1 INTRODUCTION.

Thank you for your interest in Close Protection courses with Longmoor Security. Enclosed in this
document is information relating to our Close Protection Courses. We hope that you will find this
document useful in guiding you through the process in becoming a trained and UK Licensed
Close Protection Operator.

2 HISTORY OF LONGMOOR SECURITY.

Longmoor Security was formed in 2005 by former British Army personnel and the UK Police
Close Protection Wing. Longmoor Security was formed in response to a market place dominated
by large corporate companies purporting to offer modern, up-to-date close protection training
services.

Having researched the courses available it became apparent that what many of the companies
offered was not state-of-art or at the very cutting edge of the tactics, techniques and procedures
required of the Close Protection operative in the 21
st
Century. At Longmoor Security all our
training is based on the world renowned United Kingdom Special Forces CP training syllabus and
training is delivered by the best subject matter experts available in the world of Close Protection.
These courses are second to none.

In February 2009, Longmoor Security became part of the Westminster Group Plc and now
forms their training and operational division. The merger has now increased the profile and
employment capabilities of Longmoor Security and new CP opportunities are
opening up across the world in many of the Westminster groups 48 strategically
placed offices. The merger has now ensured that Longmoor Security has a global
presence unsurpassed by competitor companies involved in the SIA training
regime.

3 LONGMOOR SECURITYS INSTRUCTORS

The respective background of training personnel are one of the industrys most hotly debated
topics and something that Longmoor Security is rightly proud of. At its inception, Longmoor
Security employed former members of the British Army and UK Police. As the company
developed and after becoming part of the Westminster Group, Longmoor Security now sources
instructors who have had extensive experience as either former members of UK Special Forces,
the British Army and the UK Police. All our instructors are subject matter experts in their chosen
fields and have many years of operational experience in the arena of Close Protection. A look at
our instructors biographies in the Longmoor Security website will confirm this. All Longmoor
Security trainers have current operational knowledge of Close Protection and are fully versed in
the most modern protection methods. .

4 WHO ATTENDS OUR COURSES

Both our Corporate Close Protection and Hostile Environment Courses are aimed at equipping a
Close Protection novice with one of the most comprehensive Close Protection skill sets in the
industry. Our courses are open to both civilian and ex-military clients

Over the last 4 years of training we have trained individuals from all walks of life; from members
of the Armed Forces, UK Police Force, Geologists, Psychologists, IT experts, Firemen and many
others. A Military background is not a necessity. Longmoor prides itself in having trained CPOs
from over 30 countries.

5 THE LONGMOOR COURSES

By combining the skills learnt from Military Close Protection and Executive Protection, Longmoor
Security has developed a course that is widely accepted as an industry leader in the Executive
and Hostile arenas of Close Protection. Longmoor Security offers two Close Protection Courses;
the Corporate Course and the Hostile Course.

Longmoor Security offers a very hands-on and practical nature to our courses, with minimal time
spent in a classroom. This is why our courses are regarded by the industrys employers as one
of the worlds most advanced and our graduates are held in the highest regard on the CP circuit.

The course is accredited by Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) and has received the highest
accolade from the UK Security Industry Authority (SIA) Awarding Body. BNU have stated that the
Longmoor Close Protection Course was the most comprehensive and up to date course it had
received. You also earn 15 Level 4 Credits towards a Foundation Degree in Protective Security
Management upon passing the Longmoor course.

Both courses consist of all 15 Core Competencies as outlined by the Security Industry Authority
including:

Roles & responsibilities of the Close Protection operative
Threat & risk assessment

6 MODULAR APPROACH

Longmoor Security understands that delegates may not be able to afford time off work to
complete the course in one go, therefore we offer the opportunity to attend in week long
modules. The breakdown of the modules is as follows:

Module 1 CP Medical Trauma. This module sees the delegate gain the First Person on
the Scene: Intermediate (FPOSI) qualification. This extended FPOSI is far in excess of the
standard required for the SIA CP licence. The FPOSI course is delivered by highly qualified
medics who are subject matter experts in this field. The inclusion of FPOSI into the
medical module is highly beneficial as the majority of private security companies now
recognise this as an industry standard.

