This coming week
Nicky and I will both be
away at the Diocesan
Leadership Conference.
Nicky will be presenting
a workshop on discipling young people
and I will be there as a general
participant.
This coming Saturday is
ANZAC, a day we remember not so
much wa but rather the sacrifice that
so many made for our and others
freedom. I would encourage you to
attend the Dawn Parade at 7am on
Saturday, the gates unveiling at 2pm at
Dixon Park and or the Blackball parade
at 11:30am.
Today we hold our AGM to
discuss how the Parish has gone over
the last year and to plan and prepare
for the coming year. I would encourage
all parishioners to attend and to let
their voice be heard where necessary.
COGS PUBLIC MEETING
COGS short for Community
Organisations Grants Scheme give
away around about $230,000 each
year to community groups on the Coast
and on Fri 24th at 11:30am they get
THE WAY YOUTH SERVICE
the chance to report back to the
community on what they have done
and visa versa for groups to raise local
issues. Anyone is welcome to attend.
The Youth Project that employs Nicky
is a recipient of COGS funding.
ANDRE RIEU
The Salvation Army ladies are inviting
the women of Cobden-Runanga parish
to an afternoon's entertainment on
Tues 28th April from 1-3:30pm at the
Salvation Army Hall. The entertainment
will be a Andre Rieu DVD and
afternoon tea. The cost is $2 and the
proceeds will go a Sri Lankan village in
Hunasgiriya. Please RSVP to Sue at
768-5045 (day) or 768-6613 (eve) by
24th April.
EASTER CAMP
Easter Camp went very well. The
numbers we took were less than last
year but that made for a more intimate
group that pulled together and became
closer. The speakers were very good
and a number of the young people
came away challenged in their thinking.

This year the youth project launched a for you and your spouse to have some
6:30pm youth service run out of the one-on-one time, enjoy some excellent
Baptist church on Sunday nights. The
service has gone extremely well with
usually around 25-30 people in
attendance. The young people provide
teaching, and indulge in a yummy
dessert. The course comes from the
same group that does the Alpha
course. All discussions are between
live music through their own band, you and your spouse only, so privacy is
occasional testimonies as well as a completely respected. Registration by
good challenging speaker. Please April 29th. Please ring Holy Trinity
Church (768-7508) to sign up. Cost is
keep the service in your prayers.
$20 per couple to cover materials.
MARRIAGE COURSE Cobden will be offering the course as
Beginning May 6 at 7.30pm and well in the future but in the short term
continuing for 8 weeks, Holy Trinity here is an opportunity for couples.
