    Government of the District of Columbia, 2004 – 2009

    MAYORAL AIDE, Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services (MOCRS),


    2007 – 2009
     Act as the primary representative and point of contact for the Mayor at more than 250
    meetings per year including events with other entities, businesses, community-based
    organizations (CBO’s), and citizens to support service initiatives and community problem
    solving
     Organize weekly meetings with key governmental agencies, utility companies and
    CBO’s that work directly with district residents
     Coordinate and provide direct supervision to agency representatives based on the
    priorities of the community and the Mayor
     Train community leaders, civic associations, and CBO’s on community engagement by
    using practices of successful models
     Create and implement development plans that address persistent problems such as
    crime and blight
     Brief the Mayor on issues critical to community stakeholders, city council members, the
    media, and other government agencies
     Assess partnering agencies on program objectives, issues and performance
    management
     Liaise with Limited English Proficient members of the Spanish speaking community on
    behalf of District government

     Lead the organization and efforts of 20 different agencies based on the priorities of the
    community, the City Administrator and the Mayor
     Advised the Commander and Lieutenants of the 4th District Metropolitan Police
    Department on issues affecting residents and businesses
     Developed effective community policing curriculum for members of the Metropolitan
    Police Department
     Created and implemented targeted development plans for areas with high crime and
    blight
     Represented Mayor and City Administrator at key community events
