7. In the similar manner market share for all routes was arrived and weightage
to the route was arrived depending on the sch kms of the route in overall
kilometers of the depot. In the study, super luxury and deluxe routes were
avoided as the buses operate night timings in which survey was not
conducted.
8. After multiplying the route market shares with the weightage points of the
routes, and summing up of the all the products, market share of the depot is
arrived. From the above table it is arrived that market share of
BHIMAVARAM depot is 58.5% and that of private vehicles is 41.5%.

CONCLUSIONS:

1. The market share of the RTC in the Bhimavaram depot jurisdiction is 58.5%.
2. Some of the routes are having below 50% market share are dongapindi, bose colony,
ganapavaram, aswaraopeta, modi,Narsapuram(Matsyapuri).
3. Trend of the market share has to be analyzed periodically, once in a year in the
prescribed methodology to take corrective actions in the operations.
4. Methodology adopted for arriving market share has to be studied critically to avoid
errors in estimation.
