The assessment and improvement cycles

Schools will have a timetable for the most important assessment tasks, such as
internal and external tests and reports. The table opposite gives a rough outline of
how the Five-Stage Cycle can be implemented throughout the year. Note it also
suggests terms when it might be most appropriate to link this with the self-evaluation
cycle for the SEF. Schools can use this to draw up a more detailed timetable, which
plots key dates for internal assessments such as the completion of Marksheets.
