Becauseof potentialsafety
hazardsunder certainconditions,
we strongly recommendagainstuse
of anadapterplug. However,if you
still elect to useanadapter,where
local codespermit, a TEMPORARY
CONNECTION may be madeto a

Use of extension cords

water supplykit containingcopper
tubing, shut-offvalve, fittingsand

fromthe coldwater supplyto allow
you to movethe refrigeratorout
fromthe wall several feet (approx-
imately3 coilsof l/4-inch copper
tubingthat measureat least10
inchesindiameter).
Rollers
Adjustablerollers, whichenable
youto moveyour refrigeratoraway
fromthe wall for cleaning, are
locatedbehindthe basegrille.
These rollersshouldbe set sothat
the refrigeratorisfirmly positioned
onthe floor andthe front israised
just enoughthat the doorsclose
easilywheno~ened about halfwav.

by the water reservoir.
Keep ice level to keep icemaker
productive.Cubesejected intoan
emptystoragebin will pile upclose
to the icemakerand pushthe feeler
armupto the OFF positionprema-
turelywhenthe bin isonly partially
full.Openthe iceaccessdoor,reach
in, level the cubes by handand ice
makingwill resume. Keepingcubes
distributedevenly will allowthe
icemakerto produceenoughiceto
fill the binto itsmaximumcapacity.
Caution:
Under certainrare circums-
tances, icecubes may be
discolored,usuallyappearing
witha green-bluishhue..The
causeof thisunusualdiscolor-
ationisapparentlydueto a
combinationof factorssuchas
certaincharacteristicsof local
waters,householdplumbrng
andtheaccumulationof copper
saltsinan inactivewater supply
line whichfeeds the icemaker.
Continuedconsumptionof such
discoloredice cubes maybe
injuriousto health. If suchdis-
colorationisobserved, discard
theice cubesand contactyour

Somecrushedicemaybedispensed

Sometimesa moundof snowwill

Thisconditionisnormal,andusually
occurswhenyou havedispensed
crushedice repeatedly.The snow
wiII eventuallyevaporate.

When DispensingWater...
The water systemprovidesapprox-
imatelysixsuccessive8-ounce
glassfuls-after which,several
hoursmustbe allowedfor replen-
ishedwater reservoirsupplyto cool.
Youprobablywill not drainall the
chilledwater fromthe reservoiron
a singleoccasion.
The first glassof water dispensed
may be warmerthanthe following
ones. This isnormal.
Dispensedwater ischilled, not
iced. For colderwater,simplyadd
crushedice or cubesbefore dis-
pensingwater.
ToStop Dispensingon
Releasepressurefromcradleand
withdrawslowlyto catchlastbits
of ice or dropsof water.
Some slight drippingmayoccur
followingdispensingof crushedice
orchilledwater.If excessive,thespill
shouldbe wipeddry immediately.
Do not pour water in spill shelf
becauseit isnot self drainingpour
it in kitchensink.The shelf and its
grilleshouldbe cleanedregularly
accordingtoinstructionsonpage13.
If Ice ClumpsFormin
Storage Bin...
The icemakerejectscubesin
groupsof five, andit isnormalfor
severalcubesto bejoinedtogether.
However,infrequentusageof ice
cancauseiceclumpstoforminthe
storagebin, resultingintemporaw
malfunctionof the dispenser
mechanism.
If thishappens:
G removestoragebinfromfreezer
compartment.
. break up iceclumpswithfingertip
pressureand discardremaining
clumps.
. replace bin before remaining
cubesmelt andfusetogether.

How to test temperatures
Usethe milktest for the fr~h food
compartment.Placea containerof
milkonthetopshelfinthe freshfood
compatiment.Check it a day later.
If the milkistoowarmor too cold,
adjustthe temperaturecontrols.
Usethe ice creamtest for the
freezer compartment.Place a con-
tainer of icecreaminthe center of
the freezer compartment.Checkit
afteraday.If itstoohardor toosoft,
adjustthetemperaturecontrols.
Alwaysallow24 hoursfor the refrig-
erator to reachthe temperature
youset.

thermostatbelow60F. at night

Tips on freezing foods
There are three essentialrequire
mentsfor efficient homefreezing.
1. Initial quality. Freeze only
top-qualityfoods. Freezing retains
qualiwandfiavoc it cannot improve
quality.
2. Speed. The quickerfruits and
vegetablesare frozenafter picking,
the better the frozenproductwill
