A Sower went out to sow:
The Servants of Mary and
the New Evangelization
Moment of Prayer
On 6 August 2014, we began the day celebrating the feast of Transfiguration of the Lord with Lauds and
the Eucharistic Celebration presided over by fra Martin M. Muoz Vasquez () at the Shrine of Merci-
ful Love. After a long working day, we concluded by praying Vespers in the conference hall.
Each afternoon, before re-starting work, fra Camille M. Jacques () leads the assembly in a moment of
prayer based on the theme of the day with the help of power point presentations.
On 7 August 2014, we started the day with Lauds; late in the evening, we went in pilgrimage to St. Philip
Benizis Church in Todi, where the Holy Eucharist was presided over by fra Sergio M. Ziliani, the prior
provincial .
Moment of Study
On 6 August 2014, at 9.00 a.m., Fr. Giovanni Dal Piaz, Camaldolese, Sociologist
presented his study on the theme Analysis of today's world. His presentation was
helpful to the participants in understanding the present situation of the world, the
Church, consecrated life and laity. After his presentation there was time for clarifica-
tion and questioning.
On 7 August 2014, at 9.00 a.m., fra Ermanno M. Toniolo, presented an inspiring
way of understanding the Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium of Pope Fran-
cis. This methodology helped the participants to reflect and reread the Servite
Charism for the new evangelization.
There are translators to facilitate the understanding of reports and presentations in
different languages. We thank them for their precious service: Miss. Esther Buenfil
Patrn, (Italian, English and Portuguese), fra Jorge Luis M. Jimnez Delga-
dillo, (Spanish) and fra Roch M. Boulanger, (French).

Moment of Group Work
The assembly is divided into 9 groups with the names
of Saints and Blessed of our Servite Family according
to commonly spoken languages of the Order.
Seven Holy Founders (Italian)
St. Juliana Falconieri (Italian)
St. Philip Benizi (English)
St. Anthony M.Pucci (English)
St. Peregrine Laziosi (English)
Bl. Maddalena Starace (Italian)
Bl. Cecilia Eusepi (Portuguese)
Bl. Ferdinando Bacillieri (Spanish)
Bl. Maria Guadalupe Ricart Olmos (French)
Sharing reflections on the theme or responding to the
question or proposal of the speakers is always done in
these small groups. After the group sharing, a member
of each group presents the thoughts of that group to
the assembly.
Moment of Pilgrimage
On 7 August 2014, about 5.15 p.m., after the conference of the day, we went to Todi to pay our homage to St. Philip
Benizi. We visited the Cathedral and the Bishops House. From there we reached St. Philip Benizis Church in pil-
grimage for the Eucharistic con-celebration.
Moment of Recreation
Every day after supper, those who wish gather
together on the terrace of the Pilgrim House for
recreation. This is a Pentecostal experience be-
cause each person understands the others with-
out translators.
On 7 August 2014, after the pilgrimage to Todi,
we were taken to a restaurant in Collevalenza for
dinner which was offered by the Santissima An-
nunziata province. We thank the province for
their generosity and also for the icon of St. Philip
Benizi which was given to each of us. During the
dinner, a folkloristic group from Naples enter-
tained us with music and dance. We were singing
and dancing till midnight.
