The Neale family
vacated the vicarage on
Saturday and we have
begun the process of
advertising for tenants.
There is already quite a bit of interest
and the vestry are hopeful to have the
place tenanted by the end of June.
July 5th is St Thomas' Patronal festival
and I will be doing a pulpit swap with
Marge for that weekend.
INVITE PEOPLE HOME FOR A
POTLUCK MEAL - SUN 5th of JULY
The Wardens and vicar are keen to
promote an even greater sense of
community within the parish and have
designated Sunday the 5th of July as
day when everyone in the parish is
encouraged to either host or be a guest
at a potluck meal with other
parishioners. There will be sheets at
the back of each church where you can
indicate whether you want to be a host
and how many guests you can handle,
or whether you simply want to be a
guest. Please fill these in over the next
few weeks. Liaise with the hosts re:
time, special dietary requirements, etc.

NEW YOUTH CO-ORDINATOR
Bishop Richard is delighted to
announce that Luke Shaw has
accepted a letter of offer to be the
Diocesan Youth Coordinator. Luke has
worked with youth since 1998 and from
1999 – 2005 he was the full time youth
pastor at Bishopdale Community
Anglican Church. Since 2005 he has
been the full time youth pastor at St
George’s Anglican Church in Epsom,
Auckland. Luke is married to Demelza
and has two children. Luke will begin
working in his new role on the 20th July
2009.
PARISH NOMINATORS
Whenever there is a vacancy in a
parish the Diocese works with four
local appointees to help select the next
vicar. These folk are selected by vestry
each year and this year they are:
Nancy Holman, Trevor Johnston,
Stewart Nimmo and Barry Smithson.
Please note they are only called into
service when there is a vacancy which
isn't the case at present.

PARISH CONCERT - 11th JULY has worked well with the raffle, fashion
Last year we ran an amazing Parish parade, street collection and garage
Concert and this year it promises to be sale all going very well. A huge thank
even better. We've limited the length of you to all those who sponsored young
the concert and therefore the number people, supported the events and gave
of items. Supper also will be at the goods, time and services for the
end. At the back of the church are events, garage sale and raffle. You
sheets to note your name and the really have helped make a difference
items you would like to perform. Time and it has been much appreciated.