Module 2 CP Close Protection. The majority of the basic skills in CP are covered in
this module. You will cover Electronic communications, foot drills, the threat and other
core competencies and then progress onto more advanced skills required to become an
effective CP Operative, including Enhanced Driver training with UK Police qualified
Advanced Driving Instructors. (This module includes armoured vehicle awareness.) You
will also complete some Close Quarter Combat training. All of our instructors have CP
backgrounds and experience from around the world, both Hostile and Corporate. During
the final two days delegates will be tested on the demanding final exercise along with the
Universitys theory examination.

Module 3 CP Tactical Firearms. The package is based on the UKSF CQB shooting
syllabus, taking the delegate from basic pistol, to holster shoots, to individual Bodyguard
shoots, to dual weapon shoots and team extractions and is the most intense of its kind in
the industry.

grounds of Heythrop Park Estate This fantastic resort, set in the Oxfordshire countryside, boasts
440 acres of land, a golf course and a state of the art leisure facility. Accommodation and all
meals are included with our courses.

8 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Whilst Longmoor Security do not impose a minimum standard of fitness, it is advisable when
attending the course to have an average base level of fitness. Each delegate is required to
provide a fit for course letter from their registered GP or similar.

9 EMPLOYMENT AFTER TRAINING

Although Longmoor Security has a thriving Operations Department the nature of the industry is
that CPOs are self-employed, so we do not guarantee employment to any graduate after
completing our course. However, we will provide assistance when preparing your CV for
circulation to Longmoor and other employers and we will supply a list of current employers.

The quality of the Longmoor Security course is recognised by some of the industrys largest
security companies.

Should you be successful in passing this challenging course, be aware that Longmoor only
employs those with a Special Forces, UK Police or Longmoor Security CP course qualification.
This ensures that we maintain the very high standards that we are known throughout the
industry for. With a little research and time in the industry, you will also realise that with a
Longmoor CP qualification, other employers will be very keen to employ you.

10 QUALITY ASSURANCE

Longmoor Security takes quality assurance very seriously. In addition to our own stringent quality
assurance policies, we are open to spot inspections from the SIA and Buckinghamshire New
University (BNU). Unlike other training providers Longmoor Security is audited by BNU on an
annual basis in line with their quality assurance polices, on every audit we have passed with
100% success.

The quality of our training has also been recognised with an ISO 9001 accreditation.

11 LICENSING

discharges, admonishments or charges awaiting trial for offences the SIA will make a decision
according to:
Whether the offences are included in the lists of offences on pages 61 to 78 of the SIA
Get Licensed brochure.
The classification of seriousness of the offences (the lists on pages 61 to 78 of Get
Licensed classify offences according to degrees of seriousness);
The actual sentence or disposal given to you for the offence; and
How recent the offences were.*
* The recency of an offence is measured against the date we make the decision to grant or
refuse your licence. Where reference is made in Get Licensed to a time "before your licence
application" (as in the paragraph below) or 'in the past xx years', the date we use for the
calculation is the date on which we make the decision, not the date you originally submitted your
application.
You will not get a licence unless you have been free of the sentence restrictions for a conviction
for at least 12 months before your licence application or for up to five years where we consider
the offence to be serious and where you received a custodial sentence.

