Thismethodstatement istoestablishthemethodologybyMillenniumEng. & Trdg. for
installationof water pumpset system, whichwasfoundelevationdiscrepancybetweenIFC
DrawingandEnablingDrawing. Andtodescribetheproceduresandmeansfor the
installationworks, whicharetheguidelinetoensuretheworkscompletedunder relevant
specificationsanddrawings.
2. Scope of Work
TheScopeof Worksiscontainsall theproceduresof installationof water pumpat thewater
plant roominSidraVillageStaff HousingProject Package.
3. Reference Documents
Referenceismadetothedesignandconstructscontract, Mechanical Specification, andthe
EmployersRequirements. Thestandardsindicatedthereinwill befollowed(whereapplicable)
for theexecutionof theworks.

4. Organization Chart and Responsibility
TheConstructionOrganizationshall beset upaccordinglyinorder toprogressour
constructionefficientlyandtimely. Different levelsof management will beassignedwith
correspondingresponsibilities, whichareshownbelow:
1. The Project Manager will havetheoverall responsibility for theexecutionand
management of theproject. TheProject Manager will providethedirectiontoachievethe
completionof theproject inaccordancewiththecontract termsandconditions.
2. Senior Mechanical Engineer withhaveresponsibilityfor overall engineeringdesignand
executionof siteworksandtoensureall methodandconstructionprocedureisapprovedby
therelevant partiesbeforework commences.
3. Project Coordinator withhaveresponsibilityfor overall processimplementation& works
coordination.
3. The Site Manager inchargeof theconstructionworkswill beresponsiblefor coordination
withall concernedpartiestoensureconstructionwill becompletedonscheduleandas
requiredbyQCSandtheProject special Specifications.
4. The Site Engineer will supervise, andmaintaintheconstructiononsiteandshouldreport
tothesitemanager anyexistingunfavourableevents, if any.
5. The QC Engineer shall takefull chargeof constructionqualitycontrol; theyshould
inspect thesitefromtimetotimeduringtheconstruction, basedonInspection&Test Plan
6. The Safety Officer toensureall worker/staff work under freehazardenvironment and
ensurePPE appliesat siteproject. ToachieveInternational Environment, HealthandSafety
Standardthisissafetyinpriority.

Thebooster / circulationpumpssetsshall bedeliveredtothejobsitesaccordingtothe
deliveryschedule.
Theunloadingof equipment will beusingtheresident mobilecraneor tower craneor man
power (shouldconditionspermits) at thedesignatedplatformwithcoordinationwithother
tradeandcraneswill beoperatedbyauthorizedlicensedoperator under project safetyrules
andregulation.
6.2.2 Storage
If pumpsetsaretobestoredfor later installation, caremust betakentoprotect thepump
setsbyproper stackinginsitestoretoprotect fromdamages.
6.2.3 Inspectionof Equipment inStores
Material InspectionRequest shouldbeissuedandall materialsdeliveredshouldnot be
usedunlessit hasbeeninspectedbytheconsultant andverifiedfor conformanceto
specification.
6.3 Programmed Reference
Workprogramfor installationof pipeworkswouldbeasper latest MEP Master Work
Program.

6.4 Installation of Pump set
6.4.1 SystemDescription
EachpackagedBooster pumpset systems(2pumps 1dutyand1standby) comes
completewithpressurevessel areprovided.
PackagedCirculationPumpset systemcomesonlyastwoindividual pumpswith
identical specifications.
Thepumpsarefactoryassembledontoacommonbaseplatetogether withafactory
assembledcontrol panel.
Gatevales, check valves, pressuregauges, butterflyvalves, etc. arefactoryassembled
andconnectionat siteisonlytothesuctionanddischargeheader.
Thecompletesystemisfactorytestedprior todeliverytosite.
Thecontrol for thepumps(start/stop) isbypressureswitches.
Thereisalsoalowlevel float switchtoprevent dryrun. Pumpsareoperatedinalead-lag
manner torotatebetweentwopumpstobalancetheoperationhours.
6.4.2 PreparationWork
Beforethecommencement of installation, thefollowingarerequiredtobecarriedout.
A. Ensure that the site / building are ready for installation of the pumping systemand
unloadingplatform, equipment accesshatchareprovidedprior tothematerial delivery.
B. Ensurethat theshopdrawings havebeenapprovedby theconsultant andthedrawings
havebeencoordinatedwithother services.
C. The delivered pump sets shall be as per specification and ensure that all material
delivered are undamaged and protected. Ensure all the materials has been inspected

andapprovedat siteasper therelevant Material InspectionRequest form.
D. Check the RC pump plinth and ensure that the dimension and location of the pump
plinth is according to requirements. Check that the top surface of the pump plinth is
level.

6.4.3 Installationof Water PumpSet
A. Locatethepumpset systemontothepumpplinth.
B. Adjust the orientation of pump set systemso that the suction and discharge header
outletsarecorrect andinlinewiththesuctionanddischargepipeconnection.
C. Mark thepositionof thescrewholeat themountingbaseonthepumpplinth.
D. Remove the pump set and drill holes on the pump plinth based on the markings.
Insert dropinanchor intothehole.
E. Insert anti vibrationneoprenepadat thebottomof thepumpset systembaseframeto
isolateanyvibrationfrombeingtransferredtothebuildingstructure. (if required)
F. Adjust thepumpset systemtoensureit isproperlylevel.
G. Tightentheboltsevenlytomount thepumpset systembaseframeontotheplinth.
H. Connect thesuctionanddischargepipestothepumpset systemsuctionanddischarge
header connections.

7. Measure and Plan for Safety and Health

7.2 Emergency procedures

scene.

Lim.
In the absence of the Project Manager, the HSE Manager shall act as the Emergency

Controller, bythenameof Mr Shaneed.
Theemergency controller shall arrangefor transportation to sendtheinjuredpersonto
theclinicor hospital if required.

Conduct firedrill trainingregularly.
Proper signageboardfor theexit frombuildingtosafeplatform.
All informationleadingtotheaccident includinginformation, description, photos, time,
location, sources, witness statements, policeand medical reports shall beprepared and
submittedbytheProject Manager totheconcernedparty(s).
