QUESTION 1
I agree that gadgets such as smartphones, iPad and tab has destroyed communication
among friends and family. Often we see scene at any places nowadays, for an example, at the
restaurants, the father is busy reviewing the Short Messaging Service (SMS), the mother are
WhatsApp with friends, the first child was playing Candy Crush Saga, another person sent
something via Facebook (FB), and another surfing the web looking for the latest K-Pop music.
No one is really talking to each other. We occasionally hear a few words that emerged
from the mouth of the father or the mother. This family physically close but actually each is in a
different world. They communicate with others but not with each other.

The latest research about communication between families in the United Kingdom (UK)
caught our attention. In the study, each week a couple in the UK sent 34 text messages to each
other and to their children, or a total of 1,768 text messages a year. Partner in the countries on
average sent 10 e-mails a week and 468 messages using social media to family members.

Moral of the story is that family members are no longer 'talk' to each other but in relation
to using the latest equipments. Even family members who sit more comfortably under the same
roof touch using WhatsApp or FB rather than talking to each other.
World of communication among family members and friends has changed tremendously.
Malaysia is no exception in this matter. We have heard complaints from parents and teachers
about students and children built in this new scenario. A family relationship including
communion and bond is currently going through a process of change or extraordinary transform.
Scene where a father, mother and children eating at the same table and communicate with
each other seems to be over. Kids today cannot leave latest technology appliances, even at the
dinner table. Parents are too busy with the message from the office or from friends. Apart from
plates, bowls and cups, smart phones become a part of the equipment on the table today.
It cannot be denied, today is an extreme communication age. The latest technology allows
humans to touch quickly. Social media is not only changing the way we relate but also in our
family relationship even the country's political atmosphere. Take only example of the widely
popular Twitter. Over 400 million 'tweets' are sent every day by users around the world whereas
Twitter has just seven years old. Imagine how great the role played by social media in our lives
and how does it affect our family system.
Parents today are not surprised again when get messages from their children who live
together or find their results via FB or Twitter. They also want to follow the views and activities
of their children through social media.
Like it or not we should accept the fact that the gadgets and social media application have
great benefits in human life. Billions of information, data and knowledge can be obtained by
using only the fingers. We can obtain whatever information quickly and more importantly free.
As a result people become more knowledgeable, better informed and more exposed. The
education system changed drastically. Many use the latest communication technology, as long as
it is not misuse. The more important is that families should not be destroyed by technology.
Family harmony should not be sacrificed. Control the use of technology. Young children

The use of information technology in education in the 21 st century is not something new.
In fact it can be said that almost all countries have followed these developments and try to make
it happen. In Europe, information technology in education has been introduced since the early
60th. In the context of education, computer and information technology can help in various tasks
and potentially enrich the teaching environment and learning. In Malaysia, the use of information
technology in education is still in the early stage but it keeps growing rapidly.
I believe that government has a role to make world-class education in Malaysia through
the Ministry of Education, the Ministry has taken drastic measures to implement some changes
to make the education system in line with the modernization of many pioneered by the use of
new technologies such as the use of information technology in education. The program that is
being launched by ministry of education is the implementation of a smart school.
Ministry of Education of Malaysia is trying to set up the Smart School to transform the
traditional based school culture into the more knowledgeable, caring culture, creative and
critical-thinking by using the latest technology. This could open up opportunities for the use of
information technology which will facilitate its implementation in the field of education.

Beginning in January 1999, internet is the main channel of information technology has
become part of the Smart School. At the beginning of the year 2000, almost all schools have
access to the internet step by step. Ministry of Education with the cooperation and assistance of

expertise Malaysian Institute of Microelectronic Systems (MIMOS) has launched Education

