2014-2015 Semester


Welcome Parents, thank you for supporting Religious Education and
Faith Formation at Mission San Luis Rey Parish.

Parent Orientation/Information Meeting and handbook distribution is on Sunday September
14, 2014 from 9:00 to 9:50 AM in the St. Francis Center. It will be repeated Tuesday
Evening September 23, 2014 at 6:30 PM, same location. Please plan on attending either
the Sunday or Tuesday meeting; First Communion information will also be distributed.

First Communion parents must request sacraments for their children in writing. Be sure
to fill out our Sacramental Request form, return the filled out form to the Religious
Education office with a copy of the childs Baptism Certificate and a $25 processing fee.
Specific parent and child sessions are required for the reception of sacraments.

When the primary language at home is Spanish and the child is registered in the English
program, we highly recommend the parents attend meetings presented in Spanish, (i.e.,
Spanish Program orientation meetings & First Communion Meetings). Please request a
copy of the Spanish Program cover sheet/schedule.

All Elementary classes begin Sunday September 21, 2014 9:00AM to 9:50AM.
Middle School classes begin Tuesday October 7, 2014 6:30PM to 8:00PM.

Youth Faith Formation, Grades 9 thru 12 and Confirmation. Please contact Director of Youth
directly for class times and schedules, youth@sanluisreyparish.org or 760-547-0702.

Our Religious Education/Faith Formation programs are open to all registered members of
Mission San Luis Rey Parish. Having your parish envelope number available will expedite
the registration process. Your envelope number is also your parishioner ID number. If you
are new to our parish, Parish Registration forms are available at the Parish Office. Including
your email address when registering will enable our office to send your childs classroom
assignment to you by email. Students in 6
th
grade have the option of attending either on
Sunday or Tuesday; please specify Tuesday or Sunday attendance.

Registration ends September 7, 2014. Religious Education Office hours are 9:00 AM to
4:00 PM Wednesday through Saturday.

FAITH FORMATION TUITION FEES
2014 2015 Semester


TUITION:

- Kindergarten thru 8
th
grade $60 per child, 2 Children $120, 3 Children $180.

- Pre-Confirmation $60, Confirmation $175 per student.


We would appreciate full payment at the time of registration. If submitting full tuition is
not possible you may certainly make payments up to and including December 31, 2014.

Tuition fees cover all costs for the entire semester such as Text Books, paper, pencils, as well as
various arts and crafts materials utilized in the classroom. There will be no further costs to you unless
your child will be receiving the sacrament of First Communion and/or First Reconciliation. We are
unable to process registration until a payment is received prior to start of the semester.

First Communion - Children preparing for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation (Confession) and
First Eucharist (Communion), a one-time certificate processing fee of $25 (per family) will be collected
to help cover the processing and mailing cost of Certificates. Completed Certificates will be mailed to
the address on record approximately one month after the event.



CLASS MEETING TIME:

English - Kindergarten thru 6
th
grade class time is Sunday from 9:00 am to 9:50 am.

Middle School class time is Tuesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm

Spanish Preschool thru 6
th
grade class time is Sunday from 10:40 am to 11:45 am.

Spanish Preschool & Kindergarten class time is Sunday 12 noon to 1:15pm (or when Mass ends).

Liturgy of the Word for Children at Mass 10:00 am (English) and 12 noon (Spanish).
