TRAINING ON

Organised by :

Pulau Pinang 26 & 27 July
2011
The Gurney
Resort Hotel & Residence

The main goal of managing Occupational Safety and Health at the
workplace is to eliminate or reduce hazards. The absence of hazards ensures
the workplace is safe and without risk to health. The challenge in managing
the hazards is to control the emerging hazards posed by high risk activities at
the company premises in the form of incompetent workers, faulty
equipments, hazardous chemicals and others. Therefore a system to manage
such potential risk needs to be addressed systematically. A Permit to Work
system enables the company to control the hazardous work activities and
better control the working environment and reduce the risks to a level as low
as reasonably practicable.

By the end of the two days session the participants will be able:

to develop and use a PTW system to avoid accidents during non routine
work.
to know the different types of permits;
to assess and understand the types of hazards, gauge the level of risks
and propose control measures during the work; and
to conduct a job safety analysis (JSA) for assessing risk associated to a
specific job
