Level Overview
The design of the level is based on underground lab, an illegal experiment creating super
soldiers. Aarons brother was involved due to the chaos and hes been held as a key subject.
The level does contain puzzles as the player proceeds forward and will encounter enemies
during events.

Player (Aaron)
Aaron is known as a detective, he discovered there was chaos going around the city and
found the clues whereabouts his brother is being held. The player will start right at the
beginning when he enters the lab.

Enemies
There are two events that will be guarded by elite soldiers and the players objective is to
eliminate them.

Key Events
Event 0
The player will know the first door is locked as it requires a passcode and it is somewhere
around in the reception area.
Event 1
There are three door needs to be examined, two of them are locked and another one is
unlocked for the player to progress.
Event 2
In the second room, an alarm will be triggered for the invasion and weapon will be there for
the player to pick it up.
Event 3
The player will have three soldiers to fight: one with guarding the core reactor. The fourth
door is sealed and it needs fusion reactor in order to access the door.
Event 4
Once the player gets through,will encounter a wall. The wall can be taken down by using a
dynamite.

Event 5
More enemies will approach to assassinate the player as there are four enemies to eliminate.
Event 6
The player will reach the other side of the hallway, the door on the left will be locked it
requires a switch for the player to unlock it. The path on the right will lead straight to the
elevator, but its been disabled, the player must find a way up to reach the elevator.
Event 7
When the player reaches the top of the elevator there are two switches, one of them unlocks
the door and the other one lower elevator down the ground instead falling off the edge. When
going in the room a cut scene will show the player somehow needs to pass ten super elite
soldiers.
Puzzle
There are few puzzles does fall in some events like unlocking the doors, finding fusion
reactor to unlock door and finding a way to pass through the fractured wall.
Pick up items
Certain areas the player can pick items and for puzzles scenario as well.
Directional Cutscenes/camera
The first cutscene is triggered when the player interacting the switch unlocks one of
the doors.
Second scene will show three enemies are appearing in each corner to attack the
player
Third scene is an ending sequence, shows the players path has been blocked by ten
super elite soldiers.

Map Overview
Top Down Map/ Underground lab

Changes
This is the new top down map for the level, although, it lacked of context and didnt have
much objectives for the player which made less fun. Decided to add more objectives and the
map scale was adjusted to balance the gameplay time by making sure level was not too big.

Objectives/obstacles
1. Passcode and door locked
2. Switch to unlock door
3. The weapon is in a place for a player to carry
4. To unlock the main door
5. Kill the enemies.
6. Power core is need to be placed in order to restore power

8. Dynamite can be taken
9. Fractured wall can be taken out by using dynamite
10. A switch to trigger the dynamite
11. More enemies will attack the player
12. The door is locked and needs to be unlocked

Sketch up

So I have transferred the template map from photoshop to sketch-up, extruding the outline of
the map and to see how big is the level. The map scale seems fine, but there were too many
blocks were not necessarily needed, scale of the blocks.

Level Walkthrough
Event 0

1. The door is locked and will require a passcode.


2. Passcode is on the desk near microscopic.

Event 1

1. This door is accessible and it has a switch to unlock the second door.
2. The second door has another switch to unlock the third door and a weapon for the
player to carry.
3. Third door is the primary objective for the player to unlock in order to progress
through.

Event 2

1. A first switch to unlock the second door.

An alarm has been triggered for the invasion.


1. The second switch will unlock the third door.
2. There is a weapon for a player to carry.

Event 3

This area is most appealing towards the players visual as super elite soldiers are being
processed.
When the player reaches this event, a cutscene will trigger and show the enemies are
appearing towards the player (1,2,3).
3. Power core is missing and will be needed in order to unlock the 4th door.

1. There is a power core supplied in door number 1, but will be guarded by an enemy.

Event 4

1. There is a wall blocking players path, but it can be taken out with a dynamite.
2. The dynamite is near around the boxes and will need to be picked up. Place it near to
the wall where red translucent is showing above the picture.
3. When the dynamite is in place, there is a button to trigger the bomb.
Event 5

1. The player will approach towards the enemies as they will attack the player.

Event 6

1. This room leads to the lift/elevator that has no power. The elevator has a switch to
unlock second door, player will need to use catwalk in order to reach the elevator at
the top.
2. This door will be locked, but there is a switch nearby the elevator.

1. Catwalks for player to jump on.


2. A switch to unlock the door.
3. Lowers lift to the ground floor.

Event 7

When the player proceeds to an unlocked door, it will trigger a cutscene to show the player
will be facing 11 enemies in front of him.
