Due to the lengthy
struggle for Dutch freedom
this volume concludes
before the English openly
join in the struggle.
Readers can wait with
anxious anticipation for the
republication of By
England's Aid, which
chronicles the remaining
years of the struggle.
_Readers should not be
disappointed with this
volume. In the midst of
besieged cities and hand to
hand combat on ice, in
tunnels, heroic compassion
and godly leadership shine
with a brilliant glow in the
darkness of warfare. No
doubt, night readers will
lose sleep as they read just
one more chapter in this
fast-moving account.

chapters, the author
examines the importance of
the influences that help

and how to biblically

how to rework parenting

The important subjects of
communication and biblical
discipline are also covered. I
have underlined many
paragraphs of these chapters
in my book. I will quote
only one: The finest art of
communications is not
learning how to express
your thoughts. It is learning
to draw out the thoughts of
another. Your objective in
communication must be to
understand your child, not
simply to have your child
understand you. Many
parents never learn these
skills. They never discover
how to help their children
articulate their thoughts and
feelings II (p.96). The
parents of teenagers will
most likely appreciate the
wise counsel given to help
train those of that age. The
book is very practical
throughout. Its usefulness is
enhanced with the
application questions at the
end of each chapter. This
volume could provide the
basis for a husband and
wife to work through
together or to utilize in a
home Bible study. A

stages of preparation. I
would have appreciated a
chapter devoted to the
importance of the husband!
wife relationship in the
family context. If parents are
not properly, from the heart,
loving and submitting in
accordance with Scripture,
there will be great difficulty
in jointly shepherding the
hearts of their children. This
book is one that pastors
need to have on hand and
recommend to parents.
Families will be biblically
stronger and (jod will be
glorified as these principles
are consistently practiced by
families. Q
