02 Sound Energy Facts:

Among all the different types of energy, sound energy produces the least
amount of energy

Since it produces only a less amount of energy it is not used for the
production of electricity

The sound waves depends on the medium it travels. If the vibrational
waves of the medium in which the sound travels changes the sound,
which is produces, will also change

The conventional unit of measurement for energy is Joules. Whereas
sound energy is either measured in Pascal or Decibels.

The intensity of the sound energy is generally measured on how a normal
human being s ear perceives it

Sound energy is basically measured on two of its components basically
the pressure component and the intensity component

When the sound vibration enters our ears the ear also vibrates. This is
why we are able to hear different sounds

Dogs can hear sounds which the humans cannot hear because their ears
are more sensitive than that of humans

Sound energy is not found in space because there is no medium for the
sound waves to travel in space

The speed of sound waves is greater in solid medium than through air
medium

The speed of sound is clocked at an average of 767 miles per hour

Also sound waves travel at a faster speed in liquids than it travels through
air

The study of sound waves is called as Acoustics

The common house flies do not have the hearing capability

Whales normally communicate through sound waves under the water.
While communicating so the sound waves which they generate can travel
upto 800 kms in the ocean

The eardrums of human vibrate in the similar way to the source of the
vibrations allowing us to hear different sounds

Some animals use sound waves to detect danger or to detect any warning
of a possible attack

Sound waves cannot travel through vacuum. They require a medium to
travel either it be air, solid or liquid

The speed of the sound waves if four times as fast as it travels through air

One cannot give a proper definition for music but it can be explained as a
meaningful and proper arrangement of sounds

The air molecules surrounding the lightning stroke produce the thunder
sound.

Normally we see the lightning before the thunder which shows that the
sound travels slower than the light

Dolphins and bats use sound waves to detect the obstacles based on the
vibrations reflected from the objects in the environment
