He knoweth the Unseen and that which is open: He is the Great,

the Most High.

(The Thunder)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

‫ا‬
1. Alif Lam Mim Ra.

‫ب‬
ِ َ ِ
ْ‫ت ا‬
ُ َ 
َ ِْ
These are the Signs (or Verses) of the Book:


 َْ‫ ا‬
َ ‫ ﻡِ ر‬
َ َْ‫ي أُ" ِ! َل ِإ‬
َ %ِ ‫َوا‬
that which hath been revealed unto thee from thy Lord is the Truth;

َ 'ُ(ِ‫س َ* ُ)ْﻡ‬
ِ (‫َ َ ا‬,ْ‫ َأآ‬
 ِ
‫َوَـ‬
but most men believe not.

َ2َ"ْ‫ َ َو‬4ٍ ََ5 ِ َْ6ِ ‫ت‬


ِ ‫َوَا‬7‫ ا‬8َ َ9‫ِي َر‬%‫ ا‬:ُ ّ‫ا‬
2. Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that ye can see;

َ ََ<ْ‫= وَا‬
َ ْ>‫ش َوﺱَ? َ ا‬
ِ َْBْ‫ ا‬Cََ5 ‫ اﺱْ َ'َى‬E ُ‫ﺙ‬
is firmly established on the Throne (of Authority);
He has subjected the sun and the moon (to His law)!

CIَ7‫ ﻡ‬Hٍ َJKَ ‫ِْي‬Lَ HG ُ‫آ‬


each one runs (its course) for a term appointed.

َ 'ُ(ِM'ُ ْEُ
‫ ِِ<َء َر‬Eُ
َBَ ‫ت‬
ِ َO‫ ا‬Hُ PَQُ َ ْ‫ﻡ‬Kَ ‫ ُ ا‬4َ ُ
He doth regulate affairs, explaining the Signs in detail, that ye may believe with certainty in the
meeting with your Lord.

‫َرًا‬2ْ"‫ َوَأ‬T
َ ِ‫َ َروَاﺱ‬2ِ9 Hَ َBَJ‫ض َو‬
َ ْ‫ر‬Kَ ‫ ا‬4 َ‫ِي ﻡ‬%‫َوهُ َ' ا‬
3. And it is He Who spread out the earth, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and (flowing)
rivers:

ِ َْ(ْ‫ اﺙ‬
ِ َْJْ‫َ َزو‬2ِ9 Hَ َBَJ ‫ت‬
ِ ‫ََا‬,‫ ا‬H ُ‫َوﻡِ آ‬
and fruit of every kind He made in pairs, two and two:

‫َ َر‬2(‫ ا‬Hَ ْ‫ ا‬Tِ>ْ6ُ


He draweth the Night as a veil o'er the Day.

َ ‫َ
ُو‬Qَ َ ‫ت <َ'ْ ٍم‬
ٍ َYَ 
َ ِ‫ َذ‬Tِ9 ‫ن‬
 ‫ِإ‬
Behold, verily in these things there are Signs for those who consider!

ٌ‫َ ِورَات‬Lَ ‫ٌ ﻡ‬8َ]ِM ‫ض‬


ِ ْ‫ر‬Kَ ‫ ا‬Tِ9‫َو‬
4. And in the earth are tracts (diverse though) neighboring,

Hُ ^َQُ"‫ َو‬4ٍ ِ‫ َِء وَاﺡ‬Cَ<ْ7ُ ‫ن‬


ٍ ‫َْ ُ ﺹِ(ْ'َا‬aَ‫ٌ ﺹِ(ْ'َانٌ و‬Hِ?َ"‫ب َو َزرْعٌ َو‬
ٍ َ(ْ5‫َ(تٌ ﻡْ َأ‬J‫َو‬
and gardens of vines and fields sown with corn, and palm trees -- growing out of single roots
or otherwise: watered with the same water,

Hِ ُ‫آ‬Kُ ‫ ا‬Tِ9 c
ٍ ْBَ Cََ5 َ2َ^ْBَ
yet some of them We make more excellent than others to eat.

َ 'ُِ<ْBَ ‫ت <َ'ْ ٍم‬
ٍ َYَ 
َ ِ‫ َذ‬Tِ9 ‫ن‬
 ‫ِإ‬
Behold, verily in these things there are Signs for those who understand!

4ٍ ِ4َJ 
ٍ َْ‫ ﺥ‬TِQَ (ِf‫َا آُ( َُاً َأ‬%ِf‫ْ َأ‬Eُ2ُْ'َM ٌgَLَBَ9 ْgَLْBَ ‫َوإِن‬
5. If thou dost marvel (at their want of faith), strange is their saying:
"When we are (actually) dust, shall we indeed then be in a creation renewed?"

ْEِ2َ ِ ْ‫َُوا‬Qَ‫ آ‬
َ ِ%‫ ا‬
َ ِh‫ُأوَْـ‬
They are those who deny their Lord!

