Steady beat
Look at the hearts on the board. Tap or clap each heart until everyone could join in and tap the steady beats together.
Independent Practice Review steady beat using Hickory dickory dock.

For steady beat,
- Half class do pendulum motion, half class say poem.
- Students playing woodblocks or temple blocks on steady beat.

As an option to prepare for barred instruments:
- Play rhythm of poem on floor/table, alternating hands, pretending they're mallets
- Alternate saying & playing poem
- Transfer to instruments
- Rotate through instruments by saying poem one time to get to the next instrument
- On another day, play question & answer. One student doesn't play "do" on "clock," another student plays "do" on "dock".
