Background of Topic
With expanding immigration, increasing globalization, and
minority population growth, there is a need to enrich the
diversity within the nursing profession to better meet the
needs of our changing society (Barbee & Gibson, 2011).

Cultural Relevance Require:
Instructors to display competence in teaching skills to cross cultural students
Embrace cultural difference
Acknowledge cultural assumption
They should empower students to relate course content to his or her cultural
context
Empower students to maintain cultural integrity while succeeding academically
Recruitment of more minority instructors to function as role model
Use available resources to foster learning environment