ْEِ2ِMَ(ْ5‫ َأ‬Tِ9 ‫ ُل‬i


َ ْaKَ ‫ ا‬
َ ِhَْ‫َوُأو‬
They are those round whose necks will be yokes (of servitude):

1٥/ ‫ن‬
َ ‫و‬4َِ‫َ ﺥ‬2ِ9 ْEُ‫ب ا( ِر ه‬
ُ َْ‫ َأﺹ‬
َ ِh‫َوُأوَْـ‬
they will be Companions of the Fire, who dwell therein (for aye)!

‫ت‬
ُ i
َ ُ,َْ‫ ا‬Eُ ِ2ِْkَM ِ‫ْ ﻡ‬lََ‫ْ ﺥ‬4َM‫ َو‬mِ َ(َ7َْ‫ ا‬Hَ ْkَM mِ َh7ِ 
َ َ"'ُِLْBَ ْ7َ‫َو‬
6. They ask thee to hasten on the evil in preference to the good: yet have come to pass, before
them, (many) exemplary punishments!

ْEِ2ُِْn Cََ5 ‫س‬


ِ ( ‫ِ َ ٍة‬Qْ6َ‫ُو ﻡ‬%َ 
َ ‫َوِإن َر‬
But verily thy Lord is full of forgiveness for mankind for their wrongdoing:

1٦/ ‫ب‬
ِ َ<ِBْ‫ ا‬4ُ ِ4َ>َ 
َ ‫ن َر‬
 ‫َوِإ‬
and verily thy Lord is (also) strict in punishment.

:ِ ‫ٌ ﻡ ر‬mَ :ِ ََْ5 ‫ أُ" ِ! َل‬Oْ'َ ْ‫َُوا‬Qَ‫َِ آ‬%‫َوَ<ُ' ُل ا‬
7. And the Unbelievers say!
"Why is not a Sign sent down to him from his Lord?"

1٧/ ‫َ'ْ ٍم هَ ٍد‬M H ُ


ِ‫رٌ َو‬%ِ (ُ‫ ﻡ‬l
َ "َ‫ِإ"َ أ‬
But thou art truly a warner and to every people a guide.

‫رْﺡَ ُم َوﻡَ َ!ْدَا ُد‬Kَ ‫ ا‬c


ُ ِ6َ َ‫ َوﻡ‬Cَ,"ُ‫ أ‬H ُ‫ آ‬Hُ َِْ َ‫ ﻡ‬Eُ َْBَ :ُ ّ‫ا‬
8. Allah doth know what every female (womb) doth bear, by how much the wombs fall short (of
their time or number) or do exceed.

1٨/ ‫َا ٍر‬4ْ<ِِ sُ 4َ (ِ5 ‫ْ ٍء‬Tَ‫ ﺵ‬H ُ‫َوآ‬


Every single thing is before His sight, in (due) proportion.

1٩/ ‫َ ِل‬Bَ ُْ‫ِ ُ ا‬kَ


ْ‫َ َد ِة ا‬2>‫ وَا‬g
ِ َْ6ْ‫ ا‬Eُ َِ5
9. He knoweth the Unseen and that which is open:
He is the Great, the Most High.

:ِ ِ َ َ2َJ َ‫ ﻡْ َأﺱَ  اْ<َ'ْ َل َوﻡ‬Eُ


(‫ﺱَ'َاء ﻡ‬
10. It is the same (to Him) whether any of you conceal his speech or declare it openly;

1١٠/ ‫َ ِر‬2(ِ ٌ‫ َوﺱَ ِرب‬Hِ ِْ w


ٍ ْ?َ ْ7ُ‫َوﻡَْ هُ َ' ﻡ‬
whether he lie hid by night or walk freely by day.

:ِ ّ‫ ﻡِْ َأﻡْ ِ ا‬:ُ َ"'ُyَQَْ :ِ ِQَْ‫ َوﻡِْ ﺥ‬:ِ ْ4َ َ 


ِ َْ ‫َتٌ ﻡ‬k<َBُ‫ ﻡ‬:ُ َ
11. For each (such person) there are (angels) in succession, before and behind him:
they guard him by command of Allah.

ْEِ2ِ7ُQْ"َzِ َ‫َُواْ ﻡ‬6ُ C َ‫َُ ﻡَ ِ<َ'ْ ٍم ﺡ‬6ُ *َ :َ ّ‫ن ا‬


 ‫ِإ‬
Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people until they change it themselves (with
their own souls).

:ُ َ ‫ ﻡَ َ د‬i
َ َ9 ‫ ِ<َ'ْ ٍم ﺱُ'ءًا‬:ُ ّ‫َوِإذَا َأرَا َد ا‬
But when (once) Allah willeth a people's punishment, there can be no turning it back,

1١١/ ‫ ﻡِ وَا ٍل‬:ِ ِ"‫ ﻡ دُو‬Eُ2َ َ‫َوﻡ‬


nor will they find, besides Him, any to protect.

