STEWARDSHIP

the results of a Redeemed LifE

DON’T FALL BACK
Whether it is beginning in springtime or ending in the fall, changes in daylight
savings time can be very disorienting. Apart from the inconvenience of having
to change clocks, there’s the trouble of changing your wake-up time. Also,
depending on your schedule, having to work or commute during the darkness
can be hard to get used to.

Remembering to change the clocks is important (I’ve missed church services

at least twice because I forgot), but at least it is easy to remember what to do
when it’s time. There’s an old saying: “Spring forward, fall back.” Clocks need
to be set an hour later in the springtime, and an hour earlier in the fall.

Sometimes, starting Christian stewardship can be disorienting, too. Getting

used to spending time volunteering, instead of relaxing, isn’t easy. Neither
is giving money that we’d normally spend on ourselves. Possibly risking
embarrassment by speaking or performing in front of others can be terribly
difficult for some people.

But, we can do it, if we try hard enough. We can “spring forward” to

rearrange our lives to serve Christ and make this world a better place. (And,
we must remember not to “fall back” into old habits).

Your Friends in Service,

The Stewardship Ministry
