ENEPLAN project aims at the Development of a digital, energy-efficient, multi-process, networked, manufacturing system. 17 partners, stemming from seven European countries, work jointly to deliver through ENEPLAN a manufacturing planning decision support tool. This tool will be used from the conceptual phase of the product (final blueprints) up to the its final dispatch to the customer.

START: October 2011 DURATION: 36 months ENEPLAN Consortium:
Two top-level OEMs (FIAT-CRF and GORENJE) One aeronautics sector supplier (NEW) Four metal forming machine builders (PRIMA, FINNPOWER, GIZELIS &GIGANT) Three end users / suppliers (TEKS, IAM and EXALCO) Four high-ranked European universities (LMS, VTT, ITIA-CNR and AMRC) Three knowledge intensive companies as RTD providers (CADCAMATION, CASP and IDEKO). ENERGY EFFICIENT PROCESS PLANNING SYSTEM ENEPLAN Project The ENEPLAN project aims at the de- velopment of a digital, energy-efficient, multi-process, networked, manufactur- ing system adapted to the functional specifications of metal formed or ma- chined parts for automotive, aeronautic and domestic appliances. Seventeen partners, stemming from seven Euro- pean countries and comprising OEMs, SMEs, RTD and technology providers, work jointly to deliver through ENE- PLAN a manufacturing planning deci- sion support tool (Meta-CAM tool), for the optimization of a plant operation. This tool will be used from the concep- tual phase of the product (final blue- prints) up to the its final dispatch to the customer. E N E P L A N MetaCAM Tool
Business Cases The developments of the ENEPLAN project will be demonstrated in three demonstrators, coming from the automotive industry, the aeronautics industry and at last but least from the white goods industry.
White Goods Industry 6 versions of front panels for refriger- ator doors
Aeronautics Industry Loading ramp hinge of a military air- craft
Automotive Industry Automotive seat frames Vision Development of a network-based MetaCAM Tool towards energy-efficient multi-process manufacturing & optimum process planning from a given set of production requirements, adapted to the functional specifications of met- al formed or machined parts for automotive, aeronautic and domestic appliances. Key Objectives The key objectives of the ENEPLAN project in- clude the: Environmental footprint reduction Proper combination selection into the station Station energy consumption reduction Waste materials reduction CO2 emissions reduction
Energy Efficiency Improvement Deep understanding per process Shut down & stand methods Reduction of idle time Multi-process & multi-company distribut- ed control Use of the same control along the supply chain Fast adaptation of the line Forecast demand S l i d e
