As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 His disciples asked
him, Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Neither this man nor his parents sinned, said Jesus, but this happened
so that the works of God might be displayed in him. 4 As long as it is day,
we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one
can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world. 6 After
saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put
it on the mans eyes. 7 Go, he told him, wash in the Pool of Siloam (this
word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.
8 His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, Isnt this the same man who used to sit and
beg? 9 Some claimed that he was. Others said, No, he only looks like him. But he himself insisted, I am the man.
10 How then were your eyes opened? they asked. 11 He replied, The man they call Jesus made some mud and
put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see. 12 Where is
this man? they asked him. I dont know, he said. 35 Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found
him, he said, Do you believe in the Son of Man? 36 Who is he, sir? the man asked. Tell me so that I may believe in
him. 37 Jesus said, You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you. 38 Then the man said, Lord,
I believe, and he worshiped him.
OBITUARY
Shuttle Tournament
Annamma Valiyaparambil ( 87 ) passed away Thursday,
July 31st at 1:00 PM at Kaduthuruthy, Kottayam. She is
the mother of 3 members of our Parish. Lovely Philip
Vetticad , Sherly Jose Kurichiaparambil ( Koenosha, WI)
and Babu Valiyaparambil (Elite Catering). Funeral was
held on Saturday ( 08/02/2014) at Muttuchira Forane
Church, Kottayam. Please pray for the departed soul.
Syro Malabar Cultural Academy is organizing a Shuttle
tournament. The event will be on Saturday, Aug 23rd
@ 9:00 AM. The games will be in doubles format. Please
register your names with Bijoy Kappan (630 656 7336),
John Varkey (630-849-0608) or Jimmy Kollappilly
(847-814-3949).
There will be a music concert in the evening to
conclude the event. All are welcome.

AUGUST PRAYER MEETINGS
Tis year's Indian Independence day parade will be held on Saturday,
16th August at Devon avenue. Our church will be leading the parade
under the name of our diocese. Te parade will on Devon ave. from
Western Ave.to California Ave. We will be meeting at St. Tomithy
Church at 9:30 AM on Saturday morning. We welcome all of you to
participate in this event to show our unity, culture and tradition.
Please contact a kaikaran for more information. We are also looking
for sponsors for the event.
Indian Independence Day Parade
Welcome to the new school year. Registrations will start
in few days at https://stthomas.parishon.net/cathedralccd.
Please register alongwith CCD registrations online. School
will open on Sunday Sept 14th. Please encourage
your children to enroll in Malayalam class. Tis year, we are
changing our curriculum to give more importance to spoken
Malayalam.

Ezhuthiniruthu for new students of Malayalam and CCD

The Episcopal Ordination of Mar Joy Alappat will be held on Saturday
September 27th here at the Cathedral Church at 9.00 am. All are invited.
We have to make this event a time of great joy and prayer experience

Marriage preparation classes will be held on 26 through 28 September 2014
Blessed Chavara and Euphrasia will be elevated as Saints in Vatican on November 23 rd
2014. A pilgrimage has been arranged in the Banner of Syro Malabar Diocese Chicago.
The pilgrimage will go from Chicago on November 16th and return on 25th November.
Those who would like to join please register your name with deposit amount.
The total price for this trip will be $2400.
The registration for CCD, Malayalam Classes and Cultural Academy will start shortly. Please

We are planning to join the Indian Independence day parade at Devon on August 16th.