Network Project. Through this project, the Ministry of Education has been providing network
services to students and educators as well as providing ongoing training program for teachers
which held at several colleges. Through this course, teachers are exposed to a various skills
including information technology as a quickly and effectively resource and information
dissemination tool.
The effective of the use of information technology will depend on the acceptance of
educators of information technology in teaching and learning elements. Educators, for example
the teacher which is the heart and backbone of generating effectiveness of education as whole,
we see more and more of them are information technology literate. If five years ago, only part of
teachers in Malaysia know the Internet. Now the number of teachers who have access to the
Internet is increasing and they think that information technology is a need to simplify the process
of teaching and learning. The rapid expansion in the use of information technology in education
is a promising way to achieve world-class education.
In conclusion, education system in Malaysia today are said to be able to provide the
students the versatility to face a more challenging future. From time to time, the government will
always find out ways that will improve education in Malaysia. In their enthusiasm to use
information technology in education, we should be alert to the dangers and negative effects of
uncontrolled use. No matter what we think, the use of information technology in teaching and
learning will change the future of education and behavior of children. Therefore, control should
be taken when using this advanced technology.

QUESTION 4

In my point of view, we will learn more from finding out that we have made mistakes.
Mistakes can be also described as failure. My reason is when we learn from our mistakes, we
will hope not to repeat the mistakes for the second time or more. From the mistakes we have
done, it is sure we will become better and more mature. Mistakes come with ability to take all the
risks that will bring successful. The more important is to see that the mistakes or failure is the
way to achieve something that higher and better life.
Many people are afraid to go wrong. Mistakes or failure is sometimes seen as something
very negative in human life. Yes, of course, all of us experienced failure. And how do we get up
from failure is a success that we will always remember. We should realize that mistakes are one
of the ways to motivate ourselves. Do not keep on dreaming with guilty and regret, learn how we
can learn from the mistakes.
Look at when we were kids before, we start learning how to walk on our own feet. At the
first trial, the second and third we fall. But at that time we did not want give up and keep trying
again and again until we can stand up and walk properly. Just imagine if we gave up and did not
want to try again, surely we would not be able to walk as we are now.
Through failure we actually learn from our mistakes and try to fix it. Look at those who
are successful in their respective fields, each of them definitely has their own story of failure and
how they do not quit and keep trying until they succeed.
Let us look at some figure in the world. Thomas Edison failed 2000 times in his
experiments and he still contributes to human incandescent light bulbs are now used around the
world. Through 2000 failure, Edison learns and finds 2000 ways not to make a light bulb.
Albert Einstein failed in mathematics during lectures. But he gave us the Theory of
Relativity and the many mathematical concepts, physics, even the philosophy that is still
perpetuated until today.
For Bill Gates, owner of Microsoft, failure is something that must be happen in the
business world, and the success is the ability to cope with failures. Failure can bring to the next
failures if not addressed in a positive way, but failure can be a place for succeed if addressed

wisely. The failures that occurred on Bill Gates can be said as a smart failure which then led
Microsoft to true success.

Figure 3 : Bill Gatess failure quote

Source by: http://www.quotespedia.info/quotes-about-success-it-fine-to-celebrate-success-but-it-is-moreimportant-to-heed-the-lessons-of-failure-a-5894.html

Failure often make one gave up. Failure can also make a person feel depressed and low
self-esteem, especially if the failure encountered the same thing. But there are some people fill
failure as one challenge to correct themselves, try better for their future. And the best part, they
can make this situation as a spirit in the journey of ambition, not to give up. That the
characteristics of successful people.
Finally, think positive and always remember that God has not revealed anything to us out
of our ability. There is wisdom behind the failure. No one is successful without failure. Failure
means the path of success. At the moment the doors closed, do not silence, surrender and
collapse. Look, there is the way that can get us out of there.

