al applications have 20 screens and 100 tags. While connected to the terminal, y
ou can perform other time-saving operations, such as transferring files between
terminal storage and your computer, or adjusting terminal settings online.
The accessory CD provides information and support files to help you develop, use
, and maintain your HMI applications and hardware. For the latest documentation,
Rockwell Automation provides technical information on the Web to assist you in
using its products. At http://support.rockwellautomation.com, you can find techn
ical manuals, a knowledgebase of FAQs, technical and application notes, sample c

System Support:
---------------
The Microsoft Windows XP or Vista operating system is required to install the Pa
nelView USB RNDIS Driver. Windows 2000 is not supported.
The Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 and Mozilla FireFox 2.0 browsers are support
ed. The Internet Explorer 6.0 browser is not recommended.
Known Issues:
-------------
- RSLinx Classic Ethernet driver
The RSLinx Classic EtherNet/IP driver may select the USB RNDIS driver or Emulato
r Loopback Adapter instead of the Ethernet port when the EtherNet/IP driver is u
sed. To redirect the driver to the Ethernet port, change the driver setting in R
SLinx Classic from Browse Local Subnet to Browse Remote Subnet. Enter the IP Add
ress and subnet mask settings of the Ethernet port that you plan to use.
- MicroLogix or SLC data files are not supported
MG (Message) and PD (PID) data files are not supported by the PanelView Componen
t terminal. For string objects and tags, the ST file is supported. Refer to the
PanelView Explorer WebHelp for information on using A (ASCII) files.
- ControlLogix and CompactLogix tags are not supported
The native tags in the ControlLogix and CompactLogix controllers are not support
ed by the PanelView Component terminal.
- Large Applications and Optimization
Large applications or applications that are not optimized may take longer to ope
n, edit, or run. Refer to the Troubleshooting section in the PanelView Explorer
WebHelp for tips on how to optimize performance.
- Editing or running an application on a different terminal model
You can edit and run an application on a different PanelView Component terminal
than the model on which the application was initially created. However, not all
properties, such as colors, will be converted. When saving an application, the p
roperties are stored for that specific terminal. You cannot open an Ethernet app
lication on a terminal that does not support an Ethernet port.
- RSLogix 500 Tag Import
You cannot directly import RSLogix 500 symbols, addresses, and descriptions into
the PanelView Explorer design environment. However, you can copy this data from
a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and paste it into the PanelView Explorer design e
nvironment. The RSLogix 500 software lets you export a database into a .csv file
and the Pro version supports editing in Excel. For details on how to configure
your Internet Explorer or FireFox browser for copy and paste operations, refer t
o the PanelView Explorer WebHelp.
- Copy and Paste Operations between Applications
Copy and paste operations between applications in two separate browser windows a
re not supported. To reuse objects in different applications, create user-define
d objects in the library of the object palette. You can reuse these objects in a
pplications on the same terminal or export to for use with applications on other
terminals. The PanelView Explorer design environment supports copy and paste op
erations from the grid editor of the Tags, Alarms, Recipes, and Language views.
Refer to the PanelView Component WebHelp and Knowledgebase for details on specif
ic features.
