For flanged pLpLng, new gaskets shall be used for every assembly
operation unless such assembly is intended solely for fit up.
Contractor shall furnish sufficient gaskets to meet this
requirement. Gaskets are to be free of foreign materials. Inside
diameter of gaskets shall not protrude inside the pipe inside
diameter.
Where "flat ring" or "Flexitalic" gaskets are specified, these
shall be of the type whose outside diameter is contained within
the bolt circle. Where "Full face" gaskets are specified, these
shall be of the type whose outside diameter is the same as the
whole outside diameter of the flange with which it is used.
stud bolts and machine bolts shall be as specified in ANSI B16.5,
latest edition. All bolts shall extend completely through their
nuts, to a minimum of 6 mm or as required by the hydraulic
tensioning system.
Bolt holes of all flanges shall straddle the vertical centrelines
unless otherwise noted on the Drawings.
Prior to fabrication of piping, Contractor shall check the
location of both existing and new piping elevations and tie-ins to
existing pipe systems. Contractor shall provide the required
field-fit allowance to ensure accurate assembly of the piping.
The Contractor shall be responsible for ensuring that the
specified material, grade, wall thickness, etc., of the pipe,
fittings, flanges, stud bolts and all other components is placed
in the proper location as shown on the Drawings. Incorrectly
placed items shall be removed and replaced at Contractor's
expense.
All pipes are to be supported in the manner and at the locations
indicated on the Drawings. All adjustable pipe supports shall be
final-adjusted after all piping is complete to ensure even load
sharing on all supports. At all pipe support locations, Owner
shall supply and install neoprene rubber sheeting between the pipe
and the support as detailed on the Drawings. All above grade NPS
4 and smaller pipes which do not have specific support locations
shown on the Drawings shall be supported at wall entrance and at
suitable locations not exceeding 3.0 m between supports.
Owner shall provide blinds and temporary caps as detailed on the
Drawings at all existing piping tie-in locations for hydrotesting.
Tie-Ins
Prior to "tie-ins" by Contractor, Manager and Contractor shall
mutually agree on a tie-in schedule.