QUESTION 5
Malaysia is a unique country because the community is made up of different races and
religions. The Malays, Chinese, Indians and other indigenous peoples can live in peace and
harmony even respects each other. Malaysians can live in unity and cooperation based on the
principles of Rukun Negara. This unity is important to prevent the tragedy of May 13, 1969. The
question is how people of diverse backgrounds can get better? What are the efforts to create
unity in our country?
One of the efforts to create unity in our country is the role played by the school. People
should support the proposal to create a national based education system. With the education
system that opens to all races and the use of the Malay language as the medium of
communication, it is able to form an element of unity among students. When students of different
races in the early stages exposed to ethnic and religious diversity in primary school, efforts to
form a multiracial society can be done more effectively. In school, students of all races are
interacting, socialize and play games while doing activities during the teaching and learning time
or co-curricular activities. By this way, it can foster the understanding of generation in Malaysia,
meanwhile the cooperation and unity spirit can be born. In addition, through the Malay language
syllabus, History and Civics and Citizenship, unity can be fostered among students. Obviously,
the younger generation will be aware of their role to strengthen national unity through the role
played by the school.
In addition, an open house held on the feast day can create unity in our country. The open
house is one of the festivals celebrated by the followers of different religions in order to promote
understanding among the people of Malaysia. Practice of visiting each other when celebrates
Hari Raya Aildilfitri, Chinese New Year, Deepavali and Christmas are to intended friendship
among people of different races. During the open house, Malaysians can recognize other ethnic

deeper thereby generate an attitude of mutual understanding and respect for each other. Every
race in our country willing to accept the customs and culture of other people, beside can enjoy
various traditional meal of different community who are in the country. Friends who came to
visit our home not only strengthen the ties among people but also to enliven the open house. It is
clear that an open house held at each festival to foster unity among the community members.
Furthermore, unity among Malaysians can be nurtured through family day activities.
Family Day is a healthy activity that must be held in a community. Family day activities can be
joined by all level of society or community to foster relationships among people. Family Day can
be held on the weekend and can be carried out at places close to home such as the school field,
recreation park or at a picnic. Parents can bring their children and participate in activities.
Indirectly, every member of the community can recognize and communicate with their neighbor,
who is before that only had the opportunity to see the face without talking when out of the house.
Obviously, family day activities are to strengthen the unity and thus the success of the idea of 1
Malaysia.
Finally, solidarity within the community can be created through cultural diversity. The
diversity of race and culture in Malaysia is an important aspect of creating unity. Although
Malaysia composed from different backgrounds, but when it comes into culture, all people can
accept it without prejudice. When there is performance to celebrate the greatness or to welcome
dignitaries, there will be various folk dances such as Tarian Zapin and Tarian Inang by the Malay
community will be presented. Whereas, Fan Dance and Lion Dance by Chinese community,
Bharatanatiam Dance and Kollattam Dance by the Indian community. This unique cultural can
indirectly attract foreign tourists that visiting the country. So, the diversity of cultures in our
country is aim to create national unity and to know each other.
In conclusion, the creation of national unity should be emphasized in our country as a
root of well-being and prosperity. Therefore, all parties must work together to ensure unity
within the country. Clearly, Malaysians should work together to realize the idea of 1Malaysia as
recommended by the Malaysia Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd. Najib bin Tun Razak.

the selection based on the core values of society. In addition, it is also referred to as the science
of wisdom, justice and temperance in the values of society.
A leader is a leader in neither a good institution nor large institutional where there are

administration of a leader is subject to execution or how to work for the people. Therefore, to
ensure the organization moves dynamically, either from the administration to the grassroots,

by Example", a slogan that is often heard is the basis for a form of effective leadership.
To be a good leader, especially for a civil servant who was appointed to be a leader, some
of the values of leadership or leadership qualities have to be implemented and applied in
performing the duties of a good leader. Here are some of the values that should be as good leader.
Firstly, being a good leader, trustworthy and honest should be applied so that the leader is
always respected by the people. The attitude of trust can prevent a leader from committing
irregularities in the administration. So that all administrative tasks done well without any

Besides, simplicity is a value that is not less important in leadership. Simplicity means
reject obsessive or lack in leadership. Extreme leaders will not only lead to a breakdown in the
organization, even followers will reject the policies when leaders adopt the extreme values.
Simplicity is the value that can be applied not only in performing daily tasks, but in conversation,
direction, communication nor clothing.

in the correct order. Leaders need to have this justice value. Leaders should not favor or
favoritism in his capacity as chief. Each people should be given equal rights regardless of the

can implement each value that said earlier, it will be nurtured and respected leader that will be an
example to all men. No further occurrence of widespread corruption at all levels, attitudes or
