Adobe Photoshop
Objective:
Scan and inport a high-quality image.
Arrange texboxes and place image to edit in Microsoft Word.
Process:
I first used the scanner to to s;ave my image as a JPEG file at 300 ppi with demotions of 2400 x 3000.
I then Used Photoshop to lower the resolution to 150 ppi, so that I can end with a demotions of 1200 x
1500. Next I went in to Microsoft and insert a catchy tittle and small text so that people who are looking
for jobs are not searching all over the poster. The reason I made the font of the text with the DTP was, so
that the audience can look at one place to look for the information. Finally I inserted the logo, which is
not to big and not to small to notice where this is coming from.

Objective:
Use a phot to promot or encorange audience.
Learn basic photgraphy skills.
Process:
I choose a color scheme called the big split complementary. Later I used my Canon Rebel T3i and shoot
anything with the color Brick. Form there I choose the last three colors which are Green Teal and Blue.
Finally I made sure I had a quote that connects with the image I shoot.
While I was shooting the light outside was fantastic so I didnt need a high ISO. However, I did have to
crack the shutter speed up also I had an wide open aperture. The effects of this combination was a
sharp subject and a blurry background.

Objective:
Use the masking tool to merge two or more imgages in a post.
Process:
I choose a color scheme called Monochrome. Next I saw a images that were represents refreshment.
The women is the subject, the sky symbolizes the peace and the water splashes is the womens
refreshment. Next I arranged the splashes around the women by erasing the edges using the brush
and mask. I changed the color of the face and all splashes to color teal. Next I inserted a cloudy sky for
the back ground and selected multiply. Behind the cloud Layer I added a teal color. I then moved the
subject (the face and the splash) towards the bottom left so that the title and text are diagonally aligned
with each other. Finally I placed the website at the bottom, aligned with the tittle

Objective:
Learn to use the Prospective Grid tool.
Write a 250 word informing the reader.
Process:
Surprisingly, I managed to make the logo, which is the first thing you see on the front page, and recreate
the building from scratch. It wasnt easy but I found out that the perspective tool was very helpful in
illustrator. It was all a drawing class I had from the past. Soon enough, I started to think about the days
in my art class during junior high school. It was great because now I was in the zone in creating old
artifacts.
Using the Perspective Grid Tool I was able to place shapes in a three dimensional perspective using two
points. Every shape gradually became smaller when it was further away and larger when it was closer
to the center. Making bricks was not an easy three-step job. I started our by making horizontal rectangle
shaped from the top to button, on the left side of the Perspective Grid. Then, I made vertical rectangles
from left to right, also using the Perspective Grid. I then cut out every square from very other row. Next,
I made another horizontal and vertical rectangle shape but in slightly left position to create the over
lapping brick patter. After I cut out the bricks, I knew the color had to be different so I add a gradient to
some bricks and a solid color to other bricks with similar brick colors. Finally I used thinner rectangles
going horizontal and vertical to recreate the cement that binds the bricks together.
On the inside everything but the benches, the center table, the clock, and the large gray shape was
made using a one point Perspective Grid. The main idea to making the inside was that the whole image
had to be aligned to the fold of the brochure. The floor was just a simple two-point perspective grid
using the bottom side to create black and white tiles. The center table had to has a gradient with strips
of solid colors that helps mimics the illusion of a 3D large and round table.
Overall, the process of making the shapes and textures is more that you image but it was fun to re
create my perception of the 50s.

Objective:
Use design principals to comunicate a massegae using InDesign
Process:
I was given the logo, image and context. The next step was to create sketches to invent different options.
In InDesign I began designing the title and arranging the subtitle. After placing the title I made outline
was all set up, with a D shape flow. The image of the young lady was set on the bottom left corner of
the flier, creating the stem of the letter D. After she was all set the title along with the context and Date,
Time and place was at a curve to simulate the final shape of the letter D. Finally the logo and the website
serves as the base of the letter. The reason why I chose to use a D shape layout was because I felt like
there was enough white space in between the each layer and shape I placed.

Objective:
Learn to manipulate font.
Create shapes that make interesting logo.
Process:
Lately Ive been wondering how graphic designers make logos and one answer was Adobe Illustrator.
This tool is perfect for creating high quality logos. I absolutely enjoy using this program making logos
for my project.
My logo is based on a real barbershop called the new cholulita Barber Shop corp. This small business
has avery long name so I took part of the tile out and use there words only. I didnt want to use an
acronym because TNCBS would be too long hard to understand. So I changed the name to eigther
Cholula Barber Shop or Cholulita Barber Shop. Both Cholula and Cholulita are places but describe the
length of the place. Cholula is the normal name while Cholulita is small Cholula. Next I sketched many
styes of barbershops. I tried old fashion, modern and retro. Modern is about being stylus. I want to make
people feel like they can get haircuts that are currently trending. Modern should be about the new ere of
fashion. Old style is about being young with the 20s to 80s style. this logo should be able to show that
barbers us antic shaving tools, old charts and old cloth. People should feel like going back in time. Older
generations should feel like young again. Retro is about being robotic and straight. It should represent a
more futuristic style. It is like small glimpse to the future.
These three ides would give the owner of the barbershop options to choice from and represent how she
feels. My goal is to make people comfortable with their logo because not everyone thinks like me or
prefer the somethings as I do.

Objective:
Learn basic HTML and CSS coding.
Process:
I used TextWrangler to write the code for this website. It was a combination of both HTML and CSS. My
first try learning how to code was difficult but with practice, I became more familiar with the program.
Struggling to operate the program was a learning experience and along the process I created this
website.
I was insured to fallow the same theme I used in the logo. The Cholula Barber Shop logo was all about
a straight up old style barbershop. The barbers would only give haircuts that were popular between the
20s and the 60s. So in that case the wed site should fallow the same concept.
A background with pocodots was all but a repetitive image of a PNG file I made in Adobe Illustrator. I
also made the top and bottom line in Illustrator, and attached both inside the body of the HTML file.
Lastly I typed out a small explanation about the process of the logo. The copy text would be Time New
roman and the Title would be Verdana. I choose these two different categories to add contrast to the text
and avoid conflict reading it.
This small website may sound easy to make, but being my first time working with HTML and SCC I
failed many times at linking programs together, and running both files simultaneous.

Objective:
Learn to keep a constant design throughout the companies logo, busines card, and letterheade.
Process:
The making of the letterhead. This part was also difficult to keep it simple. I wanted to add so much
detail to draw the attention to the design, but I said no. Later I realized that the design must fallow what
I started in the business card. The top of the letter must have the logo and the shape with the zigzag.
This time the zigzag would be drowned to wards the right to keep the patter. This is what keeps the
design simple and repetitive. Next was the placement of the Copy Text. I also thought that the name and
the DTP should be centered aligned with the orange shape but placed on the the far right. Last was the
watermark. I chose to use the part of the logo as the water mark to keep representing the company. Also
I decrease the opacity to turn the mark transparent.

Process:
The business card was hard to make it simple. A simple zigzag pater that will separates the white and
orange halves. Next was the placement of the Copy Text. I was not sure if the text should be centered
or aligned to the side. Placing the text to the rise seams better because people thought it felt right and
looks more professional.
