APZ 212 40 provides the means to
maximize the capacity needed for larger
switch nodes. APZ 212 40 is prepared for
the Inter Platform Network (IPN) that
will provide the AXE with a fast Ethernet
connection in the central processor for
connection to the I/O and other
processors in a Multi-pro system.

The memory in APZ 212 40 is preconfigured from factory.
The max. configuration is a total of 8 GW(16) of which ~7.7 GW(16) can be used for PS, RS and DS.
Approximately 0.3 GW(16) is always needed for internal CP software.
Configurations will be available with the following sizes of total memory:
Small:

2 GW(16)

Medium:

4 GW(16)

Large:

8 GW(16)

It will not be possible to extend memory on the CPU board. A new CPU Magazine with a CPU board
configured with larger memory have to be ordered from factory and then the whole CPU Magazine is
replaced.

APZ 212 40 does not support the IOG11/20 or APG30/33.

APG40 or later I/O system is required for operation with APZ 212 40.

Only serial RP bus (RPB-S) is supported.

The Program Store (PS) memory, Reference Store (RS) memory and Data Store (DS) memory are
allocated to the CPU board. No special memory board is required for the RS, PS and DS memory.

The CP is compatible on source code (PLEX) level with APZ 212 30.

The APZ-APT signal interface is retained.

The Operator interface is common with APZ 212 30.