1١٢/ ‫<َ َل‬,‫ب ا‬


َ َ7‫ ُء ا‬Cِ>ْ(ُ‫ً َو‬Bََ{‫ً َو‬9ْ'َ‫َْقَ ﺥ‬kْ‫ ا‬Eُ ُ
ُِ ‫ِي‬%‫هُ َ' ا‬
12. It is He Who doth show you the lightning, by way both of fear and of hope:
it is He Who doth raise up the clouds, heavy with (fertilizing) rain!

:ِ ِ َQِ‫ ﻡِْ ﺥ‬mُ َ


ِfi
َ َْ‫ وَا‬sِ 4ِ َِْ 4ُ ْ5 ‫} ا‬
ُ kَ7ُ‫َو‬
13. Nay, thunder repeateth His praises, and so do the angels, with awe:

:ِ ّ‫ ا‬Tِ9 ‫ن‬
َ 'ُ‫َ ِد‬Lُ ْEُ‫َ ﻡَ َ>َء َوه‬2ِ g
ُ ِPَُ9 
َ ِ5‫'َا‬P‫ ا‬Hُ ِ‫َوُْﺱ‬
He flingeth the loud-voiced thunderbolts, and therewith He striketh whomsoever He will... Yet
these (are the men) who (dare to) dispute about Allah,

1١٣/ ‫ اَِْ ِل‬4ُ ِ4َ‫َوهُ َ' ﺵ‬


with the strength of His power (supreme)!


 َْ‫ْ َ' ُة ا‬5‫ َد‬:ُ َ
14. For Him (alone) is prayer in Truth:

‫ْ ٍء‬Tَ>ِ Eُ2َ ‫ن‬


َ 'ُkِLَ ْ7َ *َ :ِ ِ"‫ن ﻡِ دُو‬
َ 'ُ5ْ4َ 
َ ِ%‫وَا‬
any others that they call upon besides Him hear them no more than

:ِ ِ6َِkِ 'َ ُ‫ َوﻡَ ه‬sُ َ9 ~َ ُْkَِ ‫ اَْء‬Cَ‫ ِإ‬:ِ ْQَ‫َﺱِِ آ‬kَ‫ِإ * آ‬
if they were to stretch forth their hands for water to reach their mouth but it reaches them not:

1١٤/ ‫ ٍل‬i
َ َ‫ ﺽ‬Tِ9 * ‫ ِإ‬
َ ِِ9َ
ْ‫َء ا‬5‫َوﻡَ ُد‬
for the prayer of those without Faith is nothing but (futile) wandering (in the mind).

ً‫ً َوآَْه‬5ْ'َ{ ‫ض‬


ِ ْ‫ر‬Kَ ‫ت وَا‬
ِ ‫َوَا‬7‫ ا‬Tِ9 َ‫ ﻡ‬4ُ ُLْ7َ :ِ ِّ‫َو‬
15. Whatever beings there are in the heavens and the earth do prostrate themselves to Allah
(acknowledging subjection) -- with good will or in spite of themselves:

1١٥/ ‫ﺹَ ِل‬O‫ و وَا‬4ُ ُ6ِْ Eُ2ُiِn‫َو‬


so do their shadows in the mornings and evenings.

‫ض‬
ِ ْ‫ر‬Kَ ‫ت وَا‬
ِ ‫َوَا‬7‫ب ا‬
 ‫ْ ﻡَ ر‬HُM
16. Say: "Who is the Lord and Sustainer of the heavens and the earth?"

:ُ ّ‫ ا‬Hِ ُM
Say: "It is Allah."

‫ا‬Iَ‫ً َو َ* ﺽ‬BْQَ" ْEِ2ِ7ُQ"َzِ ‫ن‬


َ 'ُ
َِْ *َ ‫ َأوَِْء‬:ِ ِ"‫ ﻡ دُو‬Eُْ%َ?َ9‫ْ َأ‬HُM
Say: "Do ye then take (for worship) protectors other than Him, such as have no power either
for good or for harm to themselves?"

ُ ِPَkْ‫ وَا‬Cَْ5Kَ ‫ْ َ'ِي ا‬7َ ْHَ‫ْ ه‬HُM


Say:
"Are the blind equal with those who see?

‫ت وَا(' ُر‬
ُ َُy‫ْ َ'ِي ا‬7َ ْHَ‫َأمْ ه‬
Or the depths of darkness equal with Light?"

ُ َْ?ْ‫ ا‬:َ ََ>َ َ9 :ِ ِ<َْ?َ‫ ﺵُ َآَء ﺥََ<ُ'اْ آ‬:ِ ِّ ْ‫َُ'ا‬BَJ ْ‫أَم‬
Or do they assign to Allah partners who have created (anything) as He has created, so that the
creation seemed to them similar?

