NTP Settings:

=============
Cisco unified OS administration: Settings--->NTP servers--->Add NTP server
DHCP Server support:
=====================
Only one DHCP server per cluster and there is no backup server.
Multiple subnets can be configured.
DHCP Monitor Service --->enabling the service DHCP.(Tools-->Service activation)
DHCP SERVER Configurfation:
============================
Cisco CM Admin-->Server-->DHCP
NOT TO USE DNS:
===============
CIsco CM adminstration--->Server-->in the hostname=IP Address
Services Activation:
--------------------
1)Network services-->Cant be activated or deactivated, only can be stopped and r
estarted.
2)Feature services--->Can be activated or deactivated.
Go to Cisco Unified serviceability-->Tools-->Service activation-->Start the serv
ice
Verifying the service started-->Tools---->Control centre feature services
For Starting,stopping,Restarting services use below
---------------------------------------------------
COntrol centre feature services----> Used to start, stop, restart, verify the st
atus and when the service started.
Enterprise Parameters: Applied to cluster wide system settings
==============================================================
Auto registration protocol:Sccp
Service Parameters:
-------------------
define the parameters for a specific service.
They can be configured for each server in a cluster.
T302 timer: Interdigit timeout
Automated Alternate Routing: Default: False
Station Keepalive Interval: Keepalive messages from Cisco Ip phones to the Call
Manager
Make server Autoregisration enabled:
====================================
Go to CM admin-->Server-->Cisco Unified CM--->uncheck the Auto-registration Disa
bled on this Cisco Unified Communications Manager-->This will activate the Auto-
registration.
in
Assigning the directory numbers automatically is done in Cisco Unified CM.
External Phone Number Mask:Specify the mask that is used to format caller ID inf
ormation for external (outbound) calls that are made from the auto-registered de
vices
e.g:For example, if you specify a mask of 972813XXXX and enable the Use External
Phone Number Mask option on the route pattern that is used to make the external
call, an external call from extension 1234 displays a caller ID number of 97281
31234.
Auto-Registration:
==================
Use autoregistration if you want Cisco CallManager automatically to assign direc
tory numbers to new phones when you plug these phones in to your network.
Cisco recommends you use autoregistration to add less than 100 phones to your ne
twork.
clusterwide security through the Cisco CTL client automatically disables autoreg
istration
If you want to use autoregistration and you have configured security, you must c
hange the clusterwide security mode to nonsecure through the Cisco CTL client
Cisco devices that support both SIP and SCCP protocols (IP phone models 7905, 79
11, 7912, 7940, 7941, 7960, 7961, 7970, and 7971) will auto register with the pr
otocol that is specified in the Auto Registration Phone Protocol Enterprise Para
meter.
Cisco devices that only support a single protocol will auto register with that p
rotocol regardless of the Auto Registration Phone Protocol setting.
CALL MANAGER GROUP:
===================
A Cisco CallManager group comprises a prioritized list of up to three Cisco Call
Managers. The first Cisco CallManager in the list serves as the primary Cisco Ca
llManager for that group, and the other members of the group serve as secondary
(backup) Cisco CallManagers.
Cisco CallManager groups associate with devices through device pools
Cisco CM admin-->Server-->Cisco Unified CM Group-->Add New
Specify a name for the group.
Setting: Auto-registration Cisco Unified Communications Manager Group: -->This
specifies the list of Cisco CallManagers that the phone will use to attempt to a
uto register
The first Cisco CallManager in the selected list must also have the Auto-registr
ation Disabled on this Cisco CallManager check box unchecked in the Cisco CallMa
nager Configuration window. This ensures that the Cisco CallManager allows the a
utoregistration request from the phone.
Note:
-----
Each Cisco CallManager cluster can have only one default auto-registration group
. If you choose a different Cisco CallManager group as the default auto-registra
tion group, the previously chosen auto-registration group no longer serves as th
e default for the cluster.
If u create a Group with setting Auto-registration Cisco Unified Communications
Manager Group checked then it will act as the default Group for auto registratio
n.
If you have changed the Autoregistration group then u must reset the devices th
at use the updated Cisco CallManager group to apply any changes that you make.
Deleting CM Group:
------------------
use dependancy records. check u have assigned the group to device pool or its a
autoregistration group.
REGION:
=======
For enhanced scalability, Cisco recommends that you properly set the default val
ues in the Cisco CallManager Administration Service Parameters Configuration win
dow for both the audio codec and the video call bandwidth values, and then choos
e the Default settings in the Cisco CallManager Administration Region Configurat
ion window.
Device Pool:Configuration parameters for Device pool:
=====================================================
Device Pool Settings:
Calling Search Space for Auto-registration:Defines whom an IP Phone is able to c
all if it auto-registers with the Cisco CallManager.
Reverted Call Focus Priority:
Network Locale:Contains a definition of the tones and cadences that the phones a
nd gateways use in a device pool in a specific geographic area
Note regarding Network locale:You must choose only a network locale that is alre
ady installed and that the associated devices support otherwise device will fail
to come up
Media resource group:Media resources provide conferencing, transcoding, media te
rmination, annunciator, and music on hold services.
CM Administration---->Media Resources-->Media resource group.
Create Media List and assign the group.
Connection Monitor Duration: This setting defines the amount of time that the IP
phone monitors its connection to Cisco CallManager before it unregisters from S
RST and re-registers to Cisco CallManager.
Soft Key template:
------------------
Allow admin to manage the softkeys on the phones.
SIP Profile:
============
It is a set of SIP attributes that can be asigned to SIP trunks or SIP endpoints
.
Sip profile includes information such as name,description,timing,retry,call pick
up and URI
