At vestry a few weeks
ago we discussed ways
in which we might raise
the profile of missions
within the parish. We
already give quite widely to missions as
a parish but it often happens in the
background without people being fully
aware of it. To this end we talked about
a number of possibilities and at the
forefront was the idea of making the
role of the Missions representative
more proactive and beyond just the
work of the Anglican Board of Missions
and having a second person in
Cobden. Other ideas include a
Missions page on the website profiling
our missions work and highlighting
special appeals, a possible regular
email update to parishioners with email
and regular reporting back spots in the
services and newsletters. Let us know
what you think.

INVITE PEOPLE HOME FOR A
POTLUCK MEAL - SUN 5th of JULY
The Wardens and vicar are keen to
promote an even greater sense of
community within the parish and have
designated Sunday the 5th of July as
day when everyone in the parish is
encouraged to either host or be a guest
at a potluck meal with other
parishioners.
There will be sheets at the back of
each church where you can indicate
whether you want to be a host and how
many guests you can handle, or
whether you simply want to be a guest.
Please fill these in over the next few
weeks. Liaise with the hosts re: time,
special dietary requirements, etc.
Lawn Mowing Roster

At the back of the church are sheets to
of about 8 folk from several churches would like to perform. Time constraints
have been experimenting with praying
for our community while walking with a
prayer partner around our town. We
are now ready to expand our numbers
may limit you to just one or two items
but you can list several so put them in
order of priority. There are also invites
to hand to folk. Please bring a dessert
and blanket the town. If you would like to share as well.

Church on Tues, June 16th at 6:30PM.

PARISH CONCERT - 11th JULY some funding to help guys get there.
Last year we ran an amazing Parish Transport and accommodation are
Concert and this year it promises to be free. See Tim. Register as a group as
even better. We've limited the length of "Greymouth Menz" at the discounted
