was
the Wordless Book Visualized, a five-lesson flashcard series which
communicated God's redeeming love. Each day focused on one
color of the Wordless Book. On the second day, we talked about
Adam and Eve and how sinned entered the world. Everything
that was perfect was tarnished by sin. Though it broke His heart,
He had a plan to make everything perfect again. This story was a
reminder to me that missions began with the heart of God. It first
beat in His heart before it began to beat in you and me. Our God
is a mission minded God. If this were not so, there would be no
reason to take the news of his glory to the lost, news of his wonders
to one and all! Psalm 96:3 (MSG) Therefore we are to Go! This was
the theme of our International Conference this year and it has
been a reminder to me about the urgency of the Gospel. No one is
exempt from the responsibility to evangelize the lost. We either go
or send but we cannot remain uninvolved. We can pray, give or
go so that the Gospel can be taken to all the world so that
everyone can have the opportunity to hear and believe (Mark
16:15). Everyone includes not only adults but our children as well.
Our family chose to go and while Hawaii is most often not seen as
a mission field, there are many adults and children who need to
hear the good news of His salvation. The Gospel cannot save until
it has first been believed, it cannot be believed until it has been
heard and it cannot be heard until it is first preached! (Romans
10:14) So wherever you are, I encourage you to go and share the
news of His glory. Sharing the good news does not necessarily
require you to leave your state, city or even require a passport!
You just need to be obedient to the Lord, share His Word
wherever He would have you to do so.

Mahalo nui loa for your support.
Our family would like to extend a very sincere Mahalo to each of
you for your continued support of our ministry with CEF
in
Hawaii. We could not be here without your support. Thank you for
your continued faithfulness in giving and praying. We visited one of
our supporting churches when we attended the CEF International
Conference and they have decided to double their support this
coming fall. We also regained a previous supporter. Our church
plant here in Hawaii has also partnered with us and has begun
supporting our ministry. We praise the Lord for the additional
support He has provided. Thank you again for giving and
continually praying for our family.

Philippine Pastor on Maui
In our previous newsletter, I gave a brief update on
ministry happening on the other islands. I also
mentioned that I had plans of returning to these
islands in hopes of doing follow up and pioneer
new ministry opportunities. In April, I did return to
these islands and did just that. Our family spent a
week working with 2 churches on Maui and 1 on
Molokai. I also was able to speak with 13 pastors
about CEF ministry while there. I assisted one
church on Maui with an outreach since they had no
one to do their childrens program. The Lord
allowed 150 children and their parents to hear a clear
presentation of the Gospel and three prayed to
receive Him as their Saviour! Each child who
attended was given Gospel Tracts and a Truth
Chasers
International Conference. We did not plan to attend
since it was too costly and we had not received any
responses from our request for support for this
conference. However, in mid April, responses from
supporters came, along with several checks
designated for us to attend the conference. It was a
great surprise and blessing. It was truly one of the
best conferences we have attended. It was a
wonderful time of refreshment, encouragement and
inspiration. There were over 1100 missionaries who
attended representing 85 countries. The speakers,
workshops and times of fellowship, were something
Kristin and I really needed. The theme of the
conference was Go! It was a tremendous
encouragement and very uplifting to hear of what
God is doing around the world. We left with a deeper
urgency to Go and take the news of his glory to the lost,
news of his wonders to one and all!
Upon returning to Oahu, there was only one week left before
the start of our Christian Youth in Action
(CYIA
) summer
program. This year we had twenty-three CYIA students from
across the state, 20 from Oahu, 2 from Molokai and 1 from
Kauai who were trained for 2 weeks and sent out as
missionaries throughout the summer teaching 5-Day Clubs
,
conducting Camp Good News
training for a
Philippino Baptist Church. As with all the churches I have been
involved with, they all have a desire to strengthen their
childrens ministry program and get involved in reaching the
children in their community. We had 20 children workers from
3 churches that attended this event. I am in the process of
working with them to start a Good News Club in a school on
Maui this Fall. It was an enjoyable time and it has been exciting
to see how the Lord is opening up trainings and giving
churches a burden for the children and people of Hawaii.
We were also able to visit several of our
supporters and give an update at our supporting
churches. Though it was a brief time, we truly
enjoyed connecting with family and friends. We
are truly thankful to all who made this trip
possible.
