Dear Mr. Harmening:

On August 6, 2014, PBS Engineering and Environmental Inc. (PBS) performed limited asbestos bulk sampling of
select building materials scheduled for demolition and/or significant renovation. The building materials sampled
during this limited survey are intended to be representative of the materials scheduled to be impacted through the
future renovation work (as indicated on the First and Second Floor Demolition Plan #D201, provided to PBS by
you). The limited asbestos bulk sampling was conducted at your request in order to determine if the materials
scheduled for renovation contained asbestos prior to demolition.

A total of eight (8) asbestos bulk samples were collected by Alex Fischer (Accreditation #IMR-14-6857A) of PBS,
and analyzed for asbestos content by Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) with dispersion staining. The sampling
was not intended to meet the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) asbestos survey
requirements under OAR 340-248-0270. Samples were submitted under chain of custody to Lab/Cor Portland,
Inc. for analysis.

Laboratory results indicate that no asbestos-containing building materials were identified during this limited
sampling event. Please refer to the attached Bulk Sample Inventory and laboratory results for more detailed
sample information. If you have questions or concerns regarding the information conveyed in this report, please

This laboratory participates in the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP).
Testing method is per 40 CFR 763 Subpart F, Appendix A, PLM.
Layered samples are considered non-homogeneous."Misc" is miscellaneous. "NAD" is No Asbestos Detected.
Asbestos consists of the following minerals: chrysotile, amosite, crocidolite, tremolite, actinolite, anthophyllite.
Small diameter fibers such as those found in vinyl floor tiles, may not be detected by PLM.
Asbestos detection interferences may result from material binders.
Qualitative and quantitative TEM analysis may be recommended for difficult samples.
Quantitative analysis by PLM point count or TEM is recommended for samples testing at < or = to 1% asbestos.
The following estimate of error for this method by visual estimation of asbestos percent are as follows:
1% asbestos: 0-3% error, 5% asbestos: 1-9% error, 10% asbestos: 5-15% error, 20% asbestos: 10-30% error.
This report pertains only to the samples listed on the report. Report considered valid only when signed by analyst.