1١٦/ ‫ ُر‬2َ<ْ‫ ا‬4ُ ِ‫ْ ٍء َوهُ َ' اْ'َاﺡ‬Tَ‫ ﺵ‬H ُ‫ آ‬
ُ َِ‫ ﺥ‬:ُ ّ‫ ا‬Hِ ُM
Say:
"Allah is the Creator of all things:
He is the One, the Supreme and Irresistible."

َ‫ ِره‬4َ َ<ِ ٌmَ‫ْ َأوْ ِد‬lََ7َ9 ‫َء ﻡَء‬7‫ ا‬


َ ِ‫أَ" َ! َل ﻡ‬
17. He sends down water from the skies, and the channels flow, each according to its measure:

ًِ‫ًا را‬4َ‫ َز‬Hُ ْ7‫ ا‬Hَ ََ ْ‫َﺡ‬9


but the torrent bears away the foam that mounts up to the surface.

:ُ ُْ,‫ٌ ﻡ‬4َ‫ع َز‬


ٍ َ َ‫ َأوْ ﻡ‬mٍ َِْ‫َء ﺡ‬6ِ ْ‫ ا( ِر ا‬Tِ9 :ِ ََْ5 ‫ن‬
َ ‫ُو‬4ِM'ُ ِ‫َوﻡ‬
Even so, from that (ore) which they heat in the fire, to make ornaments or utensils therewith,
there is a scum likewise.

Hَ ِ{َkْ‫ وَا‬
 َْ‫ ا‬:ُ ّ‫ب ا‬
ُ ِ ْ^َ 
َ ِ%َ َ‫آ‬
Thus doth Allah (by parables) show forth Truth and Vanity:

‫ض‬
ِ ْ‫ر‬Kَ ‫ ا‬Tِ9 
ُ ُ
ََْ9 ‫س‬
َ (‫ ا‬8ُ َQ(َ َ‫َء َوَأﻡ ﻡ‬QُJ g
ُ َ‫ْه‬%ََ9 4ُ َ! ‫َﻡ ا‬zَ9
for the scum disappears like froth cast out; while that which is for the good of mankind remains
on the earth.

1١٧/ ‫َ َل‬,ْ‫ﻡ‬Kَ ‫ ا‬:ُ ّ‫ب ا‬


ُ ِ ْ^َ 
َ ِ%َ َ‫آ‬
Thus doth Allah set forth parables.

Cَ(ْ7ُْ‫ ا‬Eُ ِ2َ ِ ْ‫َُ'ا‬Lَ ْ‫ اﺱ‬


َ ِ%ِ
18. For those who respond to their Lord, are (all) good things.

ًBَِJ ‫ض‬
ِ ْ‫ر‬Kَ ‫ ا‬Tِ9 ‫ ﻡ‬Eُ2َ ‫ن‬
 ‫ َ'ْ َأ‬:ُ َ ْ‫ُ'ا‬kِLَ ْ7َ ْEَ 
َ ِ%‫وَا‬
But those who respond not to Him -- even if they had all that is in the heavens and on earth,

Eُ (َ2َJ ْEُ‫ْوَاه‬zَ‫ب َوﻡ‬


ِ َ7ِْ‫ْ ﺱُ' ُء ا‬Eُ2َ 
َ ِh‫ ُأوَْـ‬:ِ ِ ْ‫وْا‬4َ َ ْ9*َ :ُ َBَ‫ ﻡ‬:ُ َْ,ِ‫َوﻡ‬
and as much more, (in vain) would they offer it for ransom.

1١٨/ ‫َ ُد‬2ِْ‫= ا‬


َ ْhِ‫َو‬
what a bed of misery!

Cَْ5‫ آََْ هُ َ' َأ‬
 َْ‫ ا‬
َ ‫ ﻡِ َر‬
َ َْ‫ َأ"َ أُ"!ِ َل ِإ‬Eُ َْBَ ََ9‫َأ‬
19. Is then one who doth know that that which hath been revealed unto these from thy Lord is the
Truth, like one who is blind?

