WIRING
At Idaho Wrecker Sales we take pride in the craftsmanship we put in every truck. We are very aware that your safety
and livelihood is at stake when you operate the equipment we provide. That is why we use top shelf material and
follow strict wiring procedures when we assemble equipment.
We use Stainless Steel Heat Shrink Connectors that provide protection from
the elements and corrosion resistance to ensure proper conductivity, due to the
highly corrosive deicing materials used on roads today.
We use Split Loom protective covering on all exposed wires, which protects

We always use a rubber or plastic grommet when passing wires through a hole,
to ensure that the wires are not damaged.
When routing wires through wrecker bodies, tool boxes or pylon, we secure in
a metal zip tie rod and zip-tie the wires to the rod every 4 -6 inches to ensure the
wiring is held in place and does not get damaged.
We bring all of the wiring in a truck through a common junction box.
We ground the junction box with a heavy gauge ground wire from the truck
frame. We use star washers to ensure a good metal to metal contact is made on
the ground cable.

Car carriers have been increasingly popular over the recent years due to the growing number of all
wheel drive vehicles, their versatility to haul varied loads, and the ability to transport multiple vehicles.
The one major drawback has been the lack of recovery capabilities, but that has changed with the SP
8000 Sidepuller. The Sidepuller is available with hydraulic stiff legs and a 9,000 lb. winch that allows
you to perform recovery work from either side of the carrier with minimal lane blockage. The Sidepuller
can also be installed on a light-duty tow truck and for industrial carriers or a heavy duty unit the SP

WLL Working Load Limit: This is the total load the manufacture says you should put on a
piece of rigging.
M.U.L Minimum Ultimate Load: This is the minimum point at which the rigging failed
under load in a test cell.
Design Factor: This is the Factor of Safety that a manufacture will design into a
component.
Example:
If a Chain has a Design Factor of 4. The manufacture would perform several pull test in a load
cell. They would record the M.U.L when the chain failed. Lets say the weakest failure was at
4,000lbs. The manufacture had a 4 to 1 Design Factor, they would divide 4,000 lbs. x 4 and
come up with a WLL of 1,000lbs.
