A Heroic Salute to Perunthalaivar
Kamaraj
Let us construct a massive memorial to Perunthalaivar
Kamaraj.
It is the dream of Tamilnadu; the dream of the nation and the
dream of the millions of hearts all over the world that sing the
praise of this inimitable leader. The memorial which will fulfill
their dreams is not going to be just an edifice but a tribute of
gratitude that we pay to Perunthalaivar.
It is an undeniable fact that a memorial to Perunthalaivar will
definitely be a well-liked one. The prominence would be more
if such a memorial is built on the holy land of this righteous
souls birth.
This grand memorial for Peruntahalivar, the Gem of Mankind
is to be constructed on the Madurai-Tirunelveli National
Highway, 7 kilometres ahead of Viruthunagar opposite to
Kamaraj Engineering College on a plot of land stretching upto
12 acres.

Perunthalaivar Kamarajs memorial
The memorial of Perunthalaivar Kamaraj, the widely acclaimed
King Maker is to be built on a plot of land stretching upto
12 acres, located at the entrance of Virudhunagar. With the
National Highway No.7 at the west and a railway track at the
east, the plot measuring 220 metres long on the North and
210 metres broad on the East will be a two minute feast to the
eyes of travelers plying on the national highway and by train
as well.
Mega Project
The aim of this huge project is to combine our ancient
cultural heritage and modernity in constructing an imposing
structure that would be the largest memorial to Kamarajar,
the indefatigable worker and skillful organizer. The memorial
which will keep pace with evolving trends in architecture will
spread the fame of Perunthalaivar.
Symbol of Ideology
Whenever we recall this altruistic man of action who is
afectionately referred to as Perunthalaivar, the foremost
thought that flashes across our mind is the indelible
description of him as a great man who opened our eyes to the
value of education. The meditation hall designed in the form
of human eye will render life to this ideology.
Central Arena
A statue of this genius who missed out formal education and
later when he entered mainstream public life strived to provide
good education to people, will adorn the central arena of this
memorial. The statue portrays our great leader afectionately
holding on to two students on his either side.
The Central Atrium
This central open space will give you a 360 degrees viewof the
peaceful landscape of the memorial where a green canopy of
shady trees and divine plants like Thulasi will find a place.
Water Bodies
A beautiful pond will be constructed in the north east part
considered suitable to hold water. It will be ideal for visitors to
rest enjoying the peaceful ambience. Strategically positioned
right opposite the conference hall, this pond will be a
comforting attraction.
Restaurant
To appease the appetite and tedium of the passing by
travelers and to aford them an opportunity to enjoy a visit
to the memorial, mega multi-cuisine restaurants have been
planned. Food apart, this place will ofer facilities like roof
top restaurant, ample parking space and comfortable waiting
lounge all in a lush, green setting.
Statue Museum
An elevated platform where a statue museum facing the
national highway is to be accommodated will be built in the
south west direction that is said to house the power of land.
Around 150 statues of exemplary leaders who have dedicated
their lives to the welfare of humanity are to decorate this place.
Replica of Kamarajars house
A replica of the humble dwelling of Perunthalaivar in his
hometown Viruthu patti village will be created here.
Multi-purpose Conference Hall
A multi-purpose conference hall, equipped with state-of
the-art technology will be built to aford an ideal ambience
for several important conferences, symposiums, seminars,
training sessions and youth camps. This will be fully equipped
with a separate entrance, specific parking lots and security.
Meditation hall
Located in a sprawling, 40,000 sq.f. space, this meditation
hall will be so uniquely constructed and will not only
aford immense solace but will also have special, attractive
features. Equipped with a lif, exclusive entrance, audio visual
arrangements, and air conditioning this hall will also showcase
the salient features of the memorial. Adequate space to seat
40 members, a video showof Perunthalaivars life and a stage
for cultural performances are the added utilitarian features of
this hall.
The entrance of this meditation hall will have a splendid
natural landscape with an inlaid route to take visitors to
the exhibition hall; this hall will display paintings, portraits,
archives, video clippings, audio CDs depicting Perunthalaivars
life. When you walk past all these, you will encounter the wall,
engraved with motivational and inspirational quotes, capable
of taking you to a higher plane in your existence. The flight of
stairs at the end will lead you to the Meditation Hall.
The Eternal Flame
In the south East direction, the seat of the power of fire a
40 f. high pillar will be erected to hold an eternal Flame. To
prevent environmental hazards and conserve energy, this
lamp will be fueled by natural bio fuels and will be on with no
break whatsoever. Just around this lamp, there will be an open
auditorium accommodating around 300 seats. This will be
ideal for a flag hoisting event, small meetings and small scale
events.
This 40 feet pillar holding the eternal flame is bound to attract
the attention of National Highway travelers as well as south
bound passengers travelling via Madurai. This immortal light
will be a welcome sign beckoning such visitors.

An upright politician who has been involved in honest
politics that takes greater interest in the welfare of the
people, the Founder President of the Samathuva Makkal
Katchi, R. Sarath Kumar, MLA, a staunch follower of
Perunthalaivar Kamarajars virtues has whole-heartedly
has come forward and dedicated 12 acres of land owned
by him for constructing the memorial with an estimate
of 25 crores. A trust consisting of financially and morally
strong personnel will look afer the construction of this
colossal memorial.
There is land. There is Will.
However, the giant wooden car of a temple cannot be
dragged by a single person. It should be a joint endeavour.
Each stone of this memorial will utter your name for your