1ِ ١٩/ ‫ب‬
ِ َkْKَ ‫آ ُ ُأوُْ'اْ ا‬%َ َ َ َ"‫ِإ‬
It is those who are endued with understanding that receive admonition --

1٢٠/ ‫ق‬
َ َ,ِْ‫ن ا‬
َ 'ُ^ُ<(ِ *َ ‫ َو‬:ِ ّ‫ ا‬4ِ ْ2َBِ ‫ن‬
َ 'ُ9'ُ 
َ ِ%‫ا‬
20. Those who fulfil the Covenant of Allah and fail not in their plighted word;

Hَ َ‫ أَن ُ'ﺹ‬:ِ ِ :ُ ّ‫ن ﻡَ َأﻡَ َ ا‬


َ 'ُِPَ 
َ ِ%‫وَا‬
21. Those who join together those things which Allah hath commanded to be joined,

ِ َ7ِ‫ن ﺱُ' َء ا‬
َ 'ُ9َ?َ‫ْ َو‬Eُ2‫ن َر‬
َ ْ'َ>ْ?َ‫َو‬
hold their Lord in awe, and fear the terrible reckoning;

ْEِ2‫ َر‬:ِ ْJ‫َء َو‬6ِ ْ‫َُواْ ا‬kَ‫ ﺹ‬


َ ِ%‫وَا‬
22. Those who patiently persevere, seeking the countenance their Lord;

mً َِ"i
َ َ5‫ا َو‬Iِ‫ْ ﺱ‬Eُ‫ْ(َه‬M‫َ<ُ'اْ ﻡِ َر َز‬Q"َ‫ َة َوأ‬i
َ P‫َﻡُ'اْ ا‬M‫َوَأ‬
establish regular prayers;
spend, out of (the gifts) We have bestowed for their sustenance, secretly and openly;

mَ َh7‫ ا‬mِ َ(َ7َِْ ‫ن‬


َ ‫ْ َرؤُو‬4َ‫َو‬
and turn off Evil with good:

1٢٢/ ‫ا ِر‬4‫ ا‬Cَkْ<ُ5 ْEُ2َ 


َ ِhَْ‫ُأو‬
for such there is the final attainment of the (Eternal) Home --

ْEِ2ِ‫ْ َو ُذ ر‬Eِ2ِJ‫ْ َوَأزْوَا‬Eِ2ِfَ ِْ‫} ﻡ‬


َ ََ‫َ َوﻡَْ ﺹ‬2َ"'ُُ‫ْﺥ‬4َ ‫ن‬
ٍ ْ4َ5 ‫ت‬
ُ (َJ
23. Gardens of perpetual bliss:
they shall enter there, as well as the righteous among their fathers, their spouses, and their
offspring:

1٢٣/ ‫ب‬
ٍ َ H ُ‫ ﻡ آ‬Eِ2ََْ5 ‫ن‬
َ 'ُُ‫ْﺥ‬4َ mُ َ
ِfi
َ َ‫وَا‬
and angels shall enter unto them from every gate (with the salutation):

1٢٤/ ‫ا ِر‬4‫ ا‬Cَkْ<ُ5 Eَ ْBِ(َ9 ْEَُْkَ‫ َِ ﺹ‬Eُ


ََْ5 ٌ‫م‬i
َ َ‫ﺱ‬
24. "Peace unto you for that ye persevered in patience!
Now how excellent is the final Home!"

:ِ ِMَ,ِ‫ ﻡ‬4ِ ْBَ ِ‫ ﻡ‬:ِ ّ‫ ا‬4َ ْ2َ5 ‫ن‬


َ 'ُ^ُ<(َ 
َ ِ%‫وَا‬
25. But those who break the Covenant of Allah, after having plighted their word thereto

ِ ْ‫ر‬Kَ ‫ ا‬Tِ9 ‫ن‬
َ ‫ُو‬4ِ7ْQُ‫ َو‬Hَ َ‫ أَن ُ'ﺹ‬:ِ ِ :ُ ّ‫ َأﻡََ ا‬Yَ‫ن ﻡ‬
َ 'ُBَ]ْ<َ‫َو‬
and cut asunder those things which Allah has commanded to be joined,
and work mischief in the land --

1٢٥/ ‫ا ِر‬4‫ْ ﺱُ' ُء ا‬Eُ2َ‫ َو‬mُ َ(ْB‫ ا‬Eُ ُ2َ 


َ ِhَْ‫ُأو‬
on them is the Curse;
for them is the terrible Home!

‫ ُر‬4ِ َ<َ‫ق َِْ َ>َء َو‬


َ ْ‫ُُ ا ز‬7ْkَ :ُ ّ‫ا‬
26. Allah doth enlarge, or grant by (strict) measure the Sustenance (which He giveth) to whom so
He pleaseth.

َْ"4 ‫َ ِﺡُ'اْ ََِْ ِة ا‬9‫َو‬


(The worldly) rejoice in the life of this world:

1٢٦/ ٌ‫ﺥِ َ ِة ِإ * ﻡَ َع‬O‫ ا‬Tِ9 َْ"4 ‫وَﻡَ اََْ ُة ا‬


but the life of this world is but little comfort in the Hereafter.

:ِ ‫ٌ ﻡ ر‬mَ :ِ ََْ5 ‫َُواْ َ'ْ َ* أُ" ِ! َل‬Qَ‫ آ‬


َ ِ%‫َوَ<ُ' ُل ا‬
27. The Unbelievers say: "Why is not a Sign sent down to him from his Lord?"