12 WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY ABOUT US

I have recently completed my CP (HECPO) course with Longmoor security and can I just say how amazing it was to
be part of the Longmoor team for those 3 weeks.
From day 1 when you are met at reception, through to the end, the professionalism, friendships and support given
and received by everyone at Longmoor was impeccable. The en-suite rooms, kitchen, dining, training rooms and
social facilities at Longmoor are to hotel standards and cant be faulted in anyway.
Situated in the grounds of the Heythrop Park, you can only imagine how amazing it is to have a complete resort to
work from; every aspect of the course can be studied, and put into practice before heading into neighbouring towns
for the real exercises.
You have complete use of the Spa, Gym and hotel facilities whilst on the course and dinner is actually in the main
hotel every evening. Throughout the course both you and the instructors form a close bond, working, eating and
socialising together, thus providing a huge team effort and spirit throughout. No one is left out of the group and as a
unit you all complete and pass the course together.

FPOSi (week 1)
Our medical instructor was amazing, not only did he know his medical profession inside out, but he has years and
years of Para / CP (Hostile) work to his name. Sharing experience and relating real events throughout his teaching
helped understand the medical side of CP world. I wasnt expecting the media side of the course to be my cup of tea,
but in fact Kenny made it interesting, enjoyable and not death by power point. Once the first day or 2 of theory was
completed most of our efforts were on practical and I found this extremely interesting and helpful. I can honestly
say, I feel 100% more confident know I have completed the FPOSi course than at the beginning.

CP (Week 2)
Richie was our instructor for this phase and has years of RMP and CP work, with knowledge on just about
everything. His teaching skills are second to none and his level of commitment and support throughout the course
was outstanding and greatly appreciated. Again adding real life events to the teaching process really helps you
understand the importance of whats being offered on the course. The staff are hands on CP operators as well as
instructors, so you really do get the best and not just someone delivering power point presentations.
Everything that was being taught was effortless from Richie and he made it enjoyable at every stage. From walking
drills to surveillance to ambush drills, I enjoyed every aspect of it.
The advance driver training was an eye opener for me as I had never driven a vehicle in this manner before. Having
2 police officers from neighbouring forces come and teach you, they really do put you through your paces. Both
Theory and practical was outstanding and you complete the 2 day training having completed single, 2 and 3 car
tactical convoy driving. This is an amazing bolt on to the CP course as many other companies dont offer police
training.

Tactical Fire Arms (TFA) Slovenia (Week 3)
The Tactical Fire Arms phase is amazing and a perfect way to end a perfect 3 weeks. The skills you acquire and put
to practice that week is a testimony to the instructors Keith and Tony (T-Bone)who undoubtedly make the week as
enjoyable as possible with no slack on safety whilst on the ranges. Again having such highly respected CPO

instructors, both having years of SAS / Military experience is an absolute pleasure to work with. Not only do they
deliver 1st class range work but in the evenings socialise with the course, making it all about team work. We fired
the Glock Pistol and AK 47 individually and at close quarters, fire and manoeuvre exercises and embus/debus drills
which is exhilarating. We also had an opportunity to handle and fire a Magnum .45, Remington Pump Action
Shotgun and MP5 Machine Gun.
The accommodation, food and hospitality whilst in Slovenia were outstanding and I still keep in touch with the
Slovenian instructors to date. The hotel staff were friendly and always helpful and friendships were quickly formed.

What happened next?
When you complete the course, youre not alone, Longmoor still provide help and support if needed assisting you in
finding work. All of the staff at Longmoor has showed great support for me since completing the course, including
CV writing, where to find work, whos currently recruiting etc. I adjusted my CV as recommended by Keith and Jo
and sent it into one of the worlds largest security companys looking for Hostile operative in Iraq. In December this
year (2012) my CV was selected for interview and from there I was successful and was offered Deputy Team
Leader in Iraq, to be deployed In Jan 2013.

Having left the military in 2007 most companies wont hire you as you dont have current hostile experience, nor did
I reach the dizzy heights of Sgt/WO. I have no doubt that my credibility for employment was enhanced due to the
Longmoor training and their reputation out in the CP world of employers. Without the Longmoor training I feel that
I wouldnt have got the role. If you train with the best you get hired by the best.

