Proposal for Business Club:

The business club seeks to provide a single platform where people can read, share and
discuss important business events happening around the world. The club also aspires to
have interesting events round the year to not only provide insights on business but also to
keep its members engaging. Following are the overview of the events and highlights of the
club.

Target audience:

The membership of the group is open to all the students of School of Management and
Labour Studies (SMLS) which comprises HRM&LR, SE and GL course.
ONLINE EVENTS
1) News and Views:
The members of the club will keep an eye on important business events of the week
and post relevant articles from across the web, magazines and newspapers to keep
the SMLS informed. The focus here is to keep posting views from business experts
on business matters and not to post personal views. A separate window for
classroom discussions will be provided.
These news and views will be posted only on the official FB page of the group (No
spamming on any other TISS group).
To not flood the FB page with posts, there will be limitations on number of posts and
business events covered per week.

2) Infographics:
Interesting info graphics (not exceeding 2) will be also posted on the FB page of the
group per week.

CONFERENCES:

The members of the group will attend business conferences by eminent speakers
around the country (Cities other than Mumbai/Pune will be covered during holidays)
and then write share their key takeaways on the FB page/google groups page of the
group.
Keep a close eye on important business conferences happening around the country
(which are feasible to attend) and inform about them to the whole batch.
Invite Alumni/Industry people/start-ups to give insights on their experience related
to business trends. Sample topic: Analytics and its impact on the business.

MANTHAN:
B-plan Contest - Participants are required to send in their B-Plan ideas online which
are focused on social change (TISS being a school with a social heart). Selected
teams will be invited to present their ideas in the campus.
BUDGET WEEK:
Updates, news , discussions (both online and offline) and seminar from faculties
from TISS, this event will be spread over 2 weeks( 1 week prior to the budget and 1
week post the budget) . It will be assured that students do not have to spend time
beyond 1-2 hrs during the event.
The club will come out with two articles( concise and not exhaustive)
1) TISS SLMS expectations from the budget (2-3 days before the prior date)
2) TISS SLMS analysis of the budget (1 week after the budget)
The articles will be posted on FB page and will be shared to all the other committees
in case they want to use this for their activities. (Eg: the articles can be posted by
ARC on websites like insideiim.com)