1٢٧/ ‫ب‬
َ َ"‫ ﻡَْ َأ‬:ِ َْ‫ِي ِإ‬4ْ2َ‫ ﻡَ َ>َء َو‬H ِ^ُ َ:ّ‫ن ا‬
 ‫ْ ِإ‬HُM
Say:
"Truly Allah leaveth, to stray, whom He will;
but He guideth to Himself those who turn to Him in penitence --

:ِ ّ‫آْ ِ ا‬%ِ ِ Eُ2ُ'ُُM 


 ِhَْ]َ‫ ﻡَ(ُ'اْ َو‬
َ ِ%‫ا‬
28. "Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah:

1ِ ٢٨/ ‫ب‬
ُ 'ُُ<ْ‫ ا‬
 ِhَْ]َ :ِ ّ‫آْ ِ ا‬%ِ ِ *َ ‫َأ‬
for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction.

1٢٩/ ‫ب‬
ٍ Yَ‫ ﻡ‬
ُ ْ7ُ‫ْ َوﺡ‬Eُ2َ Cَ'ُ{ ‫ت‬
ِ َِP‫َُِ'اْ ا‬5‫ ﻡَ(ُ'اْ َو‬
َ ِ%‫ا‬
29. "For those who believe and work righteousness, is (every) blessedness, and a beautiful place
of (final) return."

ٌEَ‫َ ُأﻡ‬2ِْkَM ِ‫ْ ﻡ‬lََ‫ْ ﺥ‬4َM mٍ ‫ ُأﻡ‬Tِ9 ‫ك‬


َ َ(َْ‫ َأرْﺱ‬
َ ِ%َ َ‫آ‬
30. Thus have We sent thee amongst a People before whom (long since) have (other) Peoples
(gone and) passed away;


ِ ‫ن ِ ﺡَْـ‬
َ ‫ُُو‬Qْ
َ ْEُ‫ َوه‬
َ َْ‫ي َأوْﺡَْ(َ ِإ‬
َ %ِ ‫ ا‬Eُ ِ2ََْ5 'َ ُْ َ 
in order that thou mightest rehearse unto them what We send down unto thee by inspiration;
yet do they reject (Him), the Most Gracious!

'َ ُ‫ ِإ * ه‬:َ ‫ * ِإَـ‬T‫ْ هُ َ' َر‬HُM
Say:
"He is my Lord!
There is no god but He!

1٣٠/ ‫ب‬
ِ َ َ‫ ﻡ‬:ِ َْ‫ َوِإ‬l
ُ ْ‫ َ َ'آ‬:ِ ََْ5
On Him is my trust,
and to Him do I turn!"

‫ض‬
ُ ْ‫ر‬Kَ ‫ ا‬:ِ ِ ْlَB]ُM ْ‫َ ُل َأو‬kِLْ‫ ا‬:ِ ِ ْ‫ُْ"ً ﺱُ َت‬M ‫ن‬
 ‫َوَ'ْ َأ‬
31. If there were a Qur'án with which mountains were moved,
or the earth were cloven asunder,

Cَْ'َْ‫ ا‬:ِ ِ Eَ ُ‫َأوْ آ‬


or the dead were made to speak, (this would be the one!)

ًBَِJ ُ ْ‫ﻡ‬Kَ ‫ ا‬:ِ ّ Hَ


But, truly, the Command is with Allah in things!

ًBَِJ ‫س‬
َ (‫َى ا‬4َ2َ :ُ ّ‫ ﻡَ(ُ'اْ أَن 'ْ َ>َء ا‬
َ ِ%‫س ا‬
ِ َzَْ ْEََ9‫َأ‬
Do not the Believers know, that, had Allah (so) willed, He could have guided all mankind (to
the Right)?

ٌmَ5‫َ ِر‬M ْ‫ُ'ا‬Bَ(َ‫ َِ ﺹ‬Eُ2ُkِPُ ْ‫َُوا‬Qَ‫ آ‬


َ ِ%‫َو َ* َ!َا ُل ا‬
But the Unbelievers -- never will disaster cease to seize them for their (ill) deeds,

:ِ ّ‫ ا‬4ُ ْ5‫ َو‬T


َ ِْzَ C َ‫ْ ﺡ‬Eِ‫ً ﻡ دَا ِره‬kَِM H َُ ْ‫َأو‬
or to settle close to their homes, until the Promise of Allah come to pass,

1٣١/ ‫َ َد‬Bِْ‫ ا‬w


ُ ِْ?ُ *َ :َ ّ‫ن ا‬
 ‫ِإ‬
for, verily, Allah will not fail in His promise.


