!he Championship was played in
Decem"er= "ut in 1cto"er *tavroula did

play= saying Nif ( don2t find someone to
finance my accommodation= as ( cannot
afford the costs= then ( will not manage to

playerH (n an interview with David 0erans
for !he Voice of Kussia= she said#
The first trainer I ever had was Spiridon
Malgarinos (rating 1651), a specialist for
young children chess training. t first, I had
lessons at school. !e "ade "e understand
what chess is, and he persuaded "e to #oin
the chess clu$ of %avala (in northern
&reece). I had lessons with hi" for one year.
Till now, I still go to the chess clu$ of %avala,
which has really helped "e to i"prove "y
chess s'ills, and it has provided all "y
trainers. My second trainer, for two years,
was (IM )'aterini *a'hiridou (rating +16,).
She really helped "e to i"prove "y s'ills,
and than's to her guidance I too' first place
in the &ree' -hess -ha"pionship for &irls
aged 1. and /nder when I was nine years
old. My ne0t trainer for two years was &M
1e#an ntic (rating +262). !e is a very
i"portant person for "e, as he helped "e to
i"prove "yself. !e was always giving "e
good "aterial to study. !e suggested so"e
good $oo's according to "y repertoire, and
he helped "e to i"prove "y s'ills very
"uch. This year I have changed trainers, and
"y new one is the very well3'nown &M
thanasios Mastrovasilis (rating +55.).
