THE CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS OF AGRICULTURE STUDENT BODY

ORGANIZATION (ASBO)
CONSTITUTION
PREAMBLE
We, the members of AGRICULTURE SYUDENT BODY ORGANIZATION of I.S.U San mariano campus,
imploring the aid of Almighty GOD to form and establish a just and benevolent student organization that
shall embody our ideas and genuine interest in the promotion of our general welfare and common good,
with outmost responsibility, integrity, truth, loyalty, peace and equality, do hereby ordain promulgate
this constitution and by-laws.

ARTICLE I:
THE NAME

SECTION 1. The organization shall be known as Agriculture Student Body Organization, I.S.U.
San Mariano chapter herein referred to ASBO.

ARTICLE II:
OBJECTIVES

SECTION 1. To promote the rights, general welfare and interest of the ASBO members.

SECTION 2. To develop social and moral awareness, responsibility, intellect and political aspect of
ASBO
member and undertake activities toward this cause.

SECTION 3. To develop good relationship with other recognize Student Body Organization.

SECTION 4. To encourage the member to involve in productive activities, help utilize their time
wisely and
appreciate the dignity of labor.

ARTICLE III:
MEMBERSHIP
SECTION 1. All bonafide Agriculture Student of the campus are ipso-facto members of the ASBO.
SECTION 2. An in-coming member must be of good moral character and have satisfactory
completed the
requirements for registration.

SECTION 3. Membership fee of twenty pesos (php.20.00) shall be collected during the first
semester.

ARTICLE IV:


OFFICERS

Section 1. The organization shall have the following composition of officers.
1. President
2. Vice President
3. Secretary
4. Treasurer
5. Auditor
6. Business Manager
7. Press Information Officer
8. sentinels
9. Escort
10. Muse
11. Song leader

SECTION 2. TERM OF OFFICE


All officers shall serve only for one (1) year unless they are qualified or re-elect
or until their successors have been elected, appointed or installed.

SECTION 3. In case of resignation of any officers (except the President in which the Vice
President assumes his office.) A special meeting shall be called to elect a member to a
vacated post.

ARTICLE V:
ELLECTION AND INSTALATION OF OFFICERS
SECTION 1. An annual election shall be held four weeks after the start of each academic year.
SECTION 2. The President shall convene the body for grouping or forming parties.
SECTION 3. Fifty percent plus one shall compose a quorum to elect the officers.
SECTION 4. Election of officers must be done by secret balloting.


ARTICLE VI:


QUALIFICATION OF ELECTED OFFICERS
SECTION 1. All candidates must be legitimate member of the organization.
SECTION 2. He/she must not be in probation list.
SECTION 3. Candidate for presidency must not hold any major position in other Students Body
Organization, must not a graduating students nor enrolled in OIP/OJT during the school
year.

ARTICLE VII:
RIGHTS AND PREVELEDGE OF MEMBERS AND OFFICERS

SECTION 1. ALL MEMBERS SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO:
a) Vote or be voted provided she/he qualifies(see article V)
b) Be informed of the activities of ASBO and inspect his financial status,
c) Give his/her suggestions, comments, ideas and opinions concerning the affairs
of ASBO;
d) Call of participate in any general assembly; and
e) Defend himself and be heard for any accusation against him.
ARTICLE VIII:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SECTION 1. MEMBERS
Every members of ASBO must have the following duties and responsibilities:
a) uphold the constitution and by-laws of the organization
b) Be responsible and aware of the contents of the University code of
discipline.
c) Pay his membership fee.

SECTION 2. OFFICERS
a) PRESIDENT


The president shall preside during the regular and special meetings to discuss
matters and preceding of the organization.
b) VICE-PRESIDENT
The vice president shall take over the responsibilities in the absence of the
president in order of priority.
c) SECRETARY
The Secretary shall keep the record of all officers and members, keep the
minutes of meetings, committee reports and official copy of CBL; prepare
the submit reports two weeks before the end of the school year.
d) TREASURER
The treasurer shall take charge of the official monetary transaction of the
organization, collect fees, receipts of funds and disbursement of the same upon
the approval of the officers and adviser and submit records for the auditing.
e) AUDITOR
The auditor audits the treasurer and helps him/her in the preparation of
records.
f) BUSINESS MANAGER
The business manager shall take charge of all business transaction of the
organization and other matters deemed necessary for the operation of the
organization.
g) PRESS INFORMATION OFFICER
The P.I.O shall make the press releases of the organization on the school paper
after the approval of the president and the adviser.
h) SENTINELS
The sentinels shall maintain the peace and order in all occations, safeguard the
interest of the members and coordinate with the peace keeping force of the
campus when necessary .
ARTICLE IX
ADVISER

SECTION 1 QUALIFICATIONS

The adviser must come from the faculty of the Agricultural Department.


He/she must be voted upon by the members of the organization.

SECTION 2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

shall represent the interest of the ASBO in any forum or body within or outside the
campus.
She/he shall safeguard the cheque booklets for the account maintained by the ASBO.


ARTICLE X:
MEETINGS

SECTION 1. REGULAR MEETINGS
The regular meetings of the organization shall be held on first and last Friday of the
month during the school year.

SECTION 2. SPECIAL MEETINGS
A special meetings shall be called when the need arises.

SECTION 3. THE QUORUM
The percent plus one of the members shall constitute the quorum.

SECTION 4. THE APPROVAL
Prior the conduction of meeting, the President and the Secretary shall;

Prepare an activity with corresponding agenda/plans.
Solicit the approval of the adviser of the organization; and
Submit the same to the office of the Student Affair for the approval.