َ ِْkَM ‫ ﻡ‬Hٍ ُ‫ْ!ِى َء ِ ُﺱ‬2ُ ْ‫ اﺱ‬4ِ َ<َ‫َو‬
32. Mocked were (many) Messengers before thee:

ْEُ2ُْ%َ‫ َأﺥ‬E ُ‫َُواْ ﺙ‬Qَ‫ آ‬


َ ِ%ِ l
ُ َْْ‫َﻡ‬zَ9
but I granted respite to the Unbelievers, and finally I punished them;

1٣٢/ ‫ب‬
ِ َ<ِ5 ‫ن‬
َ َ‫ آ‬w
َ َْ
َ9
then how (terrible) was My requital!

ْlَkَ7َ‫= َِ آ‬
ٍ ْQَ" H ُ‫ آ‬Cََ5 ٌEِfYَM 'َ ُ‫ََْ ه‬9‫َأ‬
33. Is then He Who standeth over every soul (and knoweth) all that it doth, (like any others)?

ْEُ‫ْ ﺱَ'ه‬HُM ‫ ﺵُ َآَء‬:ِ ِّ ْ‫َُ'ا‬BَJ‫َو‬
And yet they ascribe partners to Allah. Say: "But name them!

‫ اْ<َ'ْ ِل‬
َ ‫َهِ ٍ ﻡ‬yِ ‫ض أَم‬
ِ ْ‫ر‬Kَ ‫ ا‬Tِ9 Eُ َْBَ َ* َِ :ُ َ"'ُhkَ(ُ ْ‫َأم‬
Is it that ye will inform Him of something He knoweth not on earth,
or is it (just) a show of words?"

Hِ ِk7‫ ا‬
ِ َ5 ْ‫وا‬4ُ‫ْ َوﺹ‬Eُ‫َُواْ ﻡَ
ْ ُه‬Qَ‫ آ‬
َ ِ%ِ 
َ ‫ْ ُز‬Hَ
Nay! to those who believe not, their pretence seems pleasing, but they are kept back (thereby)
from the Path:

1٣٣/ ‫ ﻡِْ هَ ٍد‬:ُ َ ََ9 :ُ ّ‫ ا‬Hِ ِْ^ُ َ‫َوﻡ‬


and those whom Allah leaves to stray, no one can guide.


 َ‫ﺥِ َ ِة َأﺵ‬O‫ب ا‬
ُ ‫َا‬%َBَ‫"َْ َو‬4 ‫ اََْ ِة ا‬Tِ9 ٌ‫َاب‬%َ5 ْEُ2
34. For them is a Penalty in the life of this world, but harder, truly, is the Penalty of the Hereafter;

1٣٤/ ‫ق‬
ٍ ‫ ﻡِ وَا‬:ِ ّ‫ ا‬
َ ‫ ﻡ‬Eُ2َ َ‫َوﻡ‬
and defender have they none against Allah.

‫ن‬
َ 'ُ< ُْ‫ ا‬4َ ِ5‫ ُو‬Tِ ‫ ا‬mِ (َLْ‫ ا‬Hُ َ,‫ﻡ‬
35. The parable of the Garden which the righteous are promised! --

‫َ ُر‬2ْ"Kَ ‫َ ا‬2ِ َْ ِ‫ِْي ﻡ‬Lَ


beneath if flow rivers:

َ2ِn‫ٌ ِو‬Eِfَ‫َ د‬2ُُ‫ُأآ‬


perpetual is the enjoyment thereof and the shade therein:

ْ‫ ا<َ'ا‬
َ ِ%‫ ا‬Cَkْ<ُ5 
َ ِْ
such is the End of the Righteous;

1٣٥/ ‫ ا( ُر‬


َ ِِ9َ
ْ‫ ا‬Cَkْ<ُ5‫و‬
and the End of Unbelievers is the Fire.


َ َْ‫ن َِ أُ" ِ! َل ِإ‬
َ 'ُ‫ْ َﺡ‬Qَ ‫ب‬
َ َ ِ
ْ‫ ا‬Eُ ُ‫ َْ(َه‬
َ ِ%‫وَا‬
36. Those to whom We have given the Book rejoice at what hath been revealed unto thee:

:ُ َ^ْBَ ُ ِ
(ُ َ‫ب ﻡ‬
ِ ‫ﺡْ!َا‬Kَ ‫ ا‬
َ ِ‫َوﻡ‬
but there are among the clans those who reject a part thereof.

:ِ ِ ‫ك‬
َ ِ ْ‫ وَ* ُأﺵ‬:َ ّ‫ ا‬4َ ُkْ5‫ت َأنْ َأ‬
ُ ِْ‫ْ ِإ"َ ُأﻡ‬HُM
Say:
"I am commanded to worship Allah, and not to join partners with Him.

1٣٦/ ‫ب‬
ِ Yَ‫ ﻡ‬:ِ َْ‫ُ' َوِإ‬5ْ‫ َأد‬:ِ َْ‫ِإ‬
Unto Him do I call,
and unto Him is my return."