In Summary
Overall this is a amazing course provided by dedicated Instructors of the highest quality, K (FPOSi), Richie (CP Phase)
Keith Wright and Tony (T-Bone)(TFA), are true professionals and I have already recommended this course to many
friends looking at getting into the CP world when they leave the forces.
An incredible course, worth every penny! Thanks to all the training and admin staff at Longmoor

Andrew Scott Cook (Cooky) CPO
HECPO course Nov 2012

I have recently completed the Hostile Environment Close Protection (HECPO) Course with Longmoor Security Ltd,
which is part of the Westminster Group at Heythrop Park in Oxfordshire. The course is set over 22 days and covers
all the modules you require for the close protection industry and SIA License.

The first week covers the First Person on Scene Intermediate course (FPOSI) and is conducted over 5 days. This was
taught by Trev Hazzell who is a highly professional ex-military and trained Para Medic Instructor with vast knowledge
and experience in hostile situations. His lessons are extremely well structured and balanced for all levels of student.
The package comes to its own in the last two days when the practical applications of all the drills taught are brought
together covering various likely scenarios. This is a 1st class course and would recommend it to anybody who is
currently working or starting in the CP world.

The second week comprises of the Close Protection phase, this is run over 10 days. The first few days are set in the
class room with power point presentations and cover surveillance, threat and risk assessments, personnel safety,
reconnaissance, venue search procedures, foot and vehicle drills, CP teamwork and briefings. There after the
practical confirmation of Close protection foot drills and surveillance are conducted in Heythrop Park and Banbury
town centre, where the drills were honed and finely polished. The vehicle contact drills are conducted in Heythrop
Park using a range of vehicles namely Lexus, Audi A6 and VW Passat, enhanced with the use of the Glock 17 pistols
(BB gun). This gives you the opportunity to enhance your team work prior to the two exercises later in the course.
Throughout this phase the lessons are professionally conducted and structured in a manner so all students
understand fully regardless of previous experience.

2 days driver training quickly followed where Police Advance Driving instructors take over and you wont be
disappointed. This will enhance your driving skills, techniques and situational awareness of the road. This again is
conducted in a professional and well-structured manner throughout. As a team you will conduct two car and three
car escort drills .This section of the course was very enjoyable, made even more so by the quality of instructors.

The last element is the start of the exercise phase which is split in two. Firstly is an 8hr test exercise to confirm and
iron out any problems you may have as a team. Then the second is a 24hr test exercise, where you are given from
Saturday evening through to Sunday evening to conduct Recces, compile all your reports, collate all your intelligence
and prepare and deliver/receive orders ready to protect your principle for the day.
Team work is essential at this stage however you will enjoy it.

Tactical Fire Arms (TFA) Slovenia
The Tactical Fire Arms phase is amazing and to see all fellow students acquiring a high level of CQB skills after only a
few days is again a testimony to the instructors. We fired the Glock Pistol and AK 47 individually and at close

DL Musto. Ex WO2 British Army - July 2012

I embarked on the Longmoor HECPO course on 16
th
April 2012. As a civilian I was VERY cautious and apprehensive
knowing I was told by various people I would not get any work out of it! I ignored what people told me and took the
plunge. I found myself on a course with 90% Ex-Military/Current Military guys which was initially daunting, however
after settling in and interacting with the guys I began to Gel with them while learning from them at the same time
which for me was very invaluable! I didnt even know what Dhobi or SOPs meant which I would say is an advantage in
CP otherwise you will look a little odd!

From the beginning I went into this course with the correct mental attitude. I wanted it so I was going to get it! I took
each subject as it came and gave it 100%, listening to instruction from the VERY knowledgeable instructors and
following procedures given. Richie made me feel comfortable from the off and ALWAYS made himself available to
discuss concerns or help if I was struggling with any aspect of the course! There were times I was sat in my room
thinking to myself I cant do this! Deep desire gave me the determination to succeed! If I can give anyone embarking
on this course as a civilian advice it is listen to Richie, Jo Fowler and Keith. These people have made it possible for
me to enjoy a very successful career in Close Protection. The course is hard work and very demanding but so is a
career in CP so with that in mind Longmoor prepare you for it effectively and efficiently!

