headphones or Loudspeaker. The
Single ended Triode or SET Amplifier’s
of the day were very low powered only
a few Watts. The typical SET Amplifier
is based upon some variation of the
1930’s western electric 2A2 or 300B
Directly Heated triode’s 2-5 Watts of
undistorted power. The VALVECODE
is a true Single ended triode Amplifier

We use Two tubes (One for Each
Channel) these contain two
Independent Triode Tubes in one
convenient Glass envelope. The
VALVECODE contains twice the Tube
Elements of the conventional Single
Ended triode Amplifier because each
half of these Triode tubes is connected
together serial in our Total Cascode
configuration for both the Input and
output Stages…

Caassccooddee Circuit was invented to
solve the problem of the Miller effect
limiting the high frequency Response
of Triode Tube Amplifiers for use in
Military radar and later adopted to the
television Tuner, Improving reception
in fringe Areas making Clearer T.V.

The pentode was invented to solve the
Miller effect with a single Tube as
opposed to using two tubes for
cascoding; however this over simplistic
solution also produced additional
issues that were not present in the
previous Triode Tube. Such as what is
referred to as “division" noise created
from the addition of the screen grid.
This additional grid is required for
making a Triode into a pentode.
Both the pentode and Casscode
Triode configuration are practically
immune from the effects of Miller
capacitance unlike a Single Triode.
The VALVE-CODE utilizes Triode’s
exclusively so as to avoid the
Nonlinearities of Pentodes and remain
true to the heritage of the Single
Ended Triode Amplifier. The Valve-
Code combines Cascoding to improve
the Performance and Musicality of the
Tube Amplifier without additional
gimmicks or utilizing the latest flavor of
the month design…

more influence with Tube Amplifiers
that it will with a Solid State Amplifier,
Because the Power supply rejection is
a lot better with Solid State than with
Tubes so any Hum and noise upon the
Power Supply’s output will be
presented along with the Desired
Music to the Listener and thereby
reducing the Listening experience.
The Valvecode uses an Overbuilt
Power supply starting with a Massive
240 Watt Power transformer Rectified
by a High Current Tube Rectifier
Loafing, along at a fraction of its rated
output For Long life and low Heat.

fitted the VALVECODE with an output
transformer that would be the Envy of
any High End Loudspeaker Amplifier.
By Starting with A huge 100 Watt Core
lamination from the Finest Audio
Grade Z11 steel. Add A perfectly
layered coil wound upon the Low Loss
Nylon Bobbin and we have the most
perfect output Transformer a Designer
could ask for. This precision
assembled Transformer provides for a
12-28,000Hz +-1dB with the -3dB
points @10Hz & @42KHz…

best. The valvecode provides facilities
that allow the user to adjust the critical
Headphone to Amplifier Interface to
achieve a perfect balance in harmony
with the complete system. The Ideal
Amplifier to headphone interface is
obtained from a 6 position Rotary
impedance selector switch. This allows
precise matching of any headphone
with Impedance from 16-600 Ohms to
the Amplifier
The tube complement being based
around the ultra linear 6SN7 in both
the input and output Locations allow
the user to Taylor the sound be
selecting different brands and vintages
of 6SN7’s or there equivalents. In
addition, tubes similar in parameters to
the 6SN7 may be used, NOS 6BL7
and 6BX7 can also be used in this
Amplifier in both input and output
positions.
