SW1 – SCOPE: The work called for by these specifications shall consist of furnishing all
equipment, labor, and materials needed for the clearing of all trees and brush as described
below in SW4 – Detail. All work shall be performed in accordance with all federal and state
codes subject to the terms and conditions of the contract.
SW2 – GENERAL: All work shall be done by labor skilled in the type of work involved.
All existing work or facilities damaged by the Contractor’s operations shall be repaired or
replaced by the Contractor at no cost to the Government.
SW4—DETAIL:
A. This project involves the complete removal of all plant material by cutting flush to the
ground all trees, shrubs, vines and misc. vegetation in the locations specified below.
This project also includes the in the trimming of low tree branches in locations
specified below Removed items which can be mulched or chipped shall be and spread
evenly in locations as directed by the Area Facility Management Specialist, Mr.
Robert Bennett (Civ./Cont./ ICI, LLC) at 646-996-8561 /
robert.paul.bennett@usar.army.mil. Those items which cannot be mulched or
chipped, such a large tree trunks and limbs shall be removed from the site and legally
disposed of. For reference, the “Areas Affected” begin at the extreme northwest
corner of the Facility property and end at the extreme northeast corner of the Facility
property both of which are located along NYS Rte. 25A. The Facility fence line is
approx. 5,400 l.f.
Scope of Work;
A. Starting at the extreme northwest corner of the Facility property, at NYS Rte.
25A, north to the fence line, east to the Facility roadway, north to Rte. 25A, west
to starting point, COMPLETE REMOVAL OF ALL VEGETATION.
B. Along fence line, starting at northwest post, southwesterly to west turning point at
POV, COMPLETE REMOVAL OF ALL VEGETATION within 10’ of each side
of the fence line.
C. Along Facility roadway, south to POV and west to the fence line, all brush and
tree limbs which are closer than 6’ to grade.
D. Starting at the northeast fence post of the POV, west to the corner fence post,
then south to the next corner fence post, then east to the next corner fence post,
then south to the next corner fence post, then east to the next corner fence post,
then north to the next corner fence post, then west to the next corner fence post,
then south to the next corner fence post, COMPLETE REMOVAL OF ALL
VEGETATION within 10’ of each side of the fence line.
E. Starting at the corner, southeastern fence post, southeast of Bldg. 109, west to the
next corner fence post, then north, along the Facility roadway, to Rte. 25A,
COMPLETE REMOVAL OF ALL VEGETATION within 10’ of the Facility
side of the fence line and within 5’ of the outside of the fence line .
F. In the MEP, above the existing missile silos, approx. 50’ x 300’, COMPLETE
REMOVAL OF ALL VEGETATION.
SW 7 – CLEAN UP: The Contractor is responsible for the clean up of all debris and
discarded materials resulting from his operations at the end of each workday. Materials shall
be disposed of off-Site in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations. In
case of conflict among these laws and regulations, the most stringent law or regulation will
apply.
SW 10– UTILITIES: Existing utility lines, electric, will be available to the Contractor for
his use. Any extension of or connections to the above lines and their restoration to original
condition and removal of extension and connections will be at the expense of the Contractor.
The above utilities will be providing at no cost, as needed to perform this contract. All
connections to existing utilities shall be coordinated with the 77th ARIM.
