For those of you who lIve In the LA area stop by The LIttle KnIttery 0ecember 7th from 6
9pm for the fIrst annual KnIt 1 LA trunk show.
You all know how much love a good super chunky yarn and how much use Cascade's
|agnum Super Chunky! So on hand 'll have new desIgns usIng |agnum and the samples for
some of my most popular patterns that use |agnum as well.
Dne of my new desIgns Is thIs free pattern for an open work InfInIty scarf. |ade usIng 1
skeIn of |agnum E #19's It's an easy project and a great gIft.
the Dpenwork nfInIty Scarf
|aterIals:
1 skeIn |agnum Super Chunky by Cascade (12Jyds)
#19 needles. The pIece Is worked flat so eIther straIght or cIrcular needles are fIne.
FInIshed measurements: 8.75x @67 (before foldIng)
Cast on 12 sts.
Fow 1: Sl 1 (slIp stItch as If to purl), *K1, (yo, k2tog) twIce; repeat from * end k1
Fepeat Fow 1 untIl you have enough yarn left to bInd off. 8Ind off.
Sew ends together to make a gIant loop (see pIc below), wear E enjoy!

also reworked the |IstI Net Scarf In |agnum to have at the show and really lIke the
results! The |agnum versIon Is very lIghtweIght and lofty for such a large scarf. AgaIn, an
easy 1 skeIn project that makes a great gIft! (pattern below)

1 skeIn |agnum Super Chunky by Cascade (12Jyds)
#19 cIrcular needles. would use at least a 29 sInce the scarf Is worked lengthwIse.
FInIshed measurements: 5(not pulled) x @10J (w/out frInge)
Note: these scarves are worked lengthwIse.
Cast on 100 stItches.
Fow 1: Sl 1 (purlwIse), * yo, k2tog * k1
Fepeat thIs row 10 tImes.
8Ind off.
used one strand of yarn per frInge pIece. lIked a more raw edge to the frInge so pulled
the yarn Instead of cuttIng It. Attach frInge, wear E be warm!

The pIece Is 12sts wIde and worked as a long rectangle. The ends are joIned and

I love the openwork scarf. don't have #19 needles or chunky yarn rIght now and It's
11:05pm. So, trIed It wIth sport weIght and #1J. CD 24sts and worked the pattern
just to see It. So easy and knIts so quIck. cannot waIt for tomorrow to get yarn and
needles to make one for real. :) Plus, was all excIted about the trunk show untIl
notIced am a year late. hahaha.

HI Susan, what just started doIng Is start wIth a backwards loop cast on. Then
when get to the end of the scarf don't bInd off but go back and pIck up stItches
along the cast on edge and do a J needle bInd off wIth the 2 edges Instead of sewIng
them together. t gIves It a more even look for thIs stItch pattern. Hope thIs helps

HI CadI, Thanks! f you dId a swatch to check your gauge you could multIply that by
the length of the scarf. f you have @1.5sts to the Inch you would cast on @100sts to
get the fInIshed length. AddI makes a 60 #19 that use for longer pIeces.

Not quIte sure how you ended up wIth 2 extra stItches. You should get an even 12 at

HI! t's knIt flat. So If you want a longer loop you can make the pIece longer before
you sew It together. f you want to make the pIece wIder, It's multIples of 5 + 2. Hope
