ORACLE GOLDEN GATE MONITOR INSTALLATION

Prerequisites:
1. In order to nsta goden gate montor the mnmum |ava
verson s above 1.6
2. Need to create a user whch s havng create tabe and seect
any tabe prvege.
3. Hardware Requirements: Orace GodenGate Montor
Server requres dedcated ports. You must dentfy these
ports durng nstaaton.
4. The Orace GodenGate Montor nstaer aocates 1 GB of
memory durng nstaaton. The machne must have 0.5 GB
of avaabe memory pus the 1 GB heap sze to do ths. If the
nstaer s unabe to aocate the defaut 1 GB RAM, the
Orace GodenGate Montor Server w fa to start.
5. Ass!iated S"tware:
The Apache Tomcat web server s ncuded wth the
Orace GodenGate Montor nsta.
A producton Orace GodenGate Montor Server must
be nstaed on a system wth access to one of the
foowng databases that can be used as a repostory:
a. MySOL Enterprse verson 5.0 or 5.1
b. SOL Server 2005 or 2008
c. Orace 10g or 11g
NOTE:
The embedded Derby database can be used as the
repostory for a demonstraton of Orace GodenGate Montor
Server, but s not supported for a producton system. Orace
GodenGate Montor software ncudes the necessary drvers,
so no addtona set up s requred to access the seected
repostory database.
To use the graphca nstaer on a UNIX or Lnux system, a
wndowng system such as X Wndows must be avaabe.

Perform these steps to set up or dentfy the nformaton you w
need durng the nstaaton.
1. Identfy the fuy quaed name of the computer on whch
Orace GodenGate Montor Server w be nstaed. Ths name
must be vad for communcaton wth the Orace
2. Set up or dentfy the database that w be the repostory. Ths
database must be runnng and avaabe to the browser. Identfy
the TCP/IP port on whch the database s stenng.
3. Add a new or dentfy an exstng user for the repostory
database wth:

Prveges to create a database and the ob|ects n t the
nstaaton program w verfy the user credentas before
aowng the nstaaton to proceed.
4. Identfy avaabe ports (not bound to any process) to be used.
The nstaaton defauts are:

Pan to change the port f another process s usng the defaut
number.
5. If you pan to use e-ma aerts, dentfy the Smpe Ma Transfer
Protoco (SMTP) Server and ts port.
6. If you pan to send messages to exstng servces, dentfy the
Smpe Network Management Protoco (SNMP) verson, host
server, and trap port.
7. If you pan to use a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connecton,
create a keystore e wth the necessary securty certcates
mported nto t. Ths shoud be n the |ava KeyStore (|KS) format
used by |ava keytoo command-ne utty.
8. If you pan to nsta Orace GodenGate Montor as a Wndows
servce, you must ogn usng an Admnstratve user account
before dong the nstaaton.

nstaaton drectory and edt the
/cfg/Cong.propertes e to set the agent.type.enabed property
to OGGMON.

name of the server of the Orace GodenGate nstance.
Remember that the host_name speced for the RMTHOST
parameter n the Extract parameter e has to match the
vaue of ths |agent.host property f you have used
RMTTRAIL n the Extract.
2. Change mnitr.&st to the fuy quaed host name of the
server on whch Orace GodenGate Montor s nstaed.
