THE DARK CAMPAIGN OF
GARRY KASPAROV (PART 1)
THE SCANDALS COME ONE AFTER
THE OTHER IN KASPAROVS CAMP.
THE FORMER WORLD CHAMPION IS
NOT ONLY BUSY TRYING TO COV-
ER HIS OWN MISDOINGS BUT ALSO
DESPERATE TO COVER THOSE OF HIS
ASSOCIATES AS WELL.
With their actions, Silvio Danailov and Vlad-
imir Sakotic have become a heavy burden on
Kasparovs back, further undermining Gar-
rys attempt to hijack the FIDE Presidency.
The scandal which exploded a few months
ago in the chess federation of Montenegro
(MCF) resulted in the resignation of Sakot-
ic from his position as MCF President. But
this did not affect his position as Executive
Director of the European Chess Union (ECU),
where he continues to hold his offce due to
the protection provided by his good friend
Silvio Danailov.
The chess federation of Montenegro fled
a few days ago a criminal complaint to
the Prosecutor against Vladimir Sakotic,
claiming abuse of the offcial position and
fnancial damage he inficted on the Chess
Federation of Montenegro adding that ev-
idence was attached alleging that the chess
federation of Montenegro was fnancially
damaged by more than 100,000 in the year
2013. The evidence that the state author-
ities of Montenegro have found is possibly
the tip of the iceberg and the story might
drive to investigations of also other ECU
event contracts where Danailov or Sakotic
were involved.
How this incredible duo of Danailov and
Sakotic are cooking bidding procedures of
certain ECU events is evident by the follow-
ing letter. It was a defnite bribe attempt of
the President of the Slovenian Chess
Federation, Mr Tomaz Subotic, from Vlad-
imir Sakotic who was trying to secure that
Slovenias vote goes to Silvio Danailov.
As you would read below, these people do
not respect anything and, most of all, they
dont respect the European federations
which are members of the ECU. In order
to grab votes, they boldly promise events
which are under a bidding procedure with-
out caring at all about the other competing
federations.
It should be noted that the President of
the Slovenian Chess Federation, Mr Tomaz
Subotic, refused the offer of Sakotic! The
original letter is in Serbian (linked here) and
the English translation follows:

Dear Mr Suboti,
I hope you will not mind my
addressing you directly regarding the
elections in the European Chess Union. I
had the opportunity to meet you in per-
son during the opening ceremony of the
European Teams Championship in Roga-
ka Slatina, when I was performing the
duties of deputy chief arbiter.
Namely, two months ago, we sub-
mitted to your secretary Ms Ana Srebr-
ni our proposal for co-operation with
your valued Federation in the name of
the election camp of Mr Danailov. We
exposed our propositions and on May 20
we received the feedback that our offer
had been accepted and that the Chess
Federation of Slovenia would support Mr
Danailov.
From our side, we have also
started with the fulfilment of the
promises given. As agreed with Ana, we
have prepared two bids for competitions
in 2016: European Senior Teams Champi-
onship and European School Champion-
ship.
Nevertheless, considering that
the competition for the main job Eu-
ropean Youth U8-18 Championship has
been very weak, at the last moment we
decided to give this bid as well in the
name of Slovenia. I denominate this
competition as main job, because ap-
proximately 2000 individuals (partic-
ipants and accompanying persons) will
participate and potential earning of
your Federation would be at least EUR
100,000. Competitors for this competition
are Prague (CZE) and Kusadasi (TUR), but
if we win the elections, with certain
preliminary business agreements, we
could guarantee to your Federation to
win this competition as well.
Also, we have already en-
sured for you to get one competition
- a friend from Greece will retire the
application and Slovenia will be the
organizer of Senior Teams Championship
in 2016 (approximately 400 participants
and accompanying persons), which guar-
antees the earning to your Federation
of EUR 20,000 minimum. A similar com-
petition has been organized in ibenik
this year.
We have paid in bid fees for all
the three competitions EUR 1,800 (1,000 +
500 + 300) from our financial resources,
in order to avoid financial charges to
your Federation. From the above you can
conclude that we have already ensured
important competitions and financial
income for your Federation and that we
have kept most of our promises. The rea-
son I am addressing you is the election
of your delegate on the Election assem-
bly of European Chess Union:
Namely, your decision to choose
Mr Boris Kutin as delegate could direct-
ly change your previous decision and
our agreement. Although I do not coop-
erate with Mr Kutin since 2009, I shall
not say a single bad word about him.
But it is completely unreal to expect
from him to support Mr Danailov on the
secret voting, being a member of the
election camp of Mr Ilyumzhinov and Mr
Azmaiparashvili. Mr Kutin met our rival
candidate Mr Azmaiparashvili in Sa-
rajevo two days ago (July 14 and 15) and
lobbied in his favour, as he does it in
Slovenia as well (although with a weak-
er bid than ours).
