Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO)
First step towards International Mathematical Olympiad.
3 hour subjective written exam.
6-7 difficult subjective problems need to be solved stepwise.
Held during September or 1

Sunday of December.
Regional Coordinator can prepare the paper or get it from
NBHM.
Generally TOP 5% students are selected to appear in the next
round.

International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO)

Shortlisted 30-35 candidates will be eligible for a month training in Delhi.
Leader and Deputy Leader will be selected at the end of the first training
camp.
Selection will be based on their performance in the training which will
be judged by the leading team of Mathematicians, Trainers and
Researchers.
These TWO will represent India at the International event.
The trip will be financed by Ministry of Human Resource and
Development in the 14 day event enclosing 2 papers on alternate days.
Each paper will be subjective of 4.5 hours.

Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO)
Top 5% of RMO will be eligible to appear for INMO.
4 hour subjective written exam tougher RMO.
Centralized paper common to` all aspirants.

Exam Pattern

For class 1 to 4:

The participant has to answer 35 questions in 60 minutes.

For class 5 to 12:

The participant has to answer 50 questions in 60 minutes.

For class 11 to 12:

For class 11 and 12 NSO paper, Achievers section, Physics &
Chemistry sections are common, students may choose between
Mathematics or Biology as the fourth section.

For the year 2014-15, a sum of Rs.Ten Crores will be incurred towards awards,
felicitations, scholarships etc.
