1 aspenONE Known Issues
Bulleted Text in Help files may be Distorted
if Non-Unicode Language Option other than
English is Selected
If the non-Unicode language option is set to a language other than English,
bulleted text may appear as incomprehensible text.
To resolve this issue:
1 Go to Start | Settings | Control Panel.
2 Double-click Regional and Language Options. The Regional and
Language Options dialog box appears.
3 Click the Advanced tab.
4 Select English (United States) from the Language for non-Unicode
programs drop-down list.
2 aspenONE V7.3 Known Issues
5 Click OK.
6 If you are prompted to restart your computer, restart it and then re-open
the help file. The bulleted list displays correctly.
Using Save Target As to install Help files
The Documentation DVD does not automatically install online help files.
The shortcut option Save Target As, which is available when clicking on a
help file link from the Documentation DVD, only copies the specific file related
to that link onto your system. Because many of the product help files are a
composite of several individual files, we cannot guarantee that you will be
able to view the entire online help contents from that single file.
To install online help:
1 Use Windows Explorer to view the contents of the Documentation DVD.
2 Navigate to the folder that contains the help file you wish to copy.
3 Manually copy the entire folder from the documentation DVD onto your
local machine.
If the online help you wish to view is a composite of several files, you will
need to launch the main help file in order to see the entire contents.

To determine the filename to view and launch help:
1 From the Documentation DVD, browse to the desired file.
2 Right click and select Properties. The name of the main launch file
appears at the top of the Properties dialog box.
Installing SQL Server 2005/2008 on
Localized XP SP3
If you have not installed a SQL engine, the AspenTech installer will attempt to
install SQL Express 2005 SP3 or higher for any AspenTech product that
requires SQL. In doing so, you may see the issue as described below.
Symptom
When you install an English version of SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2008
on a localized version of Windows XP with Service Pack 3 which is not an
English version, you will get following error message:
The Windows Installer service cannot update the system file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\msxml6r.dll because the file is protected by
Windows. You may need to update your operating system for this
program to work correctly.
After you click OK or the corresponding button, the setup resumes and the
setup will succeed.
An example screen that appears when installing on Chinese Windows is shown
below:
4 aspenONE V7.3 Known Issues
Cause
In Windows XP SP3 MSXML files were added to Windows File Protection. SQL
setup tries to install smxml6r.dll with the same version as found for the
English language.
Resolution
There is no Hotfix at this time. When the error occurs, click OK or the
corresponding button to continue.

Cumulative update rollup for VB6 SP6
If you install an AspenTech product that installs Microsoft Visual Basic for
Applications (VBA) on a computer that has an earlier version of VBA, you may
experience one of the following problems:
When you try to run a macro, you may receive an error message similar
to the following:
Object library invalid or contains references to object definitions that could
not be found or Compile Error in Hidden Module: <module name>.
When this problem occurs, the macro does not run.
When you try to add one of the updated controls to an Office Visual Basic
for Applications form, you may receive an error message similar to the
following:
Element not found.
When this problem occurs, the control is not added to the form.
To resolve the problem, delete cached versions of the control type libraries.
To do this, search the hard disk for ".exd" and then delete all occurrences.
The .exd files are re-created automatically by using the new controls the next
time that you use VBA. When searching for the .exd files, ensure that the
Search hidden files and folders option is checked in the More Advanced
Options of Windows Explorer.