I would not like this suggestion
to be considered as intervention in the
internal affairs of your
Federation, but only as explanation: Mr
Kutin as delegate definitely affects our
agreement to support Mr Danailov. In
this moment, when we have kept prac-
tically all our promises, we cannot do
anything but to refer to the promise
and appeal to keep the written decision
as of May 21, according to which Ms Ana
Srebrni will be your delegate.
If after all you choose anoth-
er option, we cannot and do not want
to withdraw the favours we made. I am
looking forward that you will take my
letter in consideration.
Sincerely,
Vladimir akotic
Executive director of the European
Chess Union

KASPAROV AND DANAILOV
ACCUSED OF CORRUPTION.
AGAIN.
Former head of the English Chess Fed-
eration makes allegations against the
13th World Chess champions support-
ers in attempted bribery.
With a few days remaining until the
World Chess Federation (FIDE) presi-
dential election, the corruption scan-
dals continue to resurface. Now the
Kasparov team has been accused of
attempted bribery by renowned busi-
nessmen, former head of the English
Chess Federation Andrew Paulson.
Its not the frst time when the Kaspar-
ov team fnds itself in the center of
a scandal: Few months ago, a secret
agreement between Garry Kasparov
and FIDE Secretary Genetal Ignatius
Leong was published by the New York
Times. According to the contract, Mr.
Kasparov promises Mr. Leong a sub-
stantial amount of money for bringing
10+ votes, including that of Mr. Leong
himself. According to the US, the EU
and Singapore anticorruption legis-
lation as well as FIDE code of ethics,
this constitutes a major breach of law
and likely to cause criminal proceed-
ings against both parties of the illegal
agreement. The information has been
fled to the Singaporean and the US
authorities that consider fling bribery
charges against both Kasparov and
Leong.
The major scandal, however, didnt
stop Mr. Kasparov from further activity.
Garry Kasparov is now being accused
of corruption by former English Chess
Federation president Andrew Paulson.
Mr. Paulson, told FIDEFIRST that he
received a call from infuential chess
manager Silvio Danailov, who is part
of Kasparovs team, with an offer to
discuss under which terms he would
be willing to support the 13th World
Chess champion. Mr. Paulson remind-
ed him that he has only business ties
with FIDE, no political interests, and is
not supporting either candidate.
Soon afterward, he received an email
from Garry Kasparov, confrming
that Silvio Danailov had called at his
request. Mr. Paulson then asked him
to explain the situation of their mu-
tual acquaintanceNorwegian Chess
Federation president Joran Aulin-Jans-
son, who had come to Garry Kasparovs
campaign headquarters. Andrew Paul-
son assures that the former openly
and clearly said that the goal of the
meeting was to give him money. The
English Chess Federation president re-
jected the offer, subsequently sending
an appropriate statement to FIDE.
This is not the frst time Danailov and
Paulson have been part of the despute.
In 2012, Paulson accused Danailov in
trying to obtain $50,000 for arranging
meetings with offcials in Madrid.
Silvio,
I fear that no one is interested in
this except your team. There is no
smoking gun. No one did anything
wrong. No one cares. The election is
over.
I thought from your offer that your
team wanted to work with me to promote
chess (which I might have considered),
but it turns out that all you want is
to buy my betrayal of your opponent
in hopes of getting a few votes. This
is stupid tactics: you should have
appealed to my better nature, not my
baser nature. You dont have enough
money to bribe me!
Yesterday, Nigel Short re-posted on
Facebook his New in Chess article that
presents your weak case, weakly. That
your lap-dog attacks me personally is
another tactical mistake when you are
approaching me for help! As non-na-
tive English speakers, you should be
told: the article is bad writing and
sloppy thinking. The only strong case
Nigel makes, inadvertently, is that
promising young chess players should
get a good education before dedicating
their lives to chess!
Regards,
Andrew
READ IN THE NEXT ISSUE: LIKELY CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS
AGAINST IGNATIUS LEONG AND GARRY KASPAROV IN
SINGAPORE AND THE U.S.
As we can read from the above, Tur-
key and the Czech federations are not
considered a problem by Sakotic if
Danailov wins the elections. And by
this way the federation of Slovenia
would be able to earn 100,000 euros,
according to the calculations of Sakot-
ic. Unbelievable audacity!
In addition, Sakotic was also prom-
ising another event to Slovenia, for
which a Greek organiser is bidding,
claiming that his friend from Greece
will retire. It is obvious that Sakotic
was trying to fool the President of the
Slovenian Chess Federation because
in Greece hardly anyone even wants to
see the photo of Mr Sakotic.
So this is the TRANSPARENCY which
Garry Kasparov and his camp try to
bring to FIDE.
This is probably the last chance for
Garry Kasparov to renounce his con-
tract with Leong and to also cut his
umbilical cord with Danailov and his
associates who support him as ECU
President. It is the last chance for Gar-
ry to exit the darkness of his Tromso
ad posters.
