1.1 Introduction
This Tellabs

8000 Intelligent Network Manager Release Notes document describes the changes
that have been made to Tellabs 8000 intelligent network manager system release 4.0 service pack
2.24.
SR4.0-SP2.24 is an installation patch and it must be installed on top of Tellabs 8000 intelligent
network manager SR4.0-SP2 ( including any previously installed fastlanes of SR4.0-SP2).
1.2 Installation
Prior to the installation, shut down all Tellabs 8000 intelligent network manager processes from all
Management Server, Communication Server and Fault Server computers.
Insert the Tellabs 8000 intelligent network manager SR4.0-SP2.24 installation media into the drive.
Launch SETUP.EXE from the \NMS\SP2.24 directory. SR4.0-SP2.24 must be updated to all
Communication Server computers.

1.3 Database Script
A database script is delivered with SR4.0-SP2.24. The script fixes the incorrect fault time stamps
generated to the Tellabs 8000 intelligent network manager database between August 11th and the
time of the SR4.0-SP2.24 installation. The script must be executed after installing SR4.0-SP2.24,
but prior to starting the Tellabs 8000 intelligent network manager processes.
1.3.1 Script Execution
The following script is needed.
FixFaultTimes.sql

The script must be run to the Tellabs 8000 intelligent network manager database from a
Communication Server computer, where SR4.0-SP2.24 is installed. The SR4.0-SP2.24 installer has
copied the script into the %NMSINSTDIR%\SQL\SYBASE\ directory.
The script is executed as follows.
Step 1 Open the Command Prompt.
Step 2 Go to the %NMSINSTDIR%\SQL\SYBASE\ directory.
Step 3 Run the ISQL command with the following syntax.
RunIsql <database server name> <database name> <user name>
<password> <Name of the script>
Step 4 Check from the output that the script was successfully executed.

1.4.1 Fault Management
Fixed Bugs
From August 11th 2013 (UTC) onwards Tellabs 8000 intelligent network manager
systematically collects faults from the Tellabs 8600 network elements with an incorrect
time stamp starting from January 2000.
Once the corrective patch has been installed and the script has been executed, the time
stamps will be correct for the Tellabs 8660, Tellabs 8630 and Tellabs 8620 nodes running
the ESW FP2.9 and newer, the Tellabs 8605 nodes running the ESW FP1.1 and newer, and
all the Tellabs 8607, Tellabs 8609 and Tellabs 8611 nodes. (CR ID t8000227407)
1.4.2 Performance Management
Fixed Bugs
The TDM and TDMPWE PMS history statistics are not collected after August 11th 2013
(UTC). This is a Tellabs 8000 intelligent network manager workaround for the Tellabs 8600
NE CR cq300238021. (CR ID t8000227545)
