1) OBJECTIVE
1.1. The objective of this method statement is to provide all materials, labor and
equipment required to complete the painting works, together with ancillary work
herein described and implied to the full intent of the drawings and schedules.
1.2. Provide finishes free of defects in materials and workmanship affecting appearance
and performance. efects shall include, but not be limited to improper cleaning and
preparation of surface, entrapped dust and dirt alligatoring, blisters, peeling, drips,
runs, uneven coverage, misses, poor cutting in, improper use or application of
materials.
1.!. "#amine the specifications and drawings for the work of other $ection regarding the
provisions for prime and finish coats. Paint or finish all materials installed
throughout the project which are required to be painted, and which are left unfinished
or unpainted by other $ections.
1.%. &ll paints shall be factory tinted to required colors and thoroughly mi#ed before
application.

2.1 $ubmit name of paint manufacturer proposed for the work and complete list of
materials intended for use on work prepared by paint manufacturer to the ,onsultant
&rchitect and P.-. before materials area required. (ndicate approved manufacturer.s
official certification that materials listed thereon is the top quality made by the
company. /aterials delivered to the work shall conform to the accepted list.

approved manufacturer, correctly labeled, bearing the brand and maker.s name,
type of paint, color and code number.

manufacturer of finishing materials being used.

alkyd or late# to suit substrate.

solvent content.

color toned lighter than undercoat, undercoat lighter than the first finish coat'
final coat shall be approved color. &pply on additional finish coat to surfaces
scheduled to receive deep, dark or accent colors called for on the $chedules
and for graphics
!.%.% /asonry and ,oncrete' "nsure that surfaces are clean, free from
contamination. $crap of mortar nibs of cement spatter. -emove from oil by
washing with bleaching and remove efflorescence by dry brushing or
washing with a diluted solution. 0inally rinse with clean water.

!.9.1 Promptly as the work proceeds and on completion of work, remove all paint
spilled, splashed or spattered. uring the progress of the work, keep the
premises free from any unnecessary accumulation of tools, equipment,
surplus materials and debris. &t the conclusion of the work, leave the premise
neat and clean.
