REFLECTION

First of all, I would like thank my English Language Proficiency lecturer, Mr.Razali Bin
Othman, who gave us this assignment. We were assigned to complete this coursework forum
based on social issue in groups of four or five. We choose child abuse as our topic. We have
to conduct a forum based on transcript for chosen topic and record the forum on a CD.Im very
blur about the course work. Later, with the guidelines from my lecturer, I managed to finish them.
However, I encountered several problems while doing this assignment. First problem was to
find exact informations about our topic child abuse. I have to do draft based on informations to
complete the transcript of child abuse. I searched in many books and magazines but could not
find the exact statics. Finally, I managed to get it from the internet and a muet book. As I was
doing the assignment, I noticed that the video of our forum below than 5 minutes and lack of
clarity of points. So, I had to redo the script and make it for four pages without grammar
mistakes. After two days, we got conduct another forum based on new script where we started
peacefully in our roles as chairperson, public, teacher and police woman. I done the role of a
chairperson who become the leader and conduct the forum, I come up with a definition of topic
for intro to explain about child abuse and helps to discussion of panels.
Then, I get to know more details and general knowledge about child abuse via these tasks. I
also learn about time management. I also improve my leadership qualities by done the role of a
chairperson. I also got exact chances to express opinions about child abuse without fear. I had
developed my dictionary skills when give the exact definition of the topic for forum.It makes me
to improve my grammatical competence. Forum had increased my confidence and ability to
communicate in English without mistakes. As a part of community I got more attention on this
issue.

Moreover, if I got a chance to redo this forum again I will improve my speaking skills. I will
try to speak fluently without any interruption. I also will try to speak loudly and clearly to attract
attention of audiences. I also will use better and perfect pronounciations for every word. I will
share more information about child abuse. As a conclusion, I would like to thank my lecturer
for giving us this task and also my fellow group members who worked together without getting
exhausted. This assignment gave me a chance to know my strength and weaknesses in
speaking skills which can attract the students as a future teacher.
