Weekly Accomplishment Report Week No: 1 Period Covered: April 15 19, 2013
APRIL 15, 2013 (MONDAY) The Orientation for the OJT Trainee at Celestron Cable TV Corp was held. It was my first day in company. The schedule for working hours was given. The companys rules and regulations were also stated. The supervisor introduced the different equipments, devices, and tools in the company. He had tour us to their facilities and makes us familiarize the different equipments. We also have a short lecture on the hybrid analog transmission of cable T.V. APRIL 16, 2013 (TUESDAY) The next day, the supervisor told us to have a mapping. We have recorded the different posts wherein the Celestron cable lines are attached. We make a tally of the companys materials used and the number of post. We have already accomplished the mapping of some areas from Celestron Engineering office to all parts of Brgy. Del Remedio, San Pablo City. Then we make the summary of the tally count and we improved the previous maps.
APRIL 17, 2013 (WEDNESDAY) The supervisor showed us the equipment room. He taught us the connection of the receiver to the modulator and how the equipment works. He also trained us on proper connecting of cable lines from receiver to modulator. We do a continuity testing to ensure the cable lines are properly connected. We also have brainstorming on what could be the cause of problems at the output and how it would be prevented. He taught us to control the VCR player for those T.V. channels that is need to customize. APRIL 18, 2013 (THURSDAY) We have instructed to make a propose block diagram of the operation of the Cable T.V from the receiver to the combiner. I learned that there are three classification of channels- the off- to air channels, satellite channels and from the VCR. Then, the block diagram we have drawn was applied to the actual equipments. We have had a discussion on this. APRIL 19, 2013 (FRIDAY) We checked the connection of cable lines from receiver to modulator. Then, we balanced the RF output level of each TV channels using the ohmmeter. Balancing of RF output level is used to make the video display in the TV screen clearer. It will assure that the signal from modulator will not be distorted. Weekly Accomplishment Report Week No: 2 Period Covered: April 21 - 25, 2013
APRIL 21, 2013 (SUNDAY) We make a nametag for each rj6 cable. We put a label on each lines corresponding to its connection. We also trained to splice a cable wire. We also checked the modulator in order to produce a clearer output. The common problem is the wavy signal. Then we have some troubleshooting in order to minimize the distorted signal. APRIL 22, 2013 (MONDAY) We checked the problems on each channel. The wavy appearance, dominant white wave and mosaic are the common problems on the TV signals. That is why we do some troubleshooting on how to lessen the effect on TV screen. We checked the modulator, the receiver and the video converter. We also do the balancing of RF output level on each channel. APRIL 23, 2013 (TUESDAY) I was trained to change an old receiver to a new one. The connection of cable wires was taught by the supervisor. Then, we also checked this if it was correct. He taught us on how it works. We also measure the length of rj6 cables and we put a tag on it. We arrange those cables into the box. We list all the unused rj6 cables together with its tag number and length. APRIL 24, 2013 (WEDNESDAY) We continued the unfinished task and we put a label on the rj6 cable until it was done. We also resplice the cable wires and test it using continuity tester. Then we have short seminar on the next tasks to be accomplished. We instructed on what to do during the mapping. APRIL 25, 2013 (THURSDAY) We arranged the boxes of rj6 cables. We do the inventory of cable wires. We help on cleaning the area where the materials will be located. We fix the connections of cable wires properly. We test each rj6 cable wires using the continuity tester.
