The Youth Ambassadors Institute, recipient of the
European Union Youth Award is pleased to
announce its second edition of the Peace Building in
Eastern Europe conference in Chiinu, Moldova and
Kiev, Ukraine this Fall.
From October 5th to 12th, 2014 an international
U.S. Exchange Alumni team, in collaboration with the
U.S. Embassy in Chiinu and other partners will
organize Peace building in Eastern Europe 2.0
which is a 7 day conference designed to empower
an Alumni Network of youth diplomats working to
understand frozen conflicts and combat
misinformation in times of political turmoil in Eastern
Europe. The seminar will consist of lectures,
workshops, debate sessions and field trips to Gagauz-
Yeri, Transnistria (MD) and Kiev (UA).
Call for participants
We would like to invite Alumni of U.S. International
Exchange programs to apply for the conference.
Delegates should be proficient in English and
between 18 to 25 years old.

A total amount of two delegates from each
country will be allowed to participate in the
conference so as to assure equal geographical
representation during the conference.
Travel, hotel and per diem
YASI will cover the costs of board and lodging as well
as local transportation and activity costs in Moldova
during the conference.
Delegates will only need to cover:

Participation fee of 125 USD (to be paid upon
arrival). Arrivals and departures by
plane (Chisinau Airport), bus or train (i.e. from
Bucharest or Kiev) are possible. Transportation to

and from the airport, bus or train station will be
provided by the YASI team.
Additional details are to be included in the
information package sent to participants prior to the
event.
Arrivals and Departures
Participants should arrive on Sunday, October, 5th
and plan to depart on the evening of Sunday,
October, 12th or morning of Monday, October 13th
2014.
Accommodation
Participants will be accommodated in the city center
of Chiinu, in proximity to the main activity venues.
In Kiev, delegates will be staying in the downtown of
Ukraines capital and will move from venue to venue
within the city by the bus rented for the study visit.

Exchange Alumni is 23rd of July - 3rd of August 2014.

As we expect the conference to be
a popular event, we kindly encourage you to submit
your application and search for a travel scholarship
as soon as possible. Priority will be given to
participants who are able to afford their travel costs.
However, 6 scholarships of 300 USD each are
available for the applicants from conflicted regions:
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Cyprus, Georgia, and Ukraine.

Disclaimer: Study trip to Kiev will be organized within
the joint effort of OSCE Delegation to Moldova and
Ukraine as well as the U.S. Embassies to Kiev and
Chiinu.
This project is organized as one of the winners of
the fourth annual Alumni Engagement Innovation
Fund (AEIF) project competition. AEIF received more
than 1,000 proposals and selected 60 winning teams
from over 50 different countries. AEIF invites teams of
alumni to propose innovative projects that tackle
global issues. Each winning team is eligible to win up
to $25,000 to support their project.
