allows you to create crossword puzzles such as jigsaw, Sudoku, or picture
puzzles. It also allows you to create tests and bingo cards for students.

2. Norton Antivirus-

ID.106300/pbPage.Trialware_en_US - This site provides free trials of Norton
antivirus software for both PC and Macintosh computers.

3. Inspiration- http://www.inspiration.com - Students as well as teachers are


able to use this software program to brainstorm ideas, write, think, organize,
and analyze information. Teachers may also use Kidspiration to help students
strengthen their math, reading, and writing skills up to fifth grade.

4. School Maestro- http://www.rredware.com - School Maestro can help


teachers keep track with attendance, grades, lesson plans, report cards, and
internet reporting for parents and students.

5. Teacher’s Pet- http://www.teachers-pet.org - Teachers can use this software


to create crosswords, bingo cards, jumbles, word search puzzles, flashcards,
cloze tests, pair-matching puzzles and much more.

site helps meet the math Goal 1 Objective 1.02 in the NC Standard Course of
Study for first grade. It helps students count by twos where students can use
the computer to input the answer and receive feedback.

2. Learn NC- http://www.learnnc.org/ - This site provides related lesson plans for
all goals and objectives under the NC Standard Course of Study. These
lesson plans can be implemented in the classroom so that the desired
objective is met.

3. Math Practice- http://www.ixl.com/math/practice/grade-1-writing-numbers-in-


words - This site helps meet math Goal 1 objective 1.01 in the NC Standard
Course of study for first grade. Students are able to play an online game that
will help them read and write numbers.

4. Math- http://www.mathworksheetscenter.com/grades/k2 - This site does an


excellent job of providing numerous math worksheets that will be beneficial
in teaching first grade. It has every math topic imaginable and the
worksheets can be printed right off the website.

5. Teach Respect of Differences-

terials.pdf - This site provides an excellent lesson plan that will help meet the
social studies Goal 1 Objective 1.03 for first grade in the NC Standard Course
of Study. It teaches students how to compare and contrast similarities and
differences among individuals and families.

1. All in Seven Days-

will be able to develop their career technology skills by creating tools for
CyberPigs teaching them about Internet safety. They will work in groups and
create a choice of a poster board, board game, article, web page, or even a
puppet show. Grade 3-5

2. An Insect’s Perspective- http://www.x-raysband.com/Homework/An

understand that there are more insects than any other animal on earth by
researching insects using the Internet. They will choose an insect and write a
letter to an exterminator asking to be spared and also create a poster. Grade
K- 2

During social studies time students will take a virtual tour to their local city
hall. Each group will select a city department service and write how it is
beneficial to the citizens or environment by creating an organizational chart
and finally present it to the Mayor. Grade 3-5

4. The Lost Food Pyramid-

develop health skills by creating a food pyramid in groups since the existing
food pyramid has vanished. They will research information about the food
groups by using the Internet and include recommended daily serving
amounts for children ages 4-8. Grade K-2

5. A Nation Divided-

Students will learn about the Civil War by describing what it was like to be a
Confederate or Union soldier. They will be writing a letter to their partner of
the opposing side describing their living conditions. Grade 3-5

site also guides teachers in creating Webquests.

2. The Apple- http://www.theapple.com – This site provides teachers with the


most up to date new around the country and globe that concerns teachers. It
also has forums for teachers to talk about specific subjects and includes
lesson plans and employment postings.

3. 4Teachers- http://www.4teachers.org - This site helps teachers integrate


technology in the classroom. Teachers can go to this website and find
resources as well as online tools that will help with any grade level.

4. Education Week- http://www.edweek.org – This site provides current events


that may have an impact on teachers and students. It also contains blogs,
forums, and chats for educators.

5. NC Standard Course of Study- http://www.dpi.state.nc.us/curriculum/- This


site provides all of the goals and objectives that must be met throughout the
school year for public schools in the state of North Carolina. It not only
provides the goals for the grade level that I will be teaching but from k-12.
