RAMBOLL WHITBYBIRD REMOTE VPN ACCESS GUIDE

To get you set up with the Ramboll Whitbybird VPN Access Connection please follow
the instructions below:

Double click on ramukvpn.exe, please follow the instructions below:

Double click the RAMUKVPN.exe file

Select: - YES

Enter the following PIN: 01413530005

Select : - OK

Select: - My Use ONLY

And tick: - Add a shortcut on the desktop
Select : - OK
In the Ramboll Whitbybird VPN Access connection box, Enter the following
credentials as below (but with your own username and password)

Username: apate
Password: (your normal logon password)
Logon Domain: ramuk

If you wish: - tick the ‘Save Password’ option

Select: - Connect

You should now be connected to the Ramboll Whitbybird VPN and a confirmation
should appear in the bottom right of the task bar as shown below:
If it does not appear, you can verify you are successfully connected, please hover
over the network icons in the notification area of task bar (at the bottom right hand
of your screen). If you are connected to Ramboll Whitbybird VPN Access, it should
appear as follows:

You have finally created a secure VPN connection to the Ramboll Whitbybird
network.

Accesssing the Intranet and E-mails

If you are a Ramboll Whitbybird laptop user, you will be able to:

1. Open Internet Explorer and access the Intranet for Sharepoint / JMS / MMR
etc.
2. Open your Outlook to send and receive e-mails.

If you do not have a Ramboll Whitbybird laptop or you are experiencing difficulty
accessing the above services from your Ramboll Whitbybird laptop, you will need to
Remote Desktop on to “Hecate”.

If you don’t already have a shortcut on your desktop called “Remote Desktop
Connection to RWB”, you can open a new remote desktop connection box by
clicking on:

Start > All Programs > Accessories > Remote Desktop Connection

(Please note if you cannot find it under “Accessories”, expand

“Communications”)

In the “Computer:” field type the “HECATE” (without the inverted commas)
Now, click “Options”. This will show the options for the remote desktop connection.
Click on the “Experience” tab, and select “Broadband (128Kbps – 1.5 Mbps) from
the drop down menu (as shown below)

Next, click on the “Display” tab and ensure your settings match these:
Finally, to save a shortcut to your desktop, select the “General” tab and click on
“Save As...”

Please click on the “Desktop” icon on the left hand side menu and then in the “File
name:” field type “Remote Desktop Connection to RWB” and then click “Save”
You have now successfully created a “Remote Desktop Connection to RWB” shortcut
on your Desktop.

Now, double click on this icon on your Desktop to connect to the Remote Desktop
Server “Hecate”

Please also note, once you click on “Connect”, you will then be presented with
Remote Desktop screen which will prompt you with a logon box, please ensure your
credentials are entered as:

U/N: ramuk\your username

P/W: your password

Finally, verify that you are connecting to the RAMUK domain by clicking on
OPTIONS and ensure that the “Log on to” field domain reads “RAMUK”. If it
doesn’t please select it from the drop down menu and then hit “OK”.