The hard work does not stop there! After following advice and guidelines from everyone at Longmoor I have not been
out of work! I have had one job after the other. I have got guys working for me on tasks and I am now finding myself
on a flight to Los Angeles all expenses paid! On top of adhoc jobs I have a fulltime position earning me in excess of
40K per year. I now have the opportunity to earn up to 88K should future plans work out.

All of this from a cautious civilian who was told he would never get any work! In my eyes Longmoor made this
possible. Without them, their advice, and guidance throughout the course and after I would not be where I am today!

If you are a civilian, never think it cant happen to me. It can and will if you have the right positive mental approach to
your course and listen to your instructors! I have been asked to return to Longmoor during courses to have a chat to
the delegates and share my experiences during interviews and actual high profile experience on tasks. Delegates
have the opportunity to ask me questions about how I succeeded and the methods I used. My methods will be taught
to you by Longmoor because they taught me!
Without question I recommend this course and I personally thank Richie, Keith, Jo and Jeff for helping me to
succeed in this very cut throat industry! I hope to see you at the academy!

Richie, Jo, Keith & Jeff THANK YOU!
Ashley Scholefield CPO
April 2012

Having completed the corporate Close Protection Course in Feb/March 2012, I can highly recommend this course
to anyone leaving the services or from civilian life. The course itself is run over 15 continues days and is located in
the Heythrop park Leisure / hotel complex near Banbury. The accommodation is of a very high standard and the
hotel staff are very accommodating to your needs.

The course itself then is split into 2 sections the first being the First Person on the scene intermediate
course (FPOSI). The FPOSI is run over the first 5 days of the course and run by an extremely knowledgeable ex
Special Forces medic. It is delivered in an extremely well run method, allowing the student to both learn the
theoretical aspect of the course and carry it out practically. An excellent course that allows the student to gain
great confidence in their abilities to carry out life saving First Aid both in the corporate and hostile environment. I
cannot recommend this course enough for anybody wishing to work in the Close Protection industry.

The second phase of the course is the Close Protection course, this is run over 10 days initially with an
extra 6 days following this for weapons training and hostile environment work, the weapons phase is run in Slovenia.
The instructors are excellent, The Lead Instructor is an ex RAF police close protection expert who was trained at
RMP CPU Longmoor and has a vast wealth of experience operating in hostile environments overseas. The TFA
instructor (and Chief Operating Officer of Longmoor Security) has an exceptional military background from the
Special Forces. The wealth of knowledge both these instructors bring is exceptional. The course delivery itself is first
class and really nurtures a good learning environment. The course content covers the litigious aspect of working in

the close protection industry, examines the current threats and how to make a threat assessment for your principal,
conflict resolution and personnel safety, route selection, venues, venue search, walking and vehicle drills.

Driving is covered by current and ex police whom deliver a brilliant 2 day package that will improve your driving skills
no end. The corporate course concludes with 2 exercises that allow you to put your skills to the test in real time,
these exercises are very demanding and call upon the students to put into practice all they have learned.

Upon completion of the exercise you sit the SIA license exam , which I believe I was well prepared for thanks to the
instruction received.
In short this course is excellent and I highly recommend it to anyone wishing to work in the close protection industry.

S Burgham ex RAF Police Sgt. Mar 2012

I have just completed the Hostile Environment Close Protection (HECPO) Course
With Longmoor Security, which is part of the Westminster Group. The course is set over 22 days and covers all
the modules you require for the close protection
industry and SIA License .

The 1st week commenced on the 27th Feb 2012 The course is conducted
at Heythrop Park in Oxfordshire and I must say you will not find a better place and surroundings for a course of this
standard anywhere and would highly recommend this course or this company, for any other courses, that may
interest you.

