CHECK LIST LOW PRESSURE MUD SYSTEM

- Mud return and treatment piping system
- Mud mix and transfer piping system
- Mud pump charging piping system
- Trip tank / hole fill piping system
- Reserve, synthetic fluid, and water based mud transfer system
- Brine piping system
- Gumbo box and flow divider
- Piping and valves for desander, dessilter, shale shakers, degasser, etc.
- The Builder shall furnish and install all ditches, tanks and mud pits for the low pressure
mud treatment systems.
- The Builder shall furnish and install the mud mix pump suction valves in the mud pits in
recessed bottom sumps. The Builder shall furnish and install Beaver (or approved equal)
suction strainers in the mud charging pump suctions. Mud pit equalizing valves shall be
furnished and installed by the Builder.
- Cleanout fittings with blank flanges shall be installed at the ends and elsewhere as needed.
Jetting lines shall be fitted in shaker header boxes, flow lines, and overboard discharges as
necessary.
-The Builder shall furnish and install the various centrifugal low-pressure mud pump
suction and discharge manifolds and piping, the flow line and mud return lines, the trip tank
return line and hole fill piping, casing fill-up system and mud mixing and charging systems.
Notes:
- The system diagram shows the mud pump suctions, the various centrifugal pump suction
and discharge lines, the flowline, the diverter system, the trip tank return line, casing fill-up
system and mud mixing system.

-Charging Pumps (OFE)

4 ea. Super Charge Pumps are centrifugal pumps 8 x 6 x 14 driven by 125 HP x 1,750
RPM explosion proof electric motor.
-Shakers/Desander/Mud Cleaner(OFE)
At least five (5) sets of mud shakers with linear vibration (flowline cleaner type) or same
performance shakers, with capacity to process 1000 gpm with screen 120 x 120 MESH
( for mud weight of 10 ppg and Yield up to 45 lb/100 ft2) and 600 gpm with screen 200 x
200 MESH ( for mud weight of 10 ppg and Yield up to 40 lb/100 ft2)
Mud Cleaner with 4 hydro-cyclones and screens with a minimum processing capacity
1000 gpm and feeding pressure in PSI of four times the mud weight in PPG.
Gumbo Box with by-pass line, installed at the flow line, to take out the clay pellets.
-Degassers (OFE)
Vacuum De-gasser sized to process at least 1000 gpm .The ventilation line (gas discharge)
shall be independent, not connected with the atmospheric separator main ventilation line.
The discharges and suction tanks of the De-gasser shall be interconnected in the upper part.
-Dessander (OFE)
Minimum capacity to process 1200gpm and feeding pressure in PSI of four times the mud
weight in PPG.
The processing and circulation system should be able to handle the making of mud or the
fluid treatment simultaneously in two tanks with independent lines.
-Centrifuge
-Centrifugal Pumps (for guidance only)(OFE)
-Degasser Pump