Iَِ َ5 ًْ
ُ‫ ﺡ‬sُ َ(ْ!َ "َ‫ أ‬
َ ِ%َ َ‫َوآ‬
37. Thus have We revealed it to be a judgment of authority in Arabic.

Eِ ِْBْ‫ ا‬
َ ِ‫ك ﻡ‬
َ ‫َء‬J َ‫ ﻡ‬4َ ْBَ Eُ‫ َأهْ'َاءه‬l
َ ْBَk‫ ا‬
ِ ِhَ‫َو‬
Wert thou to follow their (vain) desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee,

1٣٧/ ‫ق‬
ٍ ‫ َو َ* وَا‬T
„ ِ‫ ﻡِ َو‬:ِ ّ‫ ا‬
َ ِ‫ ﻡ‬
َ َ َ‫ﻡ‬
then wouldst thou find neither protector nor defender against Allah.

mً ‫ً َو ُذ ر‬J‫ْ َأزْوَا‬Eُ2َ َ(َْBَJ‫ َو‬


َ ِْkَM ‫ ﻡ‬i
ً ُ‫ْ َأرْﺱَْ(َ ُرﺱ‬4َ<َ‫َو‬
38. We did send Messengers before thee, and appointed for them wives and children:

:ِ ّ‫ن ا‬
ِ ْ‫ ِإ * ِ ِ…ذ‬mٍ َYِ T
َ ِْzَ ‫ن ِ َﺱُ' ٍل أَن‬
َ َ‫َوﻡَ آ‬
and it was never the part of a Messenger to bring a Sign except as Allah permitted (or
commanded).

1٣٨/ ٌ‫ آِ َب‬Hٍ َJ‫ َأ‬H ُ


ِ
For each period is a Book (revealed).

1٣٩/ ‫ب‬
ِ َ ِ
ْ‫ ُأ م ا‬sُ 4َ (ِ5‫ َو‬l
ُ ِkْ,ُ‫ ﻡَ َ>َء َو‬:ُ ّ‫َُْ' ا‬
39. Allah doth blot out or confirm what He pleaseth: with Him is the Mother of the Book.


َ (َ9'َ َ َ" ْ‫ْ َأو‬Eُ‫ه‬4ُ ِBَ" ‫ِي‬%‫ ا‬c
َ ْBَ 
َ (َِ ُ" ‫َوإِن ﻡ‬
40. Whether We shall show thee (within thy lifetime) part of what We promised them or take to
Ourselves thy soul (before it is all accomplished),

1٤٠/ ‫ب‬
ُ َ7ِْ‫ََْ(َ ا‬5‫غ َو‬
ُi
َ َkْ‫ ا‬
َ ََْ5 َ"…ِ َ9
thy duty is to (make the Message) reach them:
it is Our part to call them to account.

َ2ِ9‫َ ﻡِْ َأ{َْا‬2ُPُ<(َ" ‫ض‬


َ ْ‫ر‬Kَ ‫ ا‬Tِْzَ" "‫ْ َ َوْاْ َأ‬Eَ‫َأ َو‬
41. See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders?

:ِ ِْ
ُِ g
َ <َBُ‫ َ* ﻡ‬Eُ ُ
َْ :ُ ّ‫وَا‬
(Where) Allah commands, there is none to put back His command:

1٤١/ ‫ب‬
ِ َ7ِْ‫ ا‬8ُ َِ‫َوهُ َ' ﺱ‬
and He is swift in calling to account.

ًBَِJ ُ ْ
َْ‫ ا‬:ِ َِّ9 ْEِ2ِْkَM ِ‫ ﻡ‬
َ ِ%‫ْ ﻡَ
َ َ ا‬4َM‫َو‬
42. Those before them did (also) devise plots;
but in all things the master planning is Allah's.

ٍ ْQَ" H ُ‫ آ‬g
ُ ِ7ْ
َ َ‫ ﻡ‬Eُ َْBَ
He knoweth the doings of every soul:

1٤٢/ ‫ا ِر‬4‫ ا‬Cَkْ<ُ5 َِْ ‫ ُر‬Qُ


ْ‫ ا‬Eُ َْBََ‫َوﺱ‬
and soon will the Unbelievers know who gets home in the End.

َ ْ7َ ْ‫َُوا‬Qَ‫ آ‬
َ ِ%‫َوَ<ُ' ُل ا‬
43. The Unbelievers say: "No Messenger art thou."

1٤٣/ ‫ب‬
ِ َ ِ
ْ‫ ا‬Eُ ِْ5 sُ 4َ (ِ5 َْ‫ْ َوﻡ‬Eُ
َ(َْ‫ َو‬Tِ(َْ ‫ًا‬4ِ2َ‫ ﺵ‬:ِ ِّ CَQَ‫ْ آ‬HُM
Say:
"Enough for a witness between me and you is Allah, and such as have knowledge of the
Book."
