M7 Radio Specifications

Transmitter Characteristics
- RF Power Output 50 Watts +/- 1 dB for AM
- RF Power Output 100 Watts +/- 1 dB for FM
- Harmonics < -36 dBm for carriers up to 50 Watts
- Spurious signals -46 dBm ( 500 KHz from carrier waves)
- Modulation is 85 % +/- 5% variation

Receiver Characteristics
- Sensitivity of AM Voice (30 % modulation) >= 10dB at -101dBm
- Selectivity of AM Voice (25 KHz) < 6dB at +/- 12 KHz
- Frequency Response of AM voice (25 KHz) is from 1 to -3 dB
(300-3400 Hz)

Distortion of AM/FM is 5% of Total Harmonic Distortion in normal conditions.

This radio system has the AUTOMATIC GAIN CONTROL (AGC) feature .AGC
refers to the decibel change in output from reference sensitivity

In telecommunications, squelch is a circuit function that acts to suppress the
audio (or video) output of a receiver in the absence of a sufficiently strong
desired input signal. Squelch is widely used in two-way radios to suppress the
annoying sound of channel noise when the radio is not receiving a
transmission.
This M7 radio system has squelch levels adjustable from -110dBm to -60dBm in
1 dB steps.

General Specifications of M7 Radio
V/U HF Transceivers frequency range is 100 MHz to 399.975 MHz. 4
Preselectable frequency bands area available to limit the radio user to
selectable frequencies. 5 different modulation techniques are AM, FM, AM-
Wideband, FM-Wideband and Maritime. Default internal frequency is 10 MHz.

Power Supply specifications
AC Supply 110 to 240 volts AC Single Phase (48-62 Hz)
DC Supply Any voltage between 21.6 and 32 volts.
Current Overload (separate AC and DC fuses area available for protection
against current overload).

Functionalities of different modules of M7 Radio
- Power Supply ModuleConsists of AC-DC Converter, DC-DC Converter and
voltage regulators, Electronic Protection Module, Computer
Programmable Logic Device for controlling fan and status signals.
- Processor Module configures the IF and Baseband FPGA and the DSP
blocks of the system.
- RF Control Module performs the RF processing and amplification
required between the processor module and the RF power amplifier for
both transmitter and the receiver. Takes care of ALC, RFAGC, and IFAGC.
Consists of frequency synthesizer that is controlled by the CPLD.
- Control Head module controls the DSP and the FPGA and the user
interface port.
- Interface Module is the master hub for communication with other back
mounted modules with processors .It is provided with Ethernet
interface.
- EPM Interface Module supervises status of all electronic blocks and their
status signals.