I have been out of the Army for just over 12 years and was a little worried that I would be rusty on a few things. The
1st week covers the First Person On Scene Intermediate (FPOSI) course and was outstanding, the instructor is
highly trained with vast knowledge and experience in hostile situations, the lessons are well placed throughout the
week with many different scenarios based on past events. I have been on medical courses before, and have gained
some good skills, but this was the best medical course I have ever attended, the instructor is in a league of his own
in this field. The use of oxygen and the de-fibrillation machine is a must for the hostile industry and to put this into
practise was great,
This was a great start to the course and it was delivered with true Professionalism by KM who is ex military and a
trained Para Medic. This was a 1st class course and I would recommend it to anybody who is looking to go into the
cp world.

Part of the course covers the world of surveillance and CP this is a big wake up call for all students who are on the
course. Again the instructors are first class and dedicate lots of time on one on one situations with you, the first two
days are set in the class room with power point lessons, which is fully informative of technical equipment, situational
awareness, methods of operation, surveillance techniques, ant surveillance drills, again time is spent at slow pace so
you fully understand your drills, all competences are covered that are required by the CPO
for your Security Industry Authority (SIA) License.

You will then put all this knowledge into practise, with foot drills around the grounds of Heythrop Park. On the fourth
day we practise our surveillance drills in Banbury which I must say was very interesting, and enjoyable, lots learned at
this stage.

Another element of the course is spent with vehicles, this will enhance your driving skills, techniques and situation
awareness. This is a gradual progression from the start through to you conducting two car and three car drills.
At this stage you will be trained in ambush drills front and rear, De-bus and Em-bus drills and three car VIP convoy
driving, which you will totally enjoy. Again
The level of the instructors is 1st class, Police Advance Driving instructors take over at this stage and you wont be
disappointed .This section of the course was very enjoyable and relaxing, made even more so by the quality of the
instructors, and the vehicles used :- Audi A6, B6 Armoured Jaguar , Lexus, and VW Passatt

The last element is the start of the exercise phase which is split into two parts. The first is an eight hour test where
you are required to conduct Recces and issue a quick set of orders, ready to take your principle out for the day! This
day has many surprise changes to it, to keep everyone on their toes however a great eye opener for the final
exercise.

The final hurdle (final exercise) is then upon you and to be honest you have an air of confidence around you by now.
You are given from Saturday evening through to Sunday evening to conduct Recces, compile all your reports, collate
all your intelligence and prepare and deliver/receive orders from the Ops room you have established. Once you have
prepared all the kit and equipment, completed rehearsals and finished your own personal admin then it is time to
start. Be prepared for an intensive 24hrs but extremely rewarding at the end, This part of the course is very
demanding but team work is essential at this stage and you will enjoy it.

For those doing the hostile course the Tactical Fire Arms ( TFA) is held Slovenia and you wont disappointed, the
location of this course is fantastic and a real gem of a Country .

The first day is covered with dry drills on the Glock 17 with stripping and assembling and safety of the weapon, then
on to dry foot drills until lunch then straight in to the firing of the weapon. You will be taught to fire from different
positions like never before, Two days is spent on this pistol range learning many different skills. You will also get the
chance to fire a 357 Magnum. A great two days and once again 1st class by the instructors Keith and Richie.
We then moved to a different range to start the second part of the course with AK variants and Glock 17s .This
was the best part of the course for me, firing AK 47 on the move from multi positions and firing the Glock when you
had stoppage at speed was great, the last day we conducted live firing vehicle anti ambush drills and finished of with
a shooting competition, and a shoot using the MP5 at short range on Automatic. A great fire arms package and a
very friendly country, and the very best trainers

In Summary

This is truly a very well put together HECPO course and the standards set by the
Staff is of the highest Class, Keith Wright and Richie Barclay are true professionals, I have gained many different
skills and feel confident going into the CP Industry now having attended this course, well done to Longmoor, I would
have no hesitation in recommending this course anyone.
